9 Attendant (9)

"Why are you so apprehensive of me?" Vados said innocently.

'Because this was your plan from the beginning!!!'

I didn't know whether it was my Evolved Eyes or what but the mischievous light in Vados' eyes didn't die out, my intuition roaring that she was up to something.

I could tell that she quickly realized how powerful I was and plotted to make me her Lord of Destruction, allowing her to be the attendant to the strongest mortal.

I was in a difficult position.

As alluring as she was, having a Zeno Informant constantly monitoring my actions wasn't desirable at all.

But I couldn't really refuse.

She could very easily report me to Zeno, making sure not to leave out the part where a Lord of Destruction failed to apprehend me.

'The name has also changed'

Probably more fittingly, Destroyers were called Lords of Destruction instead of Gods, a small but noticeable difference from the canon.

Vados invaded my personal space, resting her chest on my arm while staring into my eyes.

"Don't tell me you're going to say no?" she said.

Blackmail is terrible.

I shook her off, exhaling reluctantly.

"Fine"

"Wonderful!"

I exhaled loudly.

"What about him though?"

Hit had completely passed out, on the verge of succumbing to his injuries.

Vados double-tapped her staff on the ground, Hit's body mysteriously disappearing.

"You don't have to worry about it, I'll sort him out," she said softly.

I then sharpened my expression, making some space between us before I folded my arms.

Vados cleared her throat, quickly appearing formal.

"I am pleased you managed to see reason and obeyed Universal Law, a Lord of Destruction actually has an allowance in terms of violations, meaning you are no longer liable for your Time Travel crimes," she explained.

"As a Destroyer, your responsibility is to erase life as you see fit, a counter-balance against the Supreme Kais who create and grant life, in practice though, you can do as you please, if you want to you can defend the interests of your galaxy, alternatively you can sleep for the next hundred years"

"But what about intervening in Mortal affairs? I've actually assumed the role of Guardian on Earth, meaning I also have responsibilities to it's people"

Vados' expression changed.

"Ah!? You really did such a thing? How troublesome, well if you don't say anything I won't"

My heart sank.

"You can't be serious"

She chuckled, give me a sweet smile that made my temples throb.

'It's important to be flexible'

"So how is this supposed to work? From now until I die, you just follow me around?" I asked.

"Not exactly, my general objective is to guide you and help you develop your destructive capabilities, your general wellbeing is also a part of my role, I won't force you to do something you don't want to do but I will advise you to the best of my ability when I can"

"Let's be more practical than that, how far away from you am I allowed to be?"

"It depends on the duration, generally it is acceptable for us to be in different places on the same planet but we can also be on different planets, however it can't be for longer than 24 hours, lest the Grand Priest gets involved"

I remained silent, thinking for a second.

"I plan to explore this Universe and interact with other races, to what extent am I hindered by my responsibilities?"

"Well it depends where, in our Galaxy, you can do as you please so far as you don't break Universal Law, in other galaxies though, you can't get too involved in major conflicts or usurp the rights of another Destroyer"

'She's not being specific at all, I guess I'll just have to pick it up as I go along'

"What Galaxy is the Earth in?"

"Galaxy 6," she replied with a smirk.

I furrowed my brows.

"Has the Earth always been a part of Galaxy 6?"

Her expression changed but she remained silent, a new question popping into my mind.

"Are you allowed to lie to me?" I said, tilting my head.

Her face hardened.

"I thought Majins were supposed to be dumb and impressionable, how come you ask so many questions?" she grumbled.

"I'm not just some big dumb Majin, I'm going to get as much information out of you as I can, now talk!" I said sternly.

She frowned at me, sighing gently.

"As an Angel I don't have the capacity to lie to you, so I must confess no, it was previously part of Galaxy 7"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Surely what you did is in violation of Universal Law as well? What is stopping me from reporting you?"

Vados then smiled, speaking sweetly.

"Well if you really want to, we can take it to the Grand Priest"

Even her eyes were smiling at me, letting me know that she knew that I knew there was nothing I could do, for now, I was stuck with her.

I took another step back, looking at Vados properly.

Just like the manga, her skin was perfect, a gentle light blue that was easy on the eyes, her features soft and feminine. Compared to the canon, her form was far more exaggerated, her chest and hips particularly well-endowed, giving me plenty to work with.

"I have another question," I said with a smirk.

Vados reciprocated my energy, folding her arms and puffing our her chest.

"Is it possible for mortals to breed with angels?"

Her whole disposition shifted.

"BREED!?"

She said the word as though it was slur, as though my speech had defiled her already. Her cheeks glowed red while her grip on her staff tightened, her behavior the very definition of flustered.

I decided to capitalize.

"Don't let your imagination go too wild, I was only asking a question," I said, keeping my composure.

