3 First Lesson

Aside from wondering why I couldn't remember the moon losing 70% of it's mass, I wondered how Japan was even still on the map. Without the moon to control the tides, the oceans surrounding Japan would just flow over and submerge the majority of the nation. Tsunamis killing hundreds of thousands of people...yet none of it's on the news or in my memories? I...I guess that's anime logic, for you. Makes no sense at all.

Pulling my thoughts away from that, for now, I focused back on the front of the class, just like my peers. The classroom was completely silent and none of us really understood how to reply to the yellow Octopus man in front of us and what he'd said.

Karasuma audibly sighed and took a step forward, "What I'm about to say is top-class and confidential. You cannot tell your parents, your siblings or your friends about any of what I'm about to say," he started with a serious expression, "Cutting straight to the point: I want you to kill this monster!" he gave a resolute shout and I dropped my head into my hands, shaking it at the absurdity of the situation I'd found myself in.

"Eh? What's that, old man? You want me to kill that Octopus Alien? Is he strong?" I heard a tomboyish but feminine voice from the back of class and I turned around to see the person I was least happy to be in a class with.

Momoyo Kawakami.

Karasuma looked to Momoyo and went to speak but was cut off by the yellow octopus 'alien' who'd gone a little red--No, no, not like flustered red like a normal person but rather that he was literally a pale red all over--"Hey, that's really rude! I was born and raised on Earth, you know?!" he retorted, though it was very clear that no one really believed him.

Well, I did but that's before I knew who he was before he was merged with the antimatter tentacles.

Even then I just kept my face blank. I'd rather not give away anything too showing right now. Emotion wise, at least.

Everyone ignored the yellow (red) octopus which only made it shift into a deeper red but Karasuma spoke up, "Yes. We, the Japanese Government, beseech you students to kill this monster," he bowed to us, showing the seriousness of the situation before he stood up straight and spoke further, "We don't know his goal but the government reluctantly accepted his proposal of becoming a teacher. Our reasons are twofold: First, he will come to this classroom every day as a teacher, meaning we can observe him whenever he's here. Secondly...with the 21 of you here, we'll have a chance to train personnel to kill him from point-blank range. Some of you are some of the most capable youths we could find. So...please," he said before he went quiet.

Everyone else was also quiet and I could see a few people looking either confused, uncomfortable or straight-up disbelieving of the situation.

...Well, I guess it's time to step up, huh?

"Soooo...there any kind of reward for killing our new Teacher and saving the world?" I asked, sounding somewhat bored with the situation. I mean, I kinda was - why? Because I'd already read and watched this part of the series a few times. But to everyone else, it probably sounded like I was pretty indifferent with the situation at hand, so I got a few weird looks.

Karasuma also gave me the same look before he cleared his throat and replied for the whole class to hear, "You will each be given ten billion yen in compensation for completing this job. It's an appropriate sum because, like you said, you'd be saving the world." He stepped away from the podium before standing in front of it and addressing us more directly, "Fortunately, this guy's looking down on you all. No matter of how talented we assured him some of you are, he'll continue to be like this."

"Of course!" the octopus man said, "There's no way any of you will be able to kill me when the government themselves have failed! They tried to attack me with state-of-the-art fighter jets...and I gave them a mid-air waxing instead! That's the sort of speed you're up against, kids! So, think of me more as a teacher than an assassination target, please~!" his voice was incredibly playful and very nonchalant for a teacher, so I chose to ignore it and posed another question.

"I assume you're going to be providing us with weapons, right? Or do you think I can kill him with a pencil?" I posed a question, raising my pencil for effect, though my face still looked somewhat indifferent.

Karasuma looked at me, a little longer this time before he looked to the door, "Bring them in," he said, "Yes, we will provide you with weapons able to kill him but are completely harmless to you."

At this point, the attention of the class, the agents and the new teacher were all on me. The fact I was able to calmly speak and ask proper questions seemed to be quite surprising to them, and I guess it was quite surprising given the circumstances. More importantly, Sensei waddled over to me and looked down at me with his 3m tall body.

I was at the front of the class, so it wasn't hard for him to do so. He looked at me for a few seconds before flashing away and returning with what looked like a list on a clipboard.

"...Takuya Kuroda, correct?" he asked and I gave a simple nod, "Hmm. You weren't specifically picked for this class, but you sure show promise, you know? Being able to stay calm in a situation like this is hard even for adults. Just look at those two agents behind me sweating so much just because I moved before they could even react!" he let out a weird laugh before waddling back to his original position.

I, on the other hand, stood up and walked over to the new people entering the door. They were carrying what looked like weapon racks and each of them contained either green knives, BB guns or clips of ammo.

The agents carrying them saw my approach and looked confused before looking to Karasuma who just gestured to them that it was okay.

