160 Sorry, Clark

================

"Mom, what's wrong?"

With the younger son around, there was no need to worry about farm work. Just now, Jonathan was casually watching TV in the living room, while Martha was doing the dishes.

Suddenly, a wave of spiritual energy swept through the town.

The Green Lantern Rings on their hands suddenly lit up, activating the protection program to shield them from the maddening spiritual energy.

Jonathan was so focused on the TV show hosted by a funny host that didn't even notice the ring's glow.

But Martha, washing dishes, was startled as her ring suddenly lit up without warning. Her hand shook due to the surprise, and she dropped a plate, which shattered on the floor.

"It's nothing, the ring just lit up, which scared me."

She stroked her chest, sighing in relief, and bent down to pick up the pieces.

"Mom, I'll take care of it."

David waved his hand, and the plate fragments flew into the kitchen waste bin automatically.

Seeing his parents unharmed, he felt relieved.

'It was indeed right to take a few Green Lantern Rings from the smurfs to protect my parents.'

Without the rings, the two of them with the Dionysian factor in their bodies, would not be afraid of hurting each other. However, they might end up like those in the city—cursing, accusing, attacking, and even harming each other with weapons. It would undoubtedly leave them with unpleasant memories.

"David, about this ring...?"

Jonathan hesitated, holding up the glowing ring.

Their son had mentioned that these rings had an automatic protection function against attacks, and now it seemed to have been triggered. However, there was no sign of any threat in the room, not even a mosquito.

"Someone used some method to cover and attack the minds of people in Metropolis. Now there are riots everywhere in the city."

David looked towards the city.

The psychic power of the Psycho-Pirate was extremely powerful. However, when he attacked the entire city, the energy was dispersed a lot, allowing ordinary people to vent their emotions madly. However, even the spontaneous protection of the rings couldn't be broken through, not to mention David's mental barrier.

Like a gentle breeze passing through a fortress, he felt nothing.

"What?"

Jonathan and Martha were shocked to hear this news and looked at each other with shock and worry.

Metropolis had millions of inhabitants. How many would be injured or killed in this riot?

'The chaos is spreading, and its center is...'

David sensed through the remote gravity field which formed colorless and soundless images in his mental world.

The psychic wave continued to sweep toward some towns far from Metropolis, allowing him to pinpoint its location.

'The center of the expanded circular range should be where the anomaly started!'

In that area!

David instantly locked onto the chaotic epicenter in the wave, knowing that the person responsible was there.

"Mom, Dad, stay here. I'll go and handle this matter."

He turned to his worried parents, spoke a word, and flew out of the house. Accelerating instantly, he broke the sound barrier, heading towards a specific block in the center of Metropolis.

'If I hadn't obtained the Green Lantern Ring, how would today have turned out?'

His parents were within the range of the attack, and David's heart was filled with anger. Like a shooting star, he flew over the city, finally arriving above a bank.

Found it!

During his flight, he quickly scanned the entire block.

Everyone's behavior was abnormal, except for one person in the bank, floating in the air with closed eyes, releasing waves of psychic energy. Most importantly, there was someone inside that David knew all too well, standing still, and who knew what he was doing.

Here, the psychic power released by the Psycho-Pirate was at its strongest. David could already feel it, like gusts of roaring wind blowing against his mental barrier.

"It's here!"

A bat-shaped aircraft passed through the sky. Batman piloted his Batplane with the Flash inside, and Cyborg flew alongside the plane. They reviewed the city's surveillance footage and easily identified where the anomaly first occurred.

The Justice League promptly mobilized to save the city.

"Beyonder, Superman is also in the bank. It seems he's being controlled by something."

Cyborg flew to David's side and quickly warned him, and looked solemnly inside of the bank.

Is this the mastermind behind the chaos engulfing the minds of millions of Metropolis residents?

What kind of powerful force is this? Will it also affect his 80% mechanical body?

"I know."

David, aware of Clark's situation, reached out across space. An invisible gravitational hand tore off the bank's roof and threw it aside, causing the ground to tremble. He looked inside.

Bang!

"Flash, leave this place and go stop the riots in the city."

The heavy and imposing Fenrir battle armor dropped from the hovering Batplane. Batman manipulated the mech, turning to instruct the Flash.

The chaos and darkness in Metropolis was now a thousand times greater than that of Gotham's. People could be dying every second under the madness of others' violence. The Flash was the best choice to prevent citizens from harming each other.

"I understand!"

The Flash shouted and jumped down from the hovering aircraft. His form turned into a red streak of lightning, departing from the surrounding blocks with incredible speed. Time seemed to slow down to billions of times in his eyes.

Thrown coffee cups, swung baseball bats, and bullets accompanied by the smoke of gunpowder—all seemed to freeze in time.

