4 3. Magus? Tick! Vampires? Mission Start!

It has been 7 months since Kirei first went to kill a magus. Safe to say, he has racked quite an amount of kills and is a rising star among the ranks of the Executors of the Church. His prowess in fighting against them have also increased tremendously due to the amount of times he goes to fight. Kirei is aware of it, which is the reason why he is in front of the Cardinal right now with a request.

"You wish to go against Vampires?" The Cardinal asked him surprised.

"Yes Cardinal, I do." Kirei said to him.

"Why do you want to kill Vampires all of a sudden child?" The Cardinal asked him.

"I have been going after magus' for five months now. I thought that I should also hunt Vampire's to gain the experience. If I were to encounter any Vampire in the future I want to be ready to fight them." Kirei said to him.

The Cardinal went into deep thought at that as he thought about what to do. After much contemplation he opened his eyes and looked at Kirei with a smile.

"Very well, you have shown promise and have been working for our Lord very diligently. And it is better to be prepared than not having the experience needed to fight against Vampires. I will find someone amongst our ranks who can teach you." The Cardinal said to him.

"Thank you for accepting my request." Kirei thanked him.

"It is of no consequence. Now wait in the garden while I bring the person to you." Cardinal said to him.

Kirei complied as he left the Cardinal's office and went to the Garden and sat on its bench. He grabbed his cross and rubbed it with his thumb. After his killing of his first magus he has went on numerous missions which had to be completed with brutal efficiency. Of course, that meant he has become very proficient in the killing of those Magus who break the rules of the Church.

'It's quite amusing. In most other worlds, the people of the Church are the villains but here the Church is what it should be. An organisation dedicated to the welfare of mankind.' Kirei thought to himself.

Kirei has quite the amount of experience in killing magus' now so he is quite happy about that fact since that means he won't have too much trouble with the average and mid level magus. But there was also another factor which caused him to want to learn to kill Vampires. And that was that the magus were human.

And since they were human they were far easier to kill since if they aren't able to use their spells then they are defenceless as he can kill them easily. He has also become very proficient in the use of his black keys as opposed to throwing them he uses them as swords or claws. More specifically, he uses the keys like Wolverine's claws.

He wanted to get experience in killing non human beings as well as he doesn't know what might happen in the future. Due to the education that was given to him by his father he knows about the Vampires, Dead Apostles and Dead Apostles Ancestors and knows about their existence. He also knows that many Vampire's pray on humans which is why the Church hunt them.

There is also the fact about his mentality which due to being reborn as Kirei caused him to only feel happiness by watching the suffering of others which he did not want. The last thing he wanted was to become just like the Kirei Kotomine from the Fate series.

As he was thinking to himself he heard the sound of footsteps and looked to his left to find the Cardinal walking towards him with a man in tow. He has black hair, fair skin and blue eyes and is of average height. He has the cross hanging from his neck and dressed in a black robe. The both of them stood in front of him as he stood up and looked at them.

"Kirei, this is Sakagi. He is a vampire hunter of the Church. He is very experienced so i am sure that this will be a valuable experience for you." The Cardinal said to him with a smile.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Kirei. You are quite well known in the Church." Sakagi said to him as he extended his hand to the child.

"It's nice to meet you as well sir." Kirei said as he gave a small smile.

Of course, considering his condition he can't exactly feel any happiness so he has learned to control his facial features and can now act out various emotions without much problem and most who are inexperienced wouldn't be able to know that he is faking it and it seems the two in front of him haven't.

"Now, before I take you on hunting, I must teach you the ways to kill a Vampire." Sakagi said to him.

"As you say sir." Kirei said to him.

After that they both excused themselves and separated from the Church before going to the Vampire hunter department of the Church. They got looks from the other members there, mostly Kirei who is walking beside Sakagi. Though he wasn't surprised by it due to his rise in popularity among the Church.

They then reached a spacious room which is filled with various weapons which includes modern weaponry like guns and Black keys though the Black Keys were numerous it seemed that no one has any interest in taking it, something which Kirei noted.

"As you see here Kirei. This is the place where we get out tools needed for the killing of Vampires." Sakagi said as he gestured to the room.

The other members turned and looked at them when they heard Kirei's name being said as they looked at the boy. A thing to note was that Kirei, recognising the dangers of the world have been going on as many missions as he could so that he could rack up experience and strength which also contributed to him completing a shit ton of missions for the Church.

Obviously, it was a shock that a child so young would complete so many missions of the Church as the people saw it as a show of devotion of Kirei towards their Lord and were more than happy to hear about it. His father Risei is extremely proud to hear about the accomplishments of his son in the Church.

"Now come with me to that room. There I will tell you about the weakness of Vampires and teach you how to kill them." Sakagi said as he walked.

"Yes." Kirei said as he walked behind the man.

The both of them then walked to a room, but as they were walking Kirei looked at all the weapons that are currently around him before they entered the room. There he was taught about the Vampires by Sakagi as he absorbed the information.

Basically Vampire's were almost like they are told in fiction. They need to drink blood for their bodies and are more powerful than humans. But there is also a distinction between them as there are two types. One of the True Ancestors - the original Vampires who are no more as far as the Church knows and Dead Apostles - Former human's who became Vampires.

They are aversed to sunlight and work during night. They have regenerative capabilities but that depends on how much blood they have. The Church at first had only been able to kill then by trapping them and burning them in a building. But due to the advancements it has become much more easier to kill them.

For example, the Black Keys were created and due to them being Scriptures itself they are very effective. But then came modern firearms as the Church then started to use them. They would inscribe prayers onto the bullets which worked wonders and they have now become much more powerful.

He was also taught about how if a Vampire were to drink the blood of a human they would themselves turn into a vampire, more specifically a Dead Apostle. Then there are the 27 Dead Apostles, the strongest Vampire's of the World and the only ones who can kill them are the strongest members of the Church.

While the Black Keys are a powerful tool they are overlooked in favour of the much more simpler guns due to their simplicity. Due to that the use of the Black Keys has dwindled to the point where only a few members of the Church use it, with him being one of the few. After his studies which took no more than 40 minutes they left the room as they looked at the amount of weapons.

"So, what kind of weapon do you want Kirei?" Sakagi asked him.

Kirei looked at the weapons around and then looked at the Black Keys as Sakagi also looked at them and he knew how Kirei uses the Black Keys so it didn't come as a surprise to the man that he would be interested in using it.

"Well, I would say everything. But, is it possible for me to get my own custom Black Keys?" Kirei asked him.

"What do you suggest?" Sakagi asked him interested in hearing his ideas.

Kirei just smiled at his question with a knowing look.
