2 Chapter 2:An Encounter with the Wahalam

The magical river of Linaw has a immeasurable center part and it is a sacred river located at the deepest part of the forest of Alagyan Baloktot,the river water is believed to be the tears of the goddess Cruz,her tears can make miracles like it can cure unknown diseases,it can also make you strong and many more,but the river has a dangerous guardian,Wahalam.It is a gigantic man-eating alien fish that possess a powerful magic that even the strongest person in the town can never defeat.The towns ancestors even created a song about it to warn the people about that place,it is stated in the song that the Wahalam sleeps in the deepest part of the river and has big red murderous eyes,a set of sharp teeth,sturdy red scales and a blue and red metallic fins.

After the name of the place came to Alawa's mind he came to rescue whoever it is that is asking for help,he sprinted as fast as he can towards the sound of the river water leaving his meal at the ground,the path that he left behind was glowing bright green because of the glowing plants his body touched and it is covered in heavy clouds of dust.He is running too fast that the soil that he stepped on was pressed hard that it created a mold on the ground and as he got his feet off some soil are thrown into the air and deforming the molds,at his speed he reached the river in less that a minute.The voice is still calling for help but it is more audible now,he scanned the river quickly seeing the clear blue water,a ground full of pebbles and stones,a small number of magical trees near and inside the river and as soon as he saw a pack of wild dogs aggressively attacking a boy who is holding at a tree root near the center of the river his body moved in action.Alawa run towards the pack of dogs while grabbing a hand full of stones along the way and as he neared to the group he released the stones with full strength,hitting almost all of the dogs in the group.The alpha took a powerful blow at his mouth and on its rib and as it turned it's head into the direction of where the stones came from and saw Alawa holding his knife out in a attack position the alpha knew that he could not win with his injured members and as well as his broken ribs and a bleeding mouth so he howled to retreat slowly while staying in their defensive position.Alawa followed the movement of the pack who is moving slowly into the forest while growling at him and as soon as they had a good distance with him they run quickly and then they disappeared into the forest plants,he dropped his attack position as soon as he saw the danger was gone and swiftly came to the kid holding at the end of the tree root that look like he was about to be swept by the waters in any second,"Don't let go of the root that you are holding kid!" Alawa shouted while stepping into the slippery moss covered magical tree roots and made some slow steady steps towards the boy at the end on the root.He balanced his body at a extra tree root above next to where the boy is holding on ,"Come on,grab my hand and I'll pull you out of the water!" he said while giving his hand out for the kid to reach,"B-but if I let go of this root I'll fall into the center part of the river!" The kid explained to him while hugging the root tighter, Alawa saw a huge damage made by the wild dogs claws on the root where the kid is holding on and he knew that it would break any time soon,"Just grab my hand and I promise that you will be okey"he said despite knowing that the chances of the kid grabbing his hands is low,the kid thought twice before letting go of the root that he is hugging and using it to throw his whole body into Alawa's hands.The boy's hand was a little too far from Alawa's hands when he jumped up,the kid knew well that he would never make it to his side so he just closed his eyes and waited for the water to take him out but Alawa caught the kid's hand by leaning a little more to the edge of the root where he is standing before,the boy opened his eyes to see that he caught him,the kid was being pulled up slowly and he felt happy that he was somehow saved and he is already standing with Alawa when they both heard a loud crack on there foot,he looked at Alawa and suddenly the root gave up,they are screaming as they fall and after a few seconds the screaming died out as they are submerged in the river.They didn't fall at the center of the river but they did fall at an area full of magical tree roots at the edge of the center part of the river,but because of their screams and the huge impact they made from falling into the water a powerful shock wave was created that reached the deepest part of the river and someones peaceful slumber was interrupted.A deep river creature was awaken and it moved fast like thunder swimming upwards where the shock waves originated.Alawa and the kid rise to the surface and as they swam to the nearest root the creature from below is now nearing to the surface of the river,Alawa swam behind the kid so that the boy would not fall behind.He helped the boy up into the root but a giant creature suddenly jumped out of the water creating a huge splash and it shocked both of them that it even made the boys footing messed up,he slipped from the root and one of his foot ended up being stuck between a narrow space in a group of roots."Wahalam" Alawa said as he remembers the song about it,the Wahalam fall back into the water that made a huge splash and high waves of water was sent travelling into all of the directions and it slamed to thier bodies with great force then it started approaching them under water with insane speed that it even created loops of bubble around it's path,Alawa predicted that the guardian is going to hit them so he started working to get the kids foot out of that place at the fastest way.He grabbed the root in front of him and he forced it outwards to create a little space just enough for the boys leg to get out,the guardian is getting near them and the little boy started panicking and as the guardian is only a few meters away from Alawa's body the boy got his foot out and quickly climbed up the root above him and as for Alawa he got his whole body out of the way before the guardians mouth reached him,the guardian made a powerful impact into the magical tree roots that resulted into the destruction of a small portion in that area and after it the guardian retreated away from them,Alawa saw this as a chance to escape from the guardian and he used this chance to climb up the tree roots as fast as he can but the guardian came back with a more stronger and faster attack than before and it collided with the roots.Alawa was already on the top root with the kid before the guardian made contact with the roots the second time.The guardian swam away and he checked the boy's foot to see a little scratch on his skin but other than that the kid is completely fine,he stood up and offer a hand with a smile to help the boy up and as the kid was about to accept his offer he heard a powerful splash of water and just before his eyes he saw the giant guardian flying in the sky and was falling forward into their direction with fast speed,Alawa looked around as soon as he heard the splash of water underneath them and was left frozen in his place after seeing the guardian displaying all of its sharp teeth in front of his face then the bright blue light glowing inside the guardian's throat and before he can react his vision became dark and the last thing he heard was the faint sound of the boy's scream before his body went numb.
