Chapter 1. Past (1)

Ren walked out of the room and towards the hallway. He saw women dressed in an alluring maid uniform. They were cleaning the house. They bowed politely as soon as they saw Ren.

'I never thought I will see real maids'

He never expected this. It was a rare sight to see in his world. However, anything and everything was possible in a fictional world.

'Come to think of it, I really had described maids working for rich people'

Ren returned back from his train of thoughts and looked at the women. Their faces were indifferent towards him, there were no traces of disgust that he had imagined.

'What happened, I had imagine the maids giving me looks of disgust but there was nothing'

'Do they teach them to hide their emotions or something. No, there were some traces of shyness in their faces'

Looking at the behavior of the maids, he feel confused. He had thought that the maids will look at him with contempt and disgust but they had look at him with normally.

'Wasn't Ren a beast who laid his hands on every girl, Did he not lay any hands on the maid working here'

He felt into a deep thought, in his book Ren was a beast, a rapist and a playboy but since his transmigration he didn't think that he was a pervert. There were some reasons for him to come to that conclusion.

And the third reason, while searching the room, he had also found a mobile phone which was probably Ren's.

He had searched through it and the most strangest thing he finds that they were only two numbers in the phone.

One was Ran jing and other was his father's. There were no messages. He didn't even have social media accounts.

From his understanding, a playboy will have many contacts and most of them would be prostitutes and girls who will be willing to sleep with him but there were none.

At first, he thought that there must be a spare phone but he didn't find anything.

From taking these facts into account, it was most likely that Ren hadn't become a rapist and playboy yet.

He didn't know much about Ren's past as he had not written anything about it. He had assumed Ren as the first villain and a insignificant character. So, there were no backstory for him but seeing the things, he must have a backstory.

'GOD007 is changing the story as he had informed him'

He have to be careful, if the story changed too much he can lose his advantage of knowing the future.

From the things he had seen so far, he had concluded that the plot hadn't started yet.

'There must be some time before the plot starts. I have to know more about Ren, first'

As he was walking around the house he was astonished by the size of it.

'How big is this house?'

It would be right to describe it as a mansion.

As he walking around the mansion, he saw various antiques and pictures on the wall. They were all looking very expensive.

'Where am I'

He had been walking for around 10 minutes but hadn't found the dining room yet. He also can't asked the maids as it will be suspicious.

As he was walking, he suddenly saw the cold beauty from earlier. She was in a hurry and it seems like she was looking for something.

"Ms. Ran jing?"

Seeing me she suddenly looked at me with those cold eyes and said.

"...Where were you? I have been looking for you. Let's go, everyone was waiting for you"

He nervously followed after her. While following behind her, he was thinking of information about her.

As watching Ren's stare at her, Ran jing asked.

"Do you need anything?"

Soon, they reached the dining hall. The dining hall was very big and Ren's family was sitting there.

His father and the current head of the household and the company, Xin Hai Next to him was Ren's stepmother, Yu Lishi as well as her son, Ren stepbrother, Xin Hu. As he entered, all eyes focused on him.

"You are late again, today but at least you came."

Ren's gaze turned toward his father who spoke. The relationship between Ren and his father was very good.

'His father was the only person that Ren listened to. He was not a strict father and greatly worried about him. His health had greatly deteriorated after Ren's death. He wasn't able to handle his son death and soon died too. He had also worked very hard to find about Ren's killer but due to Ran jing and his step brother, the identity of the killer was not known.'

His stepmother who knew that he did not like her and avoided him.

The reason for Ren to not like his stepmother was because she and his father had married 1 year after his mother's death. He thought of her as a vixen and also greatly suspect her of his mother's death.

The next was his stepbrother, his stepbrother was only 13 years old and is just a kid. He was born from his stepmother first marriage. He also had a hand in Ren's killing. The reason for that was because Ren had tried to kidnap his mother and kill her and he had also tried to kill him, that was the reason he had done that. He was just 16 at that time, it must be a hard decision for him to kill someone.

'He was a hard worker and wanted to prove himself to his father. He had also wanted to have a better relationship with his brother. He was a kind person and was a genius in business'

That was the personality of his stepbrother.

"Take a seat."

Ren looked at the feast on the table that did not meet his definition of breakfast and sat down on his seat. He then felt something was odd and lifted his head up.

"Is there something you need to say, father?"

He heard something fall down and made eye contact with his younger brother Xin Hu. He could see that Xin Hu had dropped the fork in his hand.

"My apologies."

Xin Hu calmly apologized like the personality described for him in the novel. The servant in charge of the meal quickly came over to hand Xin Hu a new fork and picked up the fork on the floor. Watching that made Ren think that it was nice to be rich before he focused once again on the food in front of him.

Ren had found the first good thing about coming into his novel. This breakfast was extremely luxurious and so tasty that his stomach was completely happy.

'The food in this world really taste great or is it because I am used to eating anything that I found that high class food to be tasty. No matter what the food is really delicious'

The smile on his face could not disappear.

Ren looked around at all of the dishes in front of him. He then moved his fork towards a salad made of fruits that he did not recognize. After filling his stomach with meat, soup, and bread, he wanted to try something new.

The fruit looked like an orange, but the color was closer to red. Ren put the fruit in his mouth and took a bite.

"Mm."

In that instant, sweet fruit juice filled his mouth. He really hated sour fruits, so this extremely sweet flavor in his mouth made him subconsciously start to drool.

At that moment, he made eye contact with his father, who was looking at him.

"Ren"

Xin Hai quietly called Ren's name before hesitating. He then started to frown and move his mouth. Ren did not like that awkward atmosphere and started to speak.

"It's delicious."

"Yes, it tastes like...huh? Did you say it is delicious?"

"Yes. Everything tastes wonderful."

Ren picked up a different fruit this time and smiled after tasting the sweetness in his mouth once again.

Xin Hai actually had a smile on his face as he started to nod his head.

"Yes, it really is delicious. It is nice to see you enjoying food so much."

Xin Hai really seemed like the only person who cared for Ren. He didn't even seem to care about Ren's lack of manners. Well, a truly caring father should probably try to fix this personality of Ren… but this Ren did not care as he was not the real Ren and will not cause trouble for his family.

"Yes. Please make sure you eat a lot as well, father."

Xin Hu let out another, 'Hah,' and Ren, who heard it this time, turned his gaze back to the dishes. The 13 year old Xin Hu. The three years younger brother of the Ren.

Unlike the trash Ren, he was smart, sincere, and very responsible. Many people wanted Xin Hu to be the next head of household and inherit his father's properties. He also agreed with this sentiment even after turning into Ren.

"Ren, come with me to the study?"

Ren was confused at his father sudden invitation to the study.
