5 chapter 4 Blast to the past part 1

Holding the quick spell card Time Travel, he decided to use it to change the past, or rather, to change someone. He only got one month so he will fully use it to meet the important plot characters.

The moment the card touches the ground, his surroundings freeze, stripped of all color, and a portal appears in front of his face. He walks right into it with the dark magician girl.

What greets him is another winter environment like Natsumi village, but this time it's a burned village with a blue-haired girl. Her eyes are completely hollow lack of life, slowly dragging a body with his figure pieced by two iron spears.

She immediately tries to attack him the moment she sees him, but his skill is far too supreme for her. He disarms her and delivers a chop that directly knocks her out.

Looking at the corpse, he knew that this was her father and knew about his creed, "The strong live and the weak die," which would lead to Esdeath's personality in the future. Katsu may not agree with his point of view, but he respected his desire to do what was best for his daughter, so he carried the girl and the corpse to a location outside of this winder land and close to the empire to bury him.

Luckily, the girl didn't wake up, and with the help of the dark magician girl floating in the sky, he quickly escapes this place and sees the sunny sky again. He cut down the trees nearby and built a small wooden house with a dark magician girl. It may not be the best, but at least he can cope with it. He made a grass bed and let her lie down.

Then he placed the corpse and buried him on the ground, not without a tombstone that was perfectly carved with knives that he got from the bandit, but he left the details for Esdeath to do.

Because of not enough space in the house, he makes a barbecue outside. The material is the beast that he hunted. Knowing the Danger beast is edible but he doesn't have the knowledge about cooking this kind of stuff so he hunts some wolves. He may not be as good as a 5-star chef, but thanks to many years of self-learning in his past life (mainly because he was bored, so he took this as a hobby), he can easily open a restaurant if he wanted to, but knowing he is not the type to stick in the kitchen all day, he became a cop.

Despite having a stable job, he didn't have a girlfriend because he locked himself at home after work, but that is in the past. Now he has a cute spirit to accompany him.

Esdeath woke up looking around mostly to find a weapon, and she saw her knife made out of the teeth of a dangerous beast just near her. Picking up the knife, she silently walks to Katsu.

Thinking of ways to strike him, Esdeath suddenly looks at the grave nearby his house. What she sees makes her eyes gain back life. She slowly walks to the grave without any craving, only lilies that Katsu picks up, but Katsu's words from behind wake her up. "I have already done the formal, the rest you can do."

Holding tightly to the knife, she slowly carves the name and information about her father.

After seeing Esdeath is done, he takes out the cooked meat and gives it to her. This time she doesn't fight back. She quietly eats the meat looking at Katsu studying him.

Katsu feels a bit awkward being stared at like some kind of strange creature so he stretches his face making silly faces.

Esdeath didn't expect his sudden action hence, she quickly turned away from his direction holding back the slight smile blooming on her face.

At the very least, she is becoming more open. After finishing her meal, He takes her to a pond nearby that has just been made by a dark magician girl. The book is quite convenient letting her use mana to create material something that she can't do normally. She can make clean water out of thin air with it. She pulls it all together to create this pond.

He then gives her a set of clothes that he borrowed from the village (yes, that is boy's clothes). Instructing her to bathe, she didn't show any rejection and he quickly leave to prepare.

He makes another bed for himself and places it on the other side of the corner opposite Esdeath's bed.

He has another person to find, so he sleeps early to recover his energy. Pulling his blanket, he hugs the adorable Dark Magic Girl and goes to sleep.

Walking back to the house, Esdeath's look of conflict can be seen in her eyes as she looks at the first person to show kindness to her and the knife in her hand before throwing it and hopping to bed to sort out her chaotic mind.

In her dream, she could see the bodies of villages and her father dead, burned, but the voices of the villagers and her father still rang out in her mind. Calling her "weak", she began mumbling herse;f wasn't real, but the voice persisted.She tries beating them, stabbing them, cutting their heads off, but the voices become crueler and more twisted until she is woken up by Katsu.

She feels the warmth of Katsu's hug, but what surprises her more is the knife she threw away is now in her hand stabbing Katsu's body. There are even some scratch marks piecing his clothes. The red liquid of blood is pouring out from the knife into her hand. Her fingernails are full of his blood, but he didn't let her go.

Seeing her emotions were stable, he let go of her and the knife dropped to the ground. Luckily, it didn't hit any vital spots, only flesh wounds, but it is still painful. He just hopes it didn't leave any permanent marks. Now he has to tear his clothes to make a bandage to cover the wound from leaking, but to his surprise, Esdeath takes the ripped clothes and bandages them for him, her eyes full of tears.

"Thank you."

"You shouldn't cry from something like that. You look cuter if you smiled, " he replied, wiping the tears from her face.

She pulls him up as he tries to stand, indicating to him that he should stay with her. He didn't stop her as she pulled him down to the bed and used his shoulder to sleep. Even the floating spirit has to smile at this screen. She hovers down and lays down on the other side of his arm, hugging his arm to sleep like Esdeath.

He was speechless, but in the end, he just let them sleep on his shoulder.
