69 Chapter 68

Almost one month comes and goes in a blink of an eye.

The warning of Rhan has always been on the girls' and Sam's minds these days, forcing them to work their hardest.

Essentially, their lives with Sam were being threatened by an unknown character, they would obviously be careful when dealing with it.

In this past month, Sam, as well as his girls, has been training nonstop. Every day, the gang would practice their magic and their cooperation for at least 8 hours.

"When do you girls think the Selection is going to happen? Sam asks while eating breakfast.

"Probably soon?" Nycta says.

When they are not doing training, Nycta will be almost always naked up in the penthouse. When she is told to put some clothes on, she will say being naked is a great 'stress reliever'. The person who would be relieved of course is omitted.

As for Sam, being a man who just had sex, could not resist one bit. The best he could do is to wait until night.

And in Nycta's words: occasionally, while in the words of the others: all the time, the blind girl and Sam have had intercourses. To which, the rest can only try their best to stop her.

"Why can she stay like that but we can not?" Yuno glares at Nycta showing her chest.

One day, they swear, when the Selection is over, they will do the same thing.

Lily puts her spoon down. "Why didn't you want to do it with us, Sam?"

He sighs. "Not that I don't want to. But there is a time and a place for things. I would like to ask you girls out first, then we would build up the atmosphere a little. Your firsts are very valuable and I want you to feel appreciated. Not like huff-puff, bam, done."

Lily peeks at the blind girl eating her meal with one hand and grabbing his arm with the other. "But what if we could have powers such as Nycta?"

"I would not sleep with you girls for that reason. You deserve a much better experience than that. If I do it, then it will be exactly like prostitution with the price being the blessing." Sam shakes his head. "That is a huge disrespect. Trust me, I want to embrace all of you girls every day. The first time should be memorable for you girls, too."

"Sam is right, you know." Nycta chimes in. "What I did was not very conventional. I was terrified he would not accept me. Not anymore, though."

*Muah*

She kisses him on the cheek. "There is more where that is coming."

*Pop pop pop*

Three veins pop on the other girls' foreheads.

"Yui...Yui would like to know the time! Right, Yuno?"

"Definitely, Yui! When, Sam? When? Yuno is not very good at waiting." Yuno lies on the table. "Yuno wants to do it right now!"

Lily stares at her. "Stop it. People are eating. And we need to prepare for school, too!"

The girls have also been going back to Magic Academy because Sam could not afford to quit it. Still, they were always on high alert and the guy himself was always under defensive magic to prevent any kind of sudden attack.

Getting him into a dangerous environment was always the biggest concern, but the gain has been very nice, also. Thanks to the teachings of the school, Sam and the girls managed to improve their magic mastery. Some ideas for new spells have been made, as well.

Furthermore, his reputation was better than before. Much better, actually. Ever since the battle with the five guys and the sex tape was released, people started to notice a strange pattern aiming towards him. Conspiracy theories circled, saying that Sam was not such a bad person that they thought him to be.

The disappearance of Marie was a major breakpoint for these conspiracies, as people argued that she was afraid of facing him after doing such disgusting things to his status.

Alas, people would never know the truth behind it. At the bottom of all of those was the figure of Lord Kan, after all. At the least, some would defend Sam when there was a debate.

"Oh! By the way, regarding the combination of..." Sam is about to ask something but he stops in the middle. The girls at the same time turn silent.

Because they hear it.

It has come.

Inside the minds of all the people on Earth, there is an announcement. It tells them to gaze their eyes at the sky. No matter which time zone it is, as long as one can look up, they can see the event.

Up high, a giant word made from clouds is visible, no way this is a natural phenomenon.

The word is 'Selection'.

Not only that, an Ethereal voice can be heard after the announcement.

"Hear my words, mortals."

Simultaneously, the people of Earth kneel down on the ground. Many of them get excited to the point of crying and laughing hysterically.

It has been many years since the last Selection. The last one was probably more than 2000 years ago. Even The Great War on Earth back in 1945 did not have a Selection, only the Apostle.

The voice of the Goddess cuts off after that, and the sky now has a countdown from 24:00:00.

"So it is real, after all..." Lily is very worried. The worst has come. She never wanted that person, Rhan, to be correct.

Nycta appears to be very serious, an expression she does not have quite often. "I guess the time has come. We should take our items with us."

"Yeah..." Sam also feels heavy. He can not shake the message out of his mind.

"Was that the Goddess? She could talk to all of us at once at did something like that thing in the sky...Her power is unimaginable..." Yui grabs Yuno by the arms.

"Why are you shaking? What are we so worried about?" Yuno looks at the people with confusion in her eyes.

"" Huh?!"" They return the gaze.

"I mean, it's not like we didn't prepare anything, right? Others may not even know Selection was coming. If anything then Yuno must say thanks to that Rhan person. Worrying right now is too much of a hassle. And don't forget we even have the strange accessories that can store mana!"

Yuno tilts her head on one side and starts showing others how silly they are.

"You don't worry about the dying part?" Lily asks.

"We did what the note said, didn't we? Besides, Yuno is stronger now!"

Nycta gives another question. "What about Sam?"

"If that person knew about the Selection, was busy back then, told us to prepare BUT told Sam that she was coming, she must have known that Sam would be safe, right? Isn't that weird knowing Sam is in danger but still didn't come? Would Nycta do such a stupid thing?"

"No...I would abandon everything." The blind girl replies immediately.

"So, in conclusion, that Rhan knows Sam will be safe or at least will not get into danger that much." Yuno starts to mimic smoking with her fingers. "Case closed."

Everyone is dumbfounded.

Yuno is always not using her brain. Regardless of that, when she does...she is quite amazing.

Sam comes and pats her on the head. His heavy shoulders are much better now after her thoughts.

"Thanks, Yuno. You are my little detective."

"Hehehehe! Yuno is a really good detective!" She smiles gleefully.

"Yes, yes you are."

Even the others can not be jealous of Yuno when she is being rewarded like this.

Morale has gone to the sink when the announcement was made, and Yuno single-handedly pulled it up. She deserves it.

Sam was worried that the girls would be in danger. There maybe is still a chance, but Sam will try his best.

When he felt down, he knew one thing for sure.

This place, these people are his happiness. All fibers of his beings are dedicated to maintaining it.

It is his turn to give them the favor they all deserve.

"Let's have a relaxing day, today!" Sam announces. "Who wants ice cream?! Who wants me to feed them ice cream?"

"" Ehhhhh!"" The girls widen their eyes and mouths in such temptation from him.
