45 Miracle Doctor

Yao Lingyan and Hun Lian got dressed and rushed Chu Fan over to the physician's department despite his insistence on self-medicating. They dragged him along the way, and he was powerless to resist.

" Really, it does not hurt anymore. I'll be fine after some rest and a massage."

The two girls turned to look at him with very serious faces.

"What if it gets infected?" asked Yao Lingyan.

"If anyone can fix it, big sister Wang Zhinu can." said Hun Lian as she gave a thumbs up to Chu Fan.

They arrived at the sect's Health Clinic. where Chu Fan was rushed into one of the the intensive care rooms upon Hun Lian's request. The Health Clinic was a rather far trip. it was located near the Dueling Grounds. It was a humble little building connected to the Alchemist Guild's branch location in the sect.

They arrived to see a long line of male disciples covered in wounds, very peculiar and suspicious wounds. Some were bandaged in a poor fashion, suggesting that it was done in a hurry; and some wounds looked to be self-inflicted. And then, there were those that just seemed too ridiculous to believe with the eyes: disciples crying as if a limb was lost over a simple papercut, a man fighting with his very own hand that he had "no control over", a splinter that demanded surgery, and a mysterious bald spot where a certain amount of armpit hair used to be. Chu Fan and the two girls shook their heads as they sighed and queued up, last in line. They would have to wait for these disciples before them to be "treated" first.

All these "injured" disciples were here to seek Wang Zhinu's aid and would not move an inch as they coveted and followed their unspoken rule of waiting their turn. They turned away any of the other physicians who offered their help. This lead to a low morale in the staff as they began to spread rumors about Wang Zhinu's "promiscuous nature" and frequently missed work, citing sore mouths. These "injured" suitors were seen as a bit of a nuisance to the sect as they could neither send them off without being seen and they could not be reprimanded for caring about their personal health.

Wang Zhinu was the only person present in the Health Clinic during her shift, and she would do her best to take care of all her "patients" and give them their proper treatments. Some days she would play along with the "patients" and tease them before sending them off on a wild goose chase, sometimes she would simply ignore them and shoo them away as it was always the same old fool who never tried anything new.

Today, in particular, was a very special day indeed. Wang Zhinu seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of her bed, as she seemed very irritable. The various "patients" could not even begin to speak of their usual "symptoms" like: the pain right above where their heart lay, injuries hurting less than the pain suffered being a moment away from Wang Zhinu, or having stayed up too late writing and/or whispering sweet nothings they yearned to recite to Wang Zhinu. She had been irritable ever since she started her shift; the sight of any man was enough to provoke her into a rage. She had been able to contain her anger for the first couple of hours, but as she sat and thought about what bothered her mind, she slowly forgot to hold back.

One by one, the "patients" went in, shutting the door behind them. After a brief moment of silence, yelling could be heard from outside as a woman's voice could be heard chastising someone. Small commotions could be heard outside as things were thrown about the clinic and a loud, "Thud!" would sound out, scaring the disciples to their very core. They all looked at one another and slowly, some began to leave.

"I'll come back another day. My wound is a very small one."

"Yeah, I can bear another day of pain and come back another time. You brothers be careful, okay"

"Cheh! Cowards! Don't you know this is just her playing 'hard to get'?"

Many of the disciples left in fear while some were still brave enough to stay; they figured it was all just a ruse. The door opened up and the latest patient came out looking worse than he did when he went in. The other patients had mistaken this as a good sign that this fellow disciple had scored big time. They began congratulating him as he cried in their arms.

"Brother, why do you cry? This is a merry occasion! You have done what all of us have been unable to for many years. You are 'the one', he who was successful" said a burly disciple as he patted the crying disciple who silently wept.

Chu Fan noticed a distinct silver needle lodged in his throat; it seemed that Wang Zhinu had just finished torturing this poor soul, not allowing him to even cry for mercy. Yao Lingyan noticed what Chu Fan was looking at and moved like a shadow, grabbing the needle before anyone else noticed. The disciple's hair was disheveled and his robes tattered; and in certain areas of his robe, the fabric had been torn. Looking at it more closely, one could distinguish that he had been seemingly been flung about the room like a ragdoll, just hard enough to suffer and not get any bruises.

"Wow, this lady is vicious." Chu Fan thought to himself.

"Next!" Wang Zhinu called out. The crying disciple trembled and ran as soon as he heard her voice. The other disciples who were dumb enough to stay, queued up again. They began to enter one at a time, and leaving in tears. Some were smart enough to finally understand what had been happening and left after giving their suspicions. And slowly, Chu Fan's party made it to the front of the line.