Picking up one of the green knives, I bent it a little with my hands, "Feels a little like rubber," I mused out loud before smiling for the first time in this lesson, "Hey, sensei...mind if I give my go at the class' first attempt on your life?" I asked while kicking off my school shoes and then kicking off my socks as well.

Sensei looked at me, his grin somehow looking confused despite not changing in the slightest before he looked back to the clipboard, "I really wonder how you're supposed to be one of the more normal students, Kuroda-kun...but yes, you may go--"

He was interrupted when he was forced to dodge the first knife thrust. I clicked my tongue before spinning around on the balls of my feet and flicked out my foot. The attack wouldn't do any damage even if it hit but that wasn't the point of the kick. The point of the kick was to build up more momentum and speed - and if it did hit? Well, it'd be a bonus I guess.

But as expected, sensei dodged without even seeming to try and I brought myself back around, using the momentum from the kick to slash out with the knife as my foot came back to the ground. This strike didn't hit either, but I felt that I was getting quicker.

This wasn't so much a serious attempt to kill sensei as it was a training session to get used to my new abilities. Right now I wasn't performing to the maximum of what I knew I could.

From the memories of that Murim-in Assassin alone I knew I wasn't even performing at a tenth of the speed I should be moving at. Even with no limits on muscles and those muscles being of superhuman quality, I wasn't moving quick enough because I didn't have the experience nor the muscle memory to properly employ my skills.

Even then...I was still moving at high Subsonic speeds*.

(A/N - Somewhere between 40 meters per second and 308 meters per second. The MC is moving at around 200 meters per second right now. And like it was said just now, this isn't even a tenth of what he should be capable of - he just needs training.)

Relaxing my legs to the maximum, I employed a technique brought to me by my Martial Arts Mastery skill. A technique used by Baki once or twice in the series 'Baki'. A technique called:

Cockroach Dash.

Relaxing my legs until they felt like they were liquid, I snapped them back to their original state all within less than a millisecond. The result? Instant acceleration to my top speed. I wasn't sure how fast that was exactly but the air around me felt like a liquid at that point and if it weren't for my current physique being so strong, I would've been torn apart by the force at which I was traveling. Though no sonic boom so I was still definitely slower than sound.

I sent a thrust force, my maximum speed behind it, yet sensei still dodged to the side, his smile seeming wider for some reason.

"You were a bit too slow, unfortunately, Kuroda-kun...though you must tell me how you passed for a normal student when you hold such power--" he was once again cut off as I slashed my right hand down - the hand holding the green knife I'd been attacking him with - and slashed my right hand up at where sensei's head was right now.

He realized a little late but still dodged the second green knife I had in my hand and then we were just there, with my knife raised in the air and him leaning back a little, "...I must admit your skill in sleight of hand tricks is worthy of praise, Kuroda-kun, but tricks can only get you so far, you know?"

"Hmm, is that so?" I quirked an eyebrow at him, taking the lesson to heart, before bringing my hand back down to my side, "I guess that makes sense," I nodded before turning away from him and retrieving my socks and shoes. Putting them on, in that order, and then picking up two BB pistols from the weapon rack and a few clips of ammunition for them. Once I was done, I turned and saw Karasuma looking at me with narrowed eyes - he was curious about how a normal student had done that, I guess - and then I looked to the class.

Some people were surprised, looking at me like I was some sort of monster. I had just moved faster than the human eye could see, after all. Well, the normal human eye, anyway. Others were looking at me with curiosity. Especially Kenshin, Amou and Momoyo. I even saw a Karla Kure in the back of the class looking at me with stars in her eyes.

'...Just how many series were added to this world?' I wondered to myself with a somewhat uncomfortable feeling welling up inside of me as I began to walk back to my desk. Which is when I realized something, "Sensei...you got a name? Calling you 'sensei' is gonna make it hard to verbally differentiate you from other teachers, you know?"

"A name, huh?" he answered, seeming in contemplation, "Well, I don't really call myself anything in particular...How about it, Kuroda-kun, wanna come up with a name for me?" he asked, seeming excited at the prospect of having a student of his decide his name.

'...I could really fuck with him right now, couldn't I?' I thought, keeping as straight a face as I could as I sat down at my desk and turned away from the people looking at me with a multitude of emotions. "A name that'd fit you..." I wondered allowed before smiling wide, "How about Korosensei? You know, like the word 'unkillable' mixed with sensei*? And it'll be my pride and joy to prove that name wrong one day~!" I answered with an equally playful and carefree tone which seemed to surprise the newly named teacher.

(*A/N - Unkillable, in Japanese is Korosenai which is striking similar to Korosensei. It's a play on words, I guess.)

"Korosensei...?" he whispered a few times to himself before he laughed in a weird way, "What a wonderful name! It'll be my pride and joy to prove this name correct for the rest of the year!" he pointed his head up, arrogantly, laughing even more.

'This is gonna be a long year,' was what I thought and I could guarantee at least a few of my new classmates agreed with that sentiment.
