18 Lesson

"Oh! I would love to see how you will show me my place!" Char said sarcastically at his former friend.

Mana gathered around both of them as they summoned their own creature. A giant spider appeared beside the fat boy.

Other than its size a bit bigger than a goat, the spider did not look any different from a common house spider.

It looked a bit bigger because of its long feet, but that was expected of a giant spider. It had six eyes, and each of them glinted threateningly at Char.

"Spider is a natural predator, if I am to fight it on my own, then there is no doubt I will die miserably. But my skeleton is different," he grinned as the referee signaled them to start fighting.

Char commanded the skeleton to go after the spider while he went after the boy. The fight was to kill each other summoned creature, but it would be better if he took care of the boy first.

He dashed at the boy with his sword in hand while the boy still had not put up his defense.

"Eh? Spidy! Help!" The boy screamed for help when he hurriedly tried to draw his own sword.

Char felt the wind brush against his cheek when he felt a great danger coming. He turned his head to the side to find the spider had closed the distance between them.

"Fuck! It's so fast!" Char cursed as he turned to block the spider legs coming toward him.

He blocked its feet with his sword but the impact still sent him rolling on the ground. He quickly got to his feet before another attack came at him.

But the follow-up attack never came as the skeleton already blocking the giant spider.

"Boot! Fight me!" he taunted.

"No! Why do I need to fight when my spider can fight!" he replied.

It was then that Char noticed something, "I see, that's why he is still at the lower rank while having a giant spider! He never tries to fight from the beginning!"

The boy's stance and battle readiness were the worst he had ever seen, not even those in his class were that bad.

The spider used its long foot like a spear and tried to stab the skeleton, but it used its sword to divert the foot before it counterattacked at it.

"That's it, cut its foot first!" Char thought as hurting the spider's main body was impossible without cutting its feet first.

The sword's sharp edge was about to touch the spider's legs when the spider's body suddenly darkened.

To their surprise, the sword bounced back without being able to leave a mark on the spider's body.

Unlike during training, the skeleton was using a real sword, it should be able to cut the spider leg even only a bit.

"Hardening magic! The giant spider should not have such magic!" Char was shocked by the spider's ability.

Normally, spider's magic would be poison magic, concealment magic, or in some rare case was intimidation magic.

"You are surprised, right? This is one of the magic you told me about! One thing I'm glad about from trying to befriend you before is that you told me about all the magic ideas you had! This hardening magic is one of them!" The fat boy flexed his magic.

"Damn, idiot! He actually changed his spider magic for hardening magic! If he used the spider's actual magic, then it would help it get stronger than he is right now! Spider hunt using trickery such as poison and concealment for a reason after all!" Char jeered in his mind.

He ran after the boy once again and just as he expected; the boy called the spider once more to defend him.

Char had prepared for it, and he pivoted his foot and turned toward the spider that was coming toward him.

"You are too predictable, old friend!" he sneered as he raised his sword on top of his head and swung it down at the spider's lag that was about to hit him.

Mana covered his blade as he activated the physical boost magic. It collided with the spider's hardened leg but rather than being bounced back; it cut off the spider leg.

It screeched as black blood flowed out of its missing leg, but before it could have its revenge, the skeleton already got to its back and activated the same magic as Char used.

Rather than a vertical strike like he did, the skeleton cut horizontally, and it took two of the spider's lag with the strike.

"Zhaaa," The spider screeched to the sky once more. It tried to turn toward the skeleton and kicked it away, but it moved to the side and the kick only hit one of its hands.

It blew one of its hands away but the skeleton did not flinch; it activated its magic once more and cut at the spider's extended leg.

Black blood was covering the arena floor as the spider had lost half of its feet. It raised one of its remaining feet to hit the skeleton once more, but it back-stepped the strike.

"Spidy! You stupid spider! Hit its head!" the fat boy commanded in rage when he saw how miserable the spider looked.

Char suddenly appears in front of the boy. He hit the unprepared boy with the hilt of his sword.

"Ah! What are you doing," The boy screamed.

"I'm giving you a lesson of where you belong," he replied in sarcasm.

Char kept hitting the boy in the face with his sword's hilt. The boy raised both of his hands to protect his face. He did not even try to pull out his sword.

"Spidy! Help!" He called for the spider.

It could not go against the command and reluctantly turned away from the skeleton. It proved fatal, as the skeleton used the chance to cut another foot.

Its movement speed had been reduced greatly as it lost most of its feet. It tumbled down once the skeleton's sword cut through its foot.

Char glanced over at the spider before he continued to beat up the boy.