The last "patient" ahead of them had just gone in, but Hun Lian was restless. Throughout her short life, she had been the daughter of the sect; this meant that she had been spoiled from the very moment she was born. She did not know how to wait for things as she had been handed whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted it.

"I think it's fine if we go inside and wait. Big sister Wang Zhinu shouldn't mind."

Hun Lian pushed the door open and they all peered inside. The sight they saw, stunned them all silent. Yao Lingyan covered her eyes, but peeped through the spaces between her fingers. Hun Lian was oblivious as to what Wang Zhinu was doing. And Chu Fan took a deep breath.

"Big sister, why are you stepping on him like so? And why does he look so happy?"

Chu Fan pat her on the shoulder.

"Hun Lian, there are many ways a miracle doctor cures their patients with hysteria, like this fellow disciple here. Sometimes they must take an unconventional approach to cure these 'sick' patients."

Wang Zhinu was stuck in her pose as a dominatrix. She had been lashing out at the man before her with a various objects in the room, but he kept liking it more and more. Despite silencing him with her acupuncture, he seemed to be pleased with it all; this only served to make her more furious as she 'dealt' with this twisted patient.

She kicked him to the ground and pointed at him.

"You! Get lost, you freak! And never come back here again." she said with bloodshot eyes.

The disciple picked up the pieces of his robe and crawled over and began prostrating.

"I-is he begging for more?" asked Yao Lingyan as she blushed.

"Tubby, don't you need this sort of 'treatment' also? You have been rather hysterical this past week." asked Hun Lian with an innocent gaze.

Chu Fan choked on his breath as he did not know whether he should laugh or cry.

"Uh....I-I am not here to seek treatment for hysteria. You both dragged me along for a small bite that you so graciously gave me this morning." said Chu Fan as he blushed.

Wang Zhinu picked up the prostrating disciple by his belt and tossed him outside. He flew about in the air as his belt was torn off, disrobing him for his fellow disciples to witness. The disciples waiting after Chu Fan and the others finally got the message and ran off back to the safety of their residences.

"You three! Wait here! Don't go anywhere." said Wang Zhinu as she shut the door to the Health Clinic, locking the door.

Wang Zhinu quickly ran to the other room while blushing. Some time later, she came out dressed in a new set of robes. Chu Fan and the others had gotten bored and began cleaning up the mess from the earlier "visits". Wang Zhinu had bathed herself as she had worked up quite a sweat; her fragrance was now drifting about in the room. Chu Fan was the first to notice her walk into the room. He bowed and greeted her.

"Greetings, elder sister Wang Zhinu."

Wang Zhinu waved her hands.

"Stop it with the formalities. Why are you all here today? Aren't you supposed to be preparing for the match this weekend? Or are you here to admit to your false claims?"

Chu Fan clenched his palms and grit his teeth. He was quite annoyed by the sight of her at the moment. He stepped forward and retorted.

"You know wha-"

"Big sister Wang Zhinu, we are here about a different matter. This morning, Chu Fan here...he was bitten." Hun Lian blushed as she stopped herself. She had interrupted Chu Fan earlier as to avoid another conflict altogether.

"What kind of bite? And how big is it that you have come to seek my help?" asked Wang Zhinu. She looked at Hun Lian who would not make eye contact with her. She did not even consider asking Chu Fan and simply glanced past him to make eye contact with Yao Lingyan who blushed immediately.

"Uh...He got bit in his inner thigh. By...by...uh." she said as she turned red. She started to lift her hand and point.

Chu Fan stepped forward and spoke loudly, "I got bit by my combat beast. You see, my combat beast can still be considered a teething infant. And last month senior Ye Qing gave him a chew toy as a gift. Last night, he must have been dreaming of his chew toy as he clamped his jaws on my inner thighs. Had he been a couple centimeters off, something rather precious would have become his new chew toy."

Wang Zhinu stared at Chu Fan's face. She had heard rumors of Chu Fan's sly tongue and his many feats within the sect. But hearing him in person, she did not know if he was a great liar or just an honest and misunderstood person as he spoke with an convincing face and tone.

"Hahahaha!" Yao Lingyan and Hun Lian both began laughing and nodding as they heard Chu Fan's explanation. No one, in their right mind, could come up with such an elaborate and full-proof lie except for their beloved, Chu Fan. He simply crossed his arms, shook his head, and rolled his eyes.

