"Char! a little help here?" Anne shouted at him for help as the other orcs starting to free themselves from the mud pit.

The mud golem had most run out of mana so it could not maintain the magic much longer, without the mana, orcs could get out of the pit easily.

Just like before, they did not run away even though the supposed leader died. Luckily, there seems to be no more knight-tier orc in the horde. If there was one, then it should have come out before Char killed the orc.

"Aya, go recover your mana, I will help them," he told the girl as they had to spend a lot of mana fighting the orc.

"I can fight even without using magic," she pulled out a rapier from her side, it glimmered under the light.

She sliced up some random orc as easy as using a hot knife to cut butter. With his heightened perception of mana thanks to his mana absorption magic, he could sense mana covering the sword, but it was not from her.

"Magic item! How much did she spend to get a magic item that has its own mana supply? It's at least five hundred mana crystals!" Char was almost salivating when he saw the weapon.

It was almost as sharp as his sword, with a physical boost at full power! Even though he was confident to beat the girl in a sword fight, it was still enviable to have such an expensive weapon.

"The rich are really different, they're basically born with a cheat code-named money!" he laughed in his heart.

Char was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he barely got any spoon in his mouth, he had to work hard to have everything.

Being the best in the academy gave him a lot of privileges, but he needed to work hard for them. His sudden fall from the academy's favor proved this to be true.

The moment Char was no longer the best in the academy, he lost every privilege given to him. He did not even amount to anything in the teacher's eyes.

Past accomplishment meant nothing if he didn't have any future ahead of him!

Char started to go on a killing spree once more, his speed in killing the creature was not as fast as before, as he was tired and running low in mana, but the biggest reason he got slower was that he was being careful so he won't fall in the same position as before.

He did not want to find himself running into another knight-tier orc that could split him within a second.

Blood and gore started to replace the mud as they had killed an uncountable amount of creatures. They needed to mind their step so they would not stumble on a pool of blood and intestine.

"Damn it! There is no end to them!" Char complained as they had been fighting for hours, but the orc kept coming for them.

Without the cave as a bottleneck, everyone needed to fight numerous enemies at one time!

The group was having a hard time continue fighting forever, but Char was different.

He had recovered enough to mana during the fight that his pace was getting faster and he could heal his injuries or healing error that happened during Aya's first aid session.

"I can continue fighting but the other would not be able to last any longer!" Char realized as the number of orcs kept increasing instead of decreasing.

Without the mud pit, their one-way fight would soon turn to a full-blown war, and the other was pretty much running low on mana.

"We need to keep moving! Anne, you go to the back and be our rearguard, I will open the way, everyone follows me!" Char decided to continue their journey while fighting.

With him as the spearhead, they continue toward the edge of the hunting ground. Char did not even know how many orcs he had slain, he just cut down everything blocking his path.

"Char! there is something coming from behind! My imp detect a very strong heat source!" Anne shouted from the back, warning him.

"Can we outrun it!?" Char asked as he cut down another orc with his black sword.

"I don't think so, it's almost upon us! And it is very strong, probably knight-tier!" she replied.

"Let's hold our ground then, it will be bad if we get hit from behind," he decided as he pulled out his sword.

Char could feel a threatening aura coming from the way they came from. It was even more terrifying than the orc berserker he fought before.

"What in the world is that? Don't tell me it's a baronet-tier creature?" he tightened his grip on the sword.

Even they could sense the scorching hot air coming toward them, "Look over there!" Aya pointed at the sky as a figure closing toward them.

It's a giant dragon that sprayed fire to the ground, burning every orc in its path into ashes. The orc could not even resist as they could not reach the dragon before getting burned.

"It's a dragon! What should we do!? Will it burn us too?" they started to get panicked.

The wind from its wing pushed them back as it stopped just in front of them, the dragon's scale was black and its eyes were scarlet, it sent dread to their very being.

"I was wrong, there is no way this is only a baronet-tier, it possibly a baron-tier or even count-tier!" Char looked wide-eyed.

Despair started to come upon them as there was no way they could survive an encounter with such a high-level creature.

The orcs all around them were stunned by the dragon's appearance, but they soon recovered and tried to attack the creature that just landed before them.

Seeing the lowly creatures' impunity, the dragon roared to the sky, sending a shock wave through the sky, and the orcs fell to their knees, unable to raise even a finger.

The group of students could feel some weight on their shoulders, but it was only a slight weight as the roar was not pointed at them.
