8 Chapter 8: Lunch Break

Luo Ning used most of the free points he got on the second floor to upgrade his ability. Right now, Luo Ning can only use the Holy Letter's power to imagine basic things like food and clothes.

Forget powerful weapons - that's out of the question for now.

Still, it was a good start. Luo Ning imagined a chicken leg.

"It takes a little more free points to imagine something permanent, but it's worth it!"

Luo Ning looked at the chicken leg in his hand, his eyes gleaming. He hadn't eaten much since being captured, and he was hungry.

"Too bad fantasizing about permanent special stuff costs way too much. I can't handle that yet."

Imagined things are fake, so making them permanent isn't a big deal. The problem is, it uses a ton of free points. Even just food and basic stuff takes a lot.

Powerful stuff is a long way off. For now, Luo Ning is focused on essentials like food. He's still human, after all, and he can't just imagine his way out of hunger.

Most of Luo Ning's free points went into upgrading his ability. He spent the rest on boosting his strength and Reiatsu.

Right now, Luo Ning was in full hunter mode, and this deep sea prison was his personal hunting ground.

He didn't leave right away. Instead, he focused on imagining a giant feast. Thanks to his body upgrades, his appetite had grown monstrous.

The smell of delicious food wafted through the prison, turning the other prisoners' eyes red with hunger. They wanted to grab it, but their cells held them captive.

Even if they could get out, facing the guy who just took down all those beasts, they wouldn't dare snatch his food.

"What kind of power is that? You can make food appear out of nowhere! Buddy, share some with me, and I'll tell you where a treasure is!"

The constant scent of food was driving some prisoners crazy. After all, their usual meals were nothing but low-quality bread, barely enough to survive. Their only option was stealing, like what happened to Luo Ning back on the first floor.

Now, Luo Ning was conjuring things they'd never seen before - roast chicken, duck, and all sorts of delicacies from his past life.

Luo Ning ignored their pleas. He wasn't interested in treasures. All he craved was freedom.

Luo Ning munched for over ten minutes, building a mountain of bones beside him.

"This appetite would've ruined me back home!" he chuckled, shaking his head. Scary as it was, he still seemed to have a long way to go compared to some of the world's legendary gluttons.

"Almost forgot," he said, spotting the other prisoners. "Even a tiny mosquito is still meat. Time for a nap, everyone!"

About to leave, Luo Ning grinned. These guys could contribute freedom points too, not much each, but hey, every bit helps.

With that thought, his Reiatsu exploded, surging far stronger than on the first floor. His training had paid off – both his Reiatsu and physical strength had seen a massive boost.

Some prisoners who recognized Conqueror's Haki caught the word in their minds before succumbing to the pressure, falling unconscious instantly.

No one on the second floor remained awake.

"Out cold, huh? Looks like my Reiatsu really took a leap forward" Satisfied, Luo Ning surveyed the unconscious prisoners in their cells.

Back on the first floor, Luo Ning couldn't knock out all the prisoners with his Reiatsu. Here, on the second floor, the prisoners were stronger, yet they were all still fell unconscious.

Then, a thunderous roar echoed through the halls.

"Sphinx? You woke up from my Reiatsu?" Luo Ning recognized the roar instantly. It was the Sphinx, the second floor's ruler - a giant lion with an odd appearance.

Luo Ning's Reiatsu hadn't knocked the beast out - it had woken it up.

"What happened here? Was that Conqueror's Haki just now?" Hannyabal, alerted by the disturbance, arrived with reinforcements. He'd felt the surge of power too, though the distance had lessened its impact.