"Bwahaha! Good job Ye Qing! I can always rely on you." Wang Zhinu laughed at Chu Fan's suffering alongside the other two girls.

"It's honestly not a big deal. Elder sister Wang Zhinu doesn't need to trouble herself over such a small bite." Chu Fan assured the others.

Wang Zhinu stuck her index finger at Chu Fan, stopping him from speaking any further.

"Ah-Ah! I can't have you finding an excuse to back out of the match. Come on, let's have a look at this bite on your leg."

Chu Fan blushed as he looked over his shoulders to see Yao Lingyan and Hun Lian blushing also.

"We'll be in the other room if you need us." Yao Lingyan said as she dragged Hun Lian along.

With them out of sight, Chu Fan took off his pants, keeping his undergarment on. He covered his crotch with his hands as he was shy. Wang Zhinu walked over and knelt down.

"You know I'm a physician, right? This is strictly professional. Besides, I've seen my fair share of thighs, glutes, and pectorals. I think I can handle seeing yours."

"Oh." Chu Fan said as he lifted the right side of his undergarment and placed his leg on the exam table.

He exposed his fat and muscular thigh to Wang Zhinu to inspect. Intrigued by his physique, she poked and prodded, confusing Chu Fan. Noticing why she was looking there in the first place, she shook her head and centered her vision on a set of teeth marks. She pulled out an object and started analyzing the bite mark. Noticing what it truly was, she looked at Chu Fan and shook her head before smirking.

"I'll give you an ointment to apply to the bite. It should heal rather quickly. Just do us all a favor and don't ever sleep with your 'combat beast' again."

Chu Fan sighed and got dressed up again. He called Hun Lian and Yao Lingyan back into the room as Wang Zhinu left to make the ointment.

"What did she say? Is it bad?" asked Hun Lian.

"It's not infected right?" asked Yao Lingyan.

Chu Fan shook his head and said, "I just have to apply ointment to the area. Would any of you two be willing to help me out with that?"

The two girls smacked his chest and he held his chest like a dying man, groaning.

"Ow. Ah, I'm dying. The heartbreak, it's too much to bear."

Wang Zhinu walked back into the room and the three of them turned silent. In her hands, she was carrying three bags with her: one with the ointment and two with candied fruits. She handed the three teens a bag each, and they all looked in to see what they got.

"Candied fruits? Why are you giving us these big sister Wang Zhinu?" asked Hun Lian.

"This is great! I was craving some candied fruits as of late." said Yao Lingyan.

Wang Zhinu looked at the two girls and pointed at them.

"The next time you two want to eat something, remember that candied fruits taste a whole lot better than Pig's Trotters."

Yao Lingyan and Hun Lian got confused and looked at each other. As girls, they were very particular about what they ate, as they worried about their figure.

"When did we eat any Pig's Trotters?" they asked simultaneously.

Chu Fan blushed and smacked himself on the forehead. The two thought over the matter for a bit and then turned beet red.

"Hahahaha! It took you a while." said Wang Zhinu.

Chu Fan looked over at Wang Zhinu and waved his hand for her attention. He had something that he wanted to ask her.

"Elder sister Wang Zhinu, your mood seems to be a lot better now. Might I be so bold as to ask what was bothering you earlier?"

The anger in her snapped as she looked at Chu Fan with a deathly glare. He was unfazed by such a threatening look as he was used to being on the receiving end of those glares by now. Hun Lian walked over next to Chu Fan.

"Big sister, why were you so angry earlier? You sent all those disciples running off crying." asked Hun Lian.

"We're all willing to hear your troubles senior sister Wang Zhinu."

Wang Zhinu clenched her fists for a few seconds before releasing the pressure on her own hands.

"Fine, I might as well tell you. What harm could it do? The reason that I am so angry...the reason I am mad is all because of that Ye Qing."

Chu Fan squinted as he did not hear her clearly.

"Senior brother Ye Qing? As in Scorching Peak's Direct Disciple, Ye Qing?"

Infuriated, she laid herself down on her exam table and face-palmed herself.

"Oh, how tiresome. Just saying his name makes me tired. Do you happen to know of any another Ye Qing besides that one?"

Chu Fan walked over to a rocking chair in the corner and sat himself down. Hun Lian and Yao Lingyan sat at a table next to Chu Fan, snacking on their candies as they listened.

"No, of course not. Now, could please elaborate as to how Ye Qing is the cause of your anger?" he asked as he rocked about in the chair with his legs crossed.

She turned her head towards Chu Fan.

"Oh, where do I begin?"