He gently caught the bullet, diverted the baseball bat about to hit a child's face, and tripped the man about to punch someone across from him.

The Flash intervened to prevent violence and danger wherever he saw it, and when he had to, resorting to using a hand chop to render people unconscious.

"Beyonder?"

The somewhat glaring noon sunlight shone on his face. Realizing that someone was trying to stop him, the Psycho-Pirate had to cease releasing the invading psychic wave. He calmly opened his eyes, looking towards the sky, a smile playing on his lips.

"Another bodyguard has arrived. It just so happens that this city is already covered almost entirely."

"And Batman, the Flash, and Cyborg too. Most of the Justice League members are here. It's quite lively."

He glanced outside and didn't attempt to control the few people.

After controlling David as well, he intends to have these superheroes perform a life-and-death struggle in front of him.

"The renowned superheroes turning their destructive attacks against their own teammates—what an interesting scene that would be!"

Hmph!

As soon as he finished speaking, the Psycho-Pirate launched an attack. A torrent of psychic energy surged towards David. While observing if Clark was okay, David showed no abnormalities, and his cold eyes were immediately drawn toward him.

"Is this all your doing?"

The Psycho-Pirate's expression changed. He once again unleashed a more ferocious and violent mental intrusion, but the overwhelming waves, capable of shattering rocks, seemed to crash against an impenetrable wall, breaking into splashes of foam.

"How are you not affected at all?"

He stepped back.

Even though the previous psychic wave had consumed a lot of his mental strength, David shouldn't be unaffected like nothing happened.

"Your psychic power is indeed strong enough to affect an entire city, but it's still not enough against me now."

David's eyes shot out cosmic energy with a terrifying temperature towards the Psycho-Pirate. Evading in embarrassment, the Pirate's retreat caused the energy beam to hit a corner of the bank, turning reinforced concrete into molten lava and iron.

This guy's psychic power was so strong that it could even break through his original mental defense capabilities.

But within the combined power of the six gods, Achilles' Courage, in addition to the invulnerable body, also had the ability for mental resistance, which effectively blocked the psychic attack that could have controlled anyone.

"Thoughts are sometimes faster than the speed of light."

Anticipating and evading David's attack, the Psycho-Pirate's eyes glinted with fierceness.

"I don't believe you can withstand the power of my mind!"

He exerted all his strength, and a colossal wave of psychic energy, as if capable of destroying everything, surged towards David's mind.

A slight tingling sensation reached David's brain cortex. He frowned, but the next moment, he shook his head, shaking off the discomfort. Carrying the power of wind and thunder, he threw a punch at the Psycho-Pirate, who widened his eyes in fear.

"It's impossible, damn it!"

The Psycho-Pirate, who always thought he had control of the situation, flashed an enraged look. He hurriedly changed tactics to manipulate psychic power to attack David.

The mental resistance of this Beyonder was much stronger than he had imagined. Manipulating him to become his puppet was now impossible!

"Invisible!"

David, who was enveloped in lightning, emitted a powerful aura that made it difficult to breathe. The Psycho-Pirate hesitated and chose not to confront David head-on.

Veins bulged on his forehead as he pushed his psychic abilities to the limit. Finally, he used illusions to obscure David.

The majestic psychic power turned into a layer of a hallucinatory veil, covering an unshakable mountain.

In mid-air, David, seemingly without any inertia, suddenly stopped moving. He frowned and looked around, but the Psycho-Pirate's figure disappeared.

Dozens of meters away, the Psycho-Pirate lightly landed on the other side of the street outside the bank. His face looked unpleasant, and he looked close to constipation. He pressed his fingers tightly against his temples, trying to gather his focus.

'I never thought that one day, using the simplest mental invisibility, which is usually effortless, would require all my strength to barely succeed. This guy, if not for the fact that psychic power can only defend, would be even more terrifying than me as a psychic user!'

He looked at the figure in the bank's mid-air, a deep sense of fear flickering in his eyes.

For example, psychic power is like the torso of a human body—basically, everyone has a torso. However, someone like him, a psychic user, is like having hands growing out of that torso—able to throw punches, pick up things from the ground, paint, carve, and do various things that ordinary people cannot.

When he used his fists to attack David, it felt like an ordinary person's punch hitting the muscular body of a heavyweight boxer. Even though the boxer didn't have hands, the attack, besides causing a bit of pain, did not inflict any substantial damage.

The Psycho-Pirate couldn't imagine how formidable David would be if he did have 'hands'. A simple jab might knock him unconscious.

"Where did he go?"

Cyborg and Batman saw the man with the ancient orange bone mask disappear. They immediately utilized infrared scans, scanning the surroundings, but found nothing.

Compared to the difficulty of obscuring David, the Psycho-Pirate effortlessly concealed himself from the two.

