19 Underestimated

"Spidy! Help!!!" the boy tried to ask for help once more.

The spider who was trying to defend against the skeleton's attack could only try to crawl toward the helpless boy.

"This boy is helpless," Char grinned as the skeleton attacked the spider from behind.

"Zhaa..." The spider screeched once more, but it continued to crawl toward Char. It tried its best to protect the boy.

The skeleton's last attack cut the spider's abdomen, black blood flowed out of it.

It did not stop attacking and continued to strike, but this time it cut another leg from the spider, it did not take long for the spider to run out of leg and could only lay on the floor.

"This is the place you belong!" Char pulled at the boy's hair and let him see as the skeleton behead the spider using its sword.

"Your spider can't even win against a skeleton! That is the reality you are in!" he told the boy.

"No! You are cheating! You kept attracting its attention! If it's fighting one on one against the skeleton, then there is no way my spider would lose against a skeleton like your summon!" The boy said in denial.

"You are in denial! The arena is a fight for summoners and their summons to fight, not a ring where summoned creatures fight each other like an animal! The only reason your spider lost is that you are weak! You are a burden! In the end, the summoner decide is stronger, it just proves you are weaker than me!" he said harshly.

"The winner is Char and his Skeleton!!!" an announcer said loudly that the whole arena could hear him.

"What? How is it possible? Did he fight a goblin or a slime?" people started questioning when they heard that a skeleton had won in the arena.

"No! Look, he won against a ranker! The summoned creature is a giant spider!" another pointed out.

"What? How can a giant spider lose against such a weak creature as a skeleton? It can destroy bones just with one leg!" another asked in disbelief.

"I saw their fight! The Spider's summoner is an idiot. He got beaten up without a fight, he kept interrupting the spider that it lost half of its legs within three minutes of the fight!" another said.

"What an idiot. He just stands there and gets beaten up! He did not even pull out his weapon! He is a disgrace for a ranker! He should not be there, to begin with!" another said in disdain.

Everyone thought that Char won because the boy was weak. There is no one who thinks that he actually won with his skill and power.

The boy was in ranking means he could actually be better than most students that were not in the ranking, the spider could carry it up the rank.

They did not even entertain the notion of Char actually stronger than they are; they think the boy was just too weak.

At the rank board, the boy's name glows, and it was replaced by Char's name. Once the light faded, people suddenly had a realization.

"Move! Don't block my way!" a boy ran to the booth to register a challenge.

"If it's against a skeleton, then I will surely be able to win and become a ranker!" the boy thought.

"Wait up!" another boy realized. Soon, there was a wave running toward the booth, trying to apply a challenge first.

"Get out of the way! That rank is mine, no one is taking it away from me!" they started to fight with each other.

Char could not enjoy his win because of the commotion, "Damn, no one recognizes my strength, they are still looking down on me!" he lamented.

"It looks like I need to fight stronger opponents before they will recognize my strength!" he thought.

It was then his arena card vibrated; he pulled it out of his pocket and saw a rank on it. Additionally, there was a challenge invitation for him.

There was also a warning that the challenger's rank was lower than his, so if he declines, it will be counted as a loss.

"Alright then, I will fight once more. The last fight did not even feel like a fight after all," he stretched his body.

The challenger was a boy that summons a thunder rat; the rant was as big as a dog and it could discharge electricity at a short distance.

"Huh? They just think I'm easy, but never think about our compatibility! How did he think that Skeleton will react to the thunder attack?" Char mused as his opponent came to the arena after he agreed to the fight.

"Hi! And thank you for the rank! I will take it from you!" the boy in front of him said in confidence.

"There is no need to thank me since you are going to lose," he replied.

The fight started with the summoner coming after Char with his sword while the rat ran at the skeleton with thunder covering its body.

It did not last long as the skeleton didn't feel any shock or pain from the thunder, it just split the rat in two when it collided with it to shocked it with lightning.

"The winner is Char and his skeleton!" another announcement resounded.

"That boy is also an idiot! He did not even know that the skeleton can't be shocked or feel pain. His summoned creature is really incompatible!" the other commented.

"I will show you then! My creature is really good for fighting a skeleton!" another boy said as he went to the booth to issue a challenge.

Char could only shake his head and accept the challenge, "How many more fights do I need to do before they will learn that I'm not weak?" he lamented.

Everyone who challenged him was those without ranking. He could beat them easily with his sword and his skeleton.

"Well, I come here for fighting experiences. Thanks to them, I can gather a lot of experience. But sadly, I can only gain so much against weak opponents like them," Char thought.
