13 Bringer of Light and Death?!

Kaden was momentarily frightened screaming inside his mind and would be audibly if he was able to. When he turned his head he was eye to eye with a skeleton. That's what he would like to say but that wasn't the full truth. The being before Kaden was half skeleton and half human being. All of the inner working of a human were present inside the human half of the thing but strangely enough weren't falling due to the absence of the other half of the body. Almost as if it was paused inside the being unable to move.

After staring at each other for a moment Kaden had calmed down and was just having a staring contest of sorts with the being. It didn't blink either seemingly staring into his soul with its one fully black eye. Though Kaden could tell it was somewhat living as he could see it breathing with its nose and also see one lung inside the human side of it moving as it sucked air in and out.

Air. Air. Air.

'Wait air?!? There's no way there's air here.' Kaden thought to himself as he realized he hasn't needed to breathe once since he had been here and turned back to the skeleton human which was doing something that he least expected.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN YOUR FACE!" The thing laughed loudly which sounded surprisingly clear considering half of its throat and vocal cords were gone but that was not Kaden's worries at that moment. Another thing that he realized was the skeleton was a male. Not only from its voice but when Kaden finally looked down from the neck he saw something unpleasant that quickly made him look back up.

'Wait is it reading my mind?' Kaden thought feeling unpleasant after being laughed it and tricked.

"You catch on quickly. That's good." It said to Kaden as to confirm his thoughts.

Kaden was inwardly surprised by this as he had never heard of an ability or something that allowed someone to read another's mind, but he had even more questions than that. For example, where was he? Why was he here? What is that thing?

Questions piled inside his mind and invaded his thoughts seemingly leaking into the mind of the thing as it had a sudden frown on its face, "Hey kid stop with all the questions and thoughts! You're giving me a headache here." It complained rubbing its head as if it was having a migraine.

Kaden immediately stopped with his thoughts as he realized it may not speak with him if he keeps giving him a headache, 'Sorry about that.' Kaden said within his mind.

"No worries kid just be careful next time and oh here you can talk now reading your thoughts is a pain." It said instantly removing the hand from its head as if the pain never happened. It then raised its hand slightly and a bright white energy like substance flowed from its fingertips reaching Kaden's mouth and the instant the energy touched his lip Kaden felt a pressure he never released was there release from his mouth allowing him to speak.

"How did you do that?" Kaden asked confused at how it removed his ability to talk.

"Well you see I used this death energy here to kill all the muscles in your lips and then revived them with my light energy!" It said as it summoned a black ball of energy with its skeletal hand and then the bright white energy once more with its human like hand.

'It's got an amazing ability!' Kaden thought in complete awe of the ability. While there are skills that allow you to harm or affect others, an ability to do such a thing without detection and even undo the effects is quite impressive. What he did to Kaden could possibly just be a small trick to it.

"Hey kid stop calling me it! I have a name you know!" It said as he scrutinized Kaden with his one eye clenched in a glare.

"My name is Darius Black. Also known as the bringer of light and death! It's nice to make your acquaintance!" Darius said taking Kaden's hand and shaking it up and down with vigor.

"Nice to meet you as well my name is Kaden." Kaden said shaking Darius hand back firmly completely ignoring all the nicknames as he had no idea what they meant.

After Kaden shook his hand Darius just sat there dumbfounded and stared at Kaden confused, "Why aren't you freaking out right now? Most people would either start screaming in panic or start bowing in reverence. You know who I am right?" Darius asked uncertain.

Kaden tried to rack his brain for a moment thinking back to all his knowledge of famous ability users and what they were capable of but not a single one matched Darius description despite the hundreds of people and abilities Kaden knows about.

"No, I have no idea who you are." Kaden said bluntly causing Darius to almost fall over in surprise.

"What do you mean! Do they not teach you kids these days about the battles of class titans! What about the light vs the dark war! 1,000 YEARS OF DEATH?" Darius said naming off a bunch of random things that Kaden had no clue about though that last one did sound familiar from a certain show he used to watch.

"Sorry Mr. Darius I have no idea. If it's so grand, why don't you tell me about it?" Kaden said genuinely curious now about him completely forgetting about the rest of his situation.

Hearing Kaden's response Darius smiled with a strange grin which probably would have looked great if not for the fact that half of his face was missing, "I would love to tell you all about it but not yet. For now you a class to attain. Follow me. Oh wait I probably need clothes! My bad it has been a while since I had guest." Darius said laughing at himself materializing a set of comfy looking pants and a robe which covered most of his chest and then turning around walking into the void with Kaden following shaking his head at Darius's behavior.