"Now, it's time for you to make a move, Clark!

Let me see if you, as the older brother, can defeat your little brother!"

The Psycho-Pirate's eyes were sinister.

Even if he lost, it didn't matter. As long as he could buy time for himself, he still had two "trump cards" he just learned about not long ago.

"Brainiac, let go of my brother!"

In the bank, Clark, who had been standing still, opened his eyes. It seemed as if he saw the most dangerous scene, and with a roar of anger, he flew towards David, aiming to intercept him.

"Don't you dare hurt him!"

Bang!

A terrifying shockwave exploded, overturning the counters and sofas inside the bank.

Two figures collided in an instant, and it seemed as if David, who was searching for the Psycho-Pirate's figure, had been hit by a high-speed train. He crashed through the wall like a block of soil, soaring into the sky above the city. The wind roared in his ears.

"What you say doesn't match your actions at all, Clark!"

With his arms wrapped around him, David looked at Clark, whose eyes were bloodshot, as if he wanted to kill.

He wasn't surprised by this scene. Since that guy could create illusions and even deceive him, manipulating Clark's mind and senses was like playing a game. Creating an illusion in Clark's mind about someone going to kill him was a walk in the park.

Clark didn't know that the monster he was trying to push out of the Earth while shouting to protect his brother, was in fact, his brother.

It was good that it was David. If it were anyone else, they would have been turned into minced meat by now.

"Brainiac?"

Repeating the name with a cold tone, David's eyes revealed a dark murderous intent as he looked down at the street below.

Telepathy was the most basic psychic ability. The guy below had psychic abilities that could even influence the minds of millions of people. Sensing someone's thoughts and peering into someone's memories was as easy as breathing for him.

How did that guy know that Brainiac and him being in danger from him would drive Clark crazy?!

'Clark's memories have probably been completely seen through by this guy. The identity of our parents must also be...'

"Shazam!"

Thinking up to this point, David shouted loudly.

A powerful bolt of divine thunder descended from the sky.

His face changed back to a younger appearance.

Clark, about to push him into outer space, was struck by the terrifying thunder, his skin turning red, smoke emanating from his body. In an uncontrollable rage, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted and fell to the ground.

"Sorry, Clark. The situation was urgent."

With a loud shout, David reverted to the state of divine empowerment, catching Clark in mid-air.

Even though his current strength surpassed that of young Clark by more than twice, this was the only way of subduing him in an instant.

'The Six Powers have a hidden ultimate move, which is the divine thunder transformation when shouting 'Shazam.' It is almost the most powerful attack they can unleash. However, this is also the most dangerous time for the power's owner, such as the original Captain Marvel, who was just an ordinary middle school student named Billy Batson.

Any powerful opponent he had to face during the transformation could easily kill him while he returned to his mortal state.'

However, he did not face such risks.

Even without the Six Powers, David still possessed the power to slay gods.

He reached out across the void.

'Gravity elimination!'

The blocks within a radius seemed to lose gravity all at once, and people ascended into the sky.

[Template integration reached 74%]

The higher integration of the template gave David new ways to apply his abilities, granting him more precise and powerful control over gravity. However, the new application of abilities was not useful at this moment.

"Superman? What is the Beyonder going to do?"

Just as they were shocked by Superman being instantly knocked out, Batman and Cyborg were also pulled into the sky.

"Impossible!"

The remote control grabbing the couple from Smallville encountered some resistance, while the Beyonder, facing his controlled older brother, displayed no signs of being tied down and effortlessly subdued Superman with a single strike!

The mentally recovered Psychic Pirate had a look of shock on his face. He never dreamed that the Beyonder would be so much more powerful than Superman. He thought he could at least delay him for a while.

Buzz!

An invisible force reached out, and the Psychic Pirate instinctively resisted. How could he let that terrifying guy just grab him?

"Not good!"

But in the next second, his face turned pale, pupils trembling, seemingly realizing the most terrifying thing in the world.

'Supergravity Field!'

As if a God was casually grabbing tens of thousands of people into the sky, David immediately pressed down heavily.

The terrifying mountain-like gravity pressed down hard!

Boom!

Towering skyscrapers, reaching hundreds of meters, were instantly pressed down and crushed like sheets of paper. It was as if an unseen giant arm ruthlessly slammed down, the solid asphalt roads were crushed into fine powder, vehicles on the streets were smashed into sheets of metal, and the earth sank more than ten meters, pressed as tightly as steel!

"Is this... Is this a joke?"

A huge sound reverberated for miles, and the earth trembled. The Flash, who was traversing the city, suddenly stopped and turned to look, seeing rolling dust and debris rushing toward him, and his mouth was wide open as his voice cracked in shock.

In an instant, as if God was wrathful, everything on the ground for miles ceased to exist!
