1 Chapter I: Deep Sleep

KRIIIIIING KRIIIIIIING

It was 7 o'clock in the morning and the alarm clock was buzzing loudly, echoing in the entire room.

"Ugh... so annoying" muttered a sleepy voice in his mattress, covered in comfy blankets.

Slowly opening his eyes, he gained consciousness. He sat down on his bed and turned the alarm clock off. He got up, went to the bathroom to wash up, and went to the kitchen to get some water. Just like how he would on a normal day.

This is Damon's normal routine. He is 17 years old. He wakes up early in the morning to prepare for school. And that's what he's doing right now.

Everything was just the same as he would on his normal day. Except, this wasn't a normal day.

Damon was on his way to the bathroom to get ready for school when he noticed something out of the ordinary. The window blinds were a bit open. And he could peek at what's outside. And surely, the sight was nothing out of the ordinary.

He went closer to see what it was, out of curiosity. And as he opened the blinds- there it was. Chaos. Everything destroyed. It's like a huge bomb exploded and just blew up everything outside.

It was unclear to him what the hell happened. All he knew was it was bad. It was terrifying. And the first thing he thought of was his family.

He ran to the hallway screaming his mom and dad's names. But there was nothing in return. He went to their room and to his surprise- they were gone. No sign of life anywhere. No anything. There was just silence.

Still panicking, he ran towards his sister's room. Hoping she would be there. But also none. Nothing. Just air and silence all over the place.

There were no signs of assault. No forced entry. Everything was normal. It's like they were just gone. So what the hell happened? Where are they? Even the people outside. Where could they be?

What happened outside? Damon's mind couldn't stop thinking about all those questions. He didn't know where to start or what to do.

All he knew was that he was all alone in this house right now. With no one to lean on and no one to answer his questions. And on top of that, the world is in chaos and everything's been destroyed.

He needs to find answers but he doesn't know where to start.

So he went back to his room and grabbed his phone. He checked the date. It was August 9. His eyes grew wide at this.

"August... August 9?"

"There must be something wrong with this thing."

He tried to check the settings but everything else was working fine. It really was August 9.

"That can't be. I'm pretty sure it was just June 20 last night. How can this be?"

He looked at the calendars and all the other phones in the house. But they were all the same date. Nothing was wrong with the devices.

"Holy shit. I have been asleep for 49 days!!??"
