Adventurer usually formed a party with other adventurer so that they can complete more jobs faster. Adventurer usually chose their party member based on their strength and coverage in the party.
"Forming a party with you Ethan?" asked Lilia.
"Yes," answered Ethan.
"Are you serious? I'm really weak you know. I'm not even joking that I think I am the weakest among others our age," said Lilia.
"I'm weak too," said Ethan.
"If you're weak too, that is more reason to not form a party with me. It was better if you choose a stronger person than me. I'll just become your burden," said Lilia.
"Will a strong guy want to form a party with someone weak like me? No, you know that yourself. I didn't ask you this on a whim," said Ethan.
Ethan actually understand what Lilia went through. He knew the feeling of being weak and desperate. He got lucky with the special skills he obtained because with that power, he can improve himself though not as fast as most people but that was only in the beginning. Once his talents' affinity increase more, he will be the same as the other. He had a hunch that Lilia can also use his special skills if they formed a party, so he wanted to help Lilia too.
"If you form a party with me, you can become stronger. I have a method to make us become stronger but you need to keep this method a secret," said Ethan.
"A method to become stronger? Isn't training the only way to become stronger?" asked Lilia.
"Even with this method, training is still the most important to become stronger. You just need to trust me. You won't regret forming a party with me," Ethan tried to convince Lilia.
There was another reason Ethan asked Lilia to form a party with him. Ethan needs someone who can performed long ranged attack. He can tame monster in the future but right now he needed that more because of the red magpie. With Lilia's archery, they can have killed the red magpie easier than how Ethan used to.
Lilia considered Ethan offered but she still can't say yes to Ethan.
"You don't need to worry about money. I'll buy you a new bow too," said Ethan.
"…I actually not convince with this new method you said just now but I know you are a good guy so I think I will take your offer," said Lilia. "I'm really not in a good condition too so forming a party with you will help me too," Lilia continued.
Ethan smiled and said "Okay, welcome to my party, Lilia," Ethan extended his right hand to Lilia to handshake her. Lilia accepted the handshake and they went out of the shop.
Ethan and Lilia went to the Adventurer Guild and register as a party. They decided to name their party with Ethan's name. So their party will now know as Ethan's party. Ethan didn't want to use his name but Lilia insisted on that since Ethan was the one who invited her for this party.
After finished registering their party, Both Ethan and Lilia went to an inn and booked two rooms. Wafu and Gooey were not with Ethan because they were in the storage. After they booked the rooms, they entered one of the room because Ethan wanted to show Lilia his special skills.
Ethan sat on the bed and Lilia sat on the chair in the rooms.
"I will tell you the method to help us becomes stronger," said Ethan. Lilia only stayed silent and patiently waited Ethan to say it.
"You know that we have the stats, skills and talents, right?" asked Ethan.
"Yes"
"During the awakening ceremony, I'm not only awakened those three but something else," said Ethan.
"Something else," Lilia showed interest.
"I awakened something called the special skills," said Ethan.
"Special skills?" asked Lilia.
"Special skills is different than normal skills. At first I got a special skill called newborn where it reset everything of mine to one. My talents and stats all turned to one," said Ethan.
Lilia was shocked to hear that. 'That means Ethan's talents' affinity is 1%? That is lower than mine' said Lilia in her mind.
"I was really sad at that time but newborn is not a normal skill but special. Once its time limit disappears, its special effect gives birth to another six special skills," said Ethan.
"SIX?!!" Lilia shocked.
"Yes, these six special skills help me a lot and thanks to them I now can becomes stronger," said Ethan while smiling.
"But, that is your skill, how can that make me strong," asked Lilia.
"If you form a party with me, you can use this too. When we formed our party earlier, I got a notification from my system to allow you to be able to use my special skills but I thought I should explain it to you first," said Ethan.
"So since I'm part of your party, I can use it too?" asked Lilia excited.
"Yes but you need to keep this a secret. If another Ranker knows this, we will be in a very bad situation," warned Ethan. Lilia nodded her head.
"Okay, now I will allow you to use the special skills," said Ethan. After Ethan said that, a notification appeared in front of him.
'Ting~ Lilia can now use the special skills'
Lilia also receive a notification saying she can use the special skills. When she saw the special skills, she was smiling without stopping. She read the notification description and understood most of them. Ethan then explain the skills special effect that he found before to Lilia.
"Thank you Ethan. Now I can become stronger too," said Lilia.
"I forgot to tell you something," said Ethan
"What?"
"After you were allowed to use the special skills earlier, I got another notification. It said that since you know about the skills, if you tell another person without my permission, you will die," said Ethan.
"What?!! Really?..... Doesn't matter anyway. Why would I tell anyone about this?" said Lilia.
Ethan smiled when Lilia said that. The truth is there was no such thing. Ethan lied to Lilia. He wanted to know if he can really trust Lilia to keep this a secret.
"Ethan, can I start increasing my talents now. My broken bow will work right?" asked Lilia.
"It's better to use skills to upgrade your talents," said Ethan "Skills will increase our talents' affinity more than equipment. It will increase our other skills related to the talents too."
"Oh, since we can only use it once per month, it's better to use it efficiently," said Lilia.
"About your talents, can we postpone it first?" asked Ethan.
"Is there something else?"
"The truth is right now I need money to buy a land. I want to build a big house on that land and we won't need to stay at inn anymore," said Ethan.
"We? I can live there too?" asked Lilia.
"Obviously. You have nowhere to go and the house I want to build will be big, so having more people living there will be better. You are now my family too," said Ethan while smiling.
"T-T-Thank you Ethan. You really help me a lot," said Lilia while tears started to comes out of her eyes.
"Let's buy you some equipment and tomorrow, we will start hunting together," said Ethan.
"Urm… Okay," said Lilia
After that they went straight to weapon shop to get Lilia new weapons.
"What kind of bow you usually used?" asked Ethan.
"I use longbow," said Lilia.
"Give us three longbows. Do you have the refill quiver?" asked Ethan to the shopkeeper.
"Yes we have that. Do you need one?" asked the shopkeeper.
"Give us one please," said Ethan.
"Wait Ethan. Refill quiver is expensive. You said you want to collect money to buy that land and why are buying three longbows?" asked Lilia.
"You don't need to worry about money. We can get the money we buy this back easily. We have the drop skills. Buying the refill quiver will zero the cost of buying arrows in the future. It will be good investment. For the three longbow, we need to increase your talent and the bows power," whispered Ethan.
"I forgot about the fusion, sorry," said Lilia.
"Here our refill quiver. We only have this type here. This quiver maximum arrows are 30. You can register 2 different types of arrow. The refill cost of MP for each arrow depends on the types of arrow" said the shopkeeper "Archer is not a popular class so we only have this longbow with atk+5"
Archers were scarce because people prefer magic more as long ranged attack.
"Okay that is good. Can I get 20 wooden arrows and 10 iron tip arrow," asked Ethan.
After they finish buying the equipment, they went back to the inn and use the special skills.
Lilia bows talents' affinity increase from 7% to 8%. They fuse the longbows and got a longbow with atk+10. Lilia registered the wooden arrow all atk+3 and iron tip arrow atk+5 to the refill quiver. The wooden arrow refill will cost 2 MP per arrow and 5 MP per arrow for iron tip arrow.
"Lilia, you have the fire element talent, right?" asked Ethan.
"Yes, why are you asking?" said Lilia.
"Let's hunt red magpie tomorrow and get lots of fire skill drops. We can use the skill drop to increase your fire talent and you will get new attack skills too," said Ethan.
"Let's do it," said Lilia with a determined face.
