Many people would find it hard to understand Tiger and Hera. A part of their hearts sometimes wished the other was dead, but the other part of their hearts couldn't stand the thought. They had put each other in misery to save each other. 

It was ironic and almost incomprehensible. 

They wanted to take away each other's pain because they couldn't stand it. However, they wouldn't support each other in doing what the other want. Because at the end of the day, what they wanted was something they shouldn't even dream of.
