Chapter 1 – How All that Happened

Third person pov

Running down the streets in rushing for their next mission, two assassins are exchanging words for being late, and suddenly, one of them, a male boy named Akihito Hirona, accidentally dropped his USB flash drive to the sidewalk. He didn't notice it because he and his twin sister, Aki Hirona, are in a hurry.

It was the day after his parents' 3rd death anniversary, and Asuka Caballeros, a young half-Filipino, half-Japanese boy of Spanish descent, was in his room in an apartment unit, watching some videos in his 2-year-old laptop at his desk. He was waiting for someone to come home from shopping for groceries so he could cook dinner. Since that day fell on a Wednesday, he and that someone, named Niko, his younger sister with brown, long hair and black eyes, had arrived from school a few hours ago. And yet, they still had energy to do their favorite hobbies.

In terms of appearance, Asuka was of average height and weight, had brown hair and bangs that partially covered his left eye, and black eyes. He had his mother's hair color and his father's eye color.

His personality can be best described as good, a bit defensive and sensitive, friendly, and hardworking. But, he can be angry and defensive of his beliefs when facing criticism from those who don't like him and Niko as biracial Japanese.

His parents are CEOs of two companies, one is in the IT industry, and the other one in the construction industry. But 3 years ago, they died in a car accident, and since Asuka and Niko are too young to inherit either companies, his father, a Spanish named Santiago Caballeros, entrusted his company to his Japanese secretary, Yumiko Arashiba, while Asuka's mother, Eiko, entrusted her company to her secretary, Hashiro Arashiba, the younger brother of Yumiko. Both of them became temporary acting presidents of both companies until Asuka and Niko are either old enough to take over or do it themselves while still studying. But, Santiago did gave the inheritance money to Asuka and Niko so they would survive financially without the need to work part-time. And that inheritance money was originally 70,000,000 Japanese yen, but in the three years since then, that dropped to 56,911,300 yen, still more than enough to go to Tokyo University. That deduction mostly went to pay for their living expenses and school tuition. And now, Asuka is currently in second-year in senior high school while Niko is a freshman.

Now back to that fateful afternoon, Niko was walking down the sidewalk carrying two plastic bags full of groceries when she stumbled upon a USB flash drive, the same flash drive Akihito accidentally dropped hours earlier, laying on the sidewalk. Curious about its contents, she picked it up and rushed towards home. Not long after, she arrived at their apartment home, opening the door while greeting, "I'm home."

Upon hearing her voice, Asuka paused the video he was currently watching, stand up, and went to the living room to meet up with her.

"Welcome back, sis," he greeted back positively, "what ingredients did you buy?"

Taking off her shoes, Niko responded, "Ingredients for a curry udon."

Delighted by the word 'curry udon', Asuka replied, "Wow, that sounds delicious. Thanks."

But then, he noticed the USB flash drive in her right hand, and asked her, "Um, is that a flash drive in your hand?"

Niko then put aside her groceries on the dining table and looked at the flash drive, before looking at her older brother and responded, "Um, yes, I was wondering who dropped it."

Asuka then became suspicious at it then, thinking that it might contain confidential information.

So he said to Niko, "That sounds sus. Give it to me."

Eventually, Niko gave the flash drive to him, and he hurriedly went back to his bedroom to plug it in his laptop. Niko then went after him to his bedroom to check it out.

When she arrived at her older brother's room, Asuka was now checking the flash drive's contents, which were very sensitive and confidential for an ordinary person like him to find out. Then, after reading some info of some high-profile people and some sensitive information, Asuka freaked out in the inside, and immediately closed his laptop, causing Niko to be surprised and stunned simultaneously.

He then turned towards his sister and said to her, "We have to move."

He then jolted out of his swivel chair and started to look for his roller bag, before spotting it next to his wardrobe.

As Asuka grabbed it and unzipped it open, Niko raised a question, "Uh, what's wrong, big brother?"

Once again, Asuka looked at her, and replied, "Someone is after us."

He then turned back and opened his wardrobe, getting some of his clothes and finished journals.

"But how can you tell?" Niko asked back.

To explain that, Asuka let go of his belongings and opened his laptop, showing the sensitive and confidential information to her.

"Oh, that makes sense," Niko get it now after reading the information very fast.

With that out of the way, Asuka closed his laptop and resumed packing.

But, as Asuka is about to put the first piece of clothing into his roller bag, someone broke into their apartment home via the window of his bedroom.
