18 Rogue Information

The Master seemed ever so slightly anxious as he waited in his study. He was waiting for some valuable information to come. It had been over a month since he sent five of his scouts out. It was not solely the information he was waiting on. He paced the floor and tried to not think about the strong, silent woman he had seen collapse at his feet the day prior. She was part of all this, even if she did not realize it yet.

Something was seeping through the surrounding gatherings. A restlessness against the structure of the gatherings. A change for the better is optional, but not a slow pull towards a trap. He had been keeping track of these occurrences for years. He had to stay hidden enough that no organization could track him, especially the rouge ones. Although he had a insignia, Atila herself had not recognized it (chapter 4, The Token).

A short knock on the door gave way to the scouts' arrival. With composed eagerness they unfolded papers of the hijacked plans. They had located the base of a secret dark trade post hidden in the westward mountains. Its primary merchandise were guns. The customers, they could only guess them to be the same whom had been plotting anarchy.

The mass development of guns had only been around for the past decade, at least anywhere near the region. The gatherings still worked with slightly ancient methods passed on through the generations. Although this region was primarily non hostile, it was still fairly closed off to outside influence and growth. The underground growth he was concerned about would be far from healthy.