My words added gasoline to her fire but she quickly realized I was enjoying her reaction, puffing slightly as she looked into my eyes.

"Absolutely not!" she protested.

"We Angels posses potent magical capabilities so in theory, anything is possible, however, no Angel would willingly defile their body with a mortal, such a matter is so beyond the scope of possibility, even Universal Law has no precedent for it," she said flatly, calming herself.

"That's a shame, just when I thought you were looking cute"

A series of emotions played out on her face, first shock, then irritation, then inspiration and finally mischief.

"Well I'll tell you something, mortal, if you're able to successfully land a hit on me, I'll comply with whatever request you make," she said deviously.

I studied her expression for a moment, discerning that she was being serious.

'I think she's trying to motivate me'

Angels had a very high level of Ultra Instinct constantly active, to the degree where nobody in the main series could tag them if they didn't allow it.

This world didn't strictly follow the canon but if such a principle was preserved, landing an attack on Vados, even at the peak of my current power was impossible.

'But there are still a number of strategies I can use to boost my abilities'

"Deal! But just so it's not unfair on your part, give me a time frame, my power reaching your level is an inevitability and I plan on asking you to help me anyway, I don't want to be too unfair on you," I said, trying not to sound too arrogant.

Vados scoffed, shaking her head.

"Such a stipulation isn't necessary, don't underestimate the power of an Angel," she said cockily.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"After pride comes the fall, don't start acting shy when I make my request, I think you already know what I want"

Vados avoided my gaze, desperately trying to keep her composure.

"The body of Angel is not a cheap commodity, I'm curious what gives you so much confidence"

'The fact that I'm a transmigrator, I know this world like the palm of my hand'

I smiled, remaining silent as I closed my eyes, thinking deeply.

"Can you take me to the Galactic Patrol Prison?" I asked.

"Oh, Why?"

"There's a man named Moro I wish to absorb, his understanding of magic will serve me well"

It was a two birds one stone situation, I would gain a buff and also remove Moro from the potential list of threats I had to worry about.

Vados stared at me blankly.

She closed her eyes and concentrated for a second, her staff flashing momentarily.

"How do you know about him?" she asked me curiously, not able to understand where I got my information from.

"It's a secret, one I'll share eventually, now answer my question"

She continued to stare at me, eventually speaking.

"I guess so, he's located in the Galaxy 7 Prison, not too far from here," she said slowly.

"Excellent, let's go there immediately"

Her expression dropped a little, quickly catching on to my strange ability to know things, properly considering how rapidly my Power Level had ballooned.

'Th-There's no we he can actually reach my level, right?'

What scared her was that she wasn't fully convinced, a horrible feeling emerging in her stomach.

"Vados? Are you feeling alright?"

Her face tightened as she realized she had spaced out, the fact a mortal had concerned her to this degree slightly damaging her pride.

She didn't respond, instead double tapping her staff on the ground.

A pair of white shockwaves rippled over the environment, the magic waves of energy distorting space around us.

A pillar of perfect white light then descended.

When the light dissipated, we found ourselves in a small orange room, a frail old goat-like humanoid asleep on the bed in front of us.

'Perfect'

I quickly separated an orb from my body, the small chocolate mass expanding and rapidly engulfing the figure on the bed, Moro not even waking up before the mass merged back with my body.

[Vados POV]

'What a curious ability'

I watched with rapt attention as ripples pulsed over the form of my Majin, his expression crumbling as he gripped his temples, veins throbbing on his forehead.

'Majins are a very interesting creation'

In my own opinion, they were one of the finer works of the Supreme Kais.

All the races of the Universe were endowed with a particular ability to give them an advantage, the circumstances of each calculated so that given the passage of time, any one of them had the capacity to individually take over the Universe.

In the case of a race as feeble as Humans, they were given a near-perfect Planet, abundant with resources that enabled them to build technology that could compete with biological advantages of other races, even the birth rate managed so that things would never spiral out of control.

'The order of things is really beautiful'

I had grown to appreciate the way the Universe worked, even coming to terms with the cycle of war, violence and death, understanding it to be an important part of the circle of life.

'Is my Lord all right?'

I began to grow concerned as he began panting loudly, his pink Ki growing darker and darker, bordering red as his muscles flared, a wicked expression on his face.

As an Angel, I had the ability to gain awareness or understanding of things that were irrelevant to me. I exercised this ability not long ago, allowing me to understand that my Lord had actually absorbed a being by the name of King Piccolo.

Unlike my Lord, his Ki was negatively charge meaning that upon absorption a wave of negative emotions, feelings and thoughts would cloud his mind. Fortunately though, he could exercise the latent magic abilities of a Majin to discharge this negativity, transmuting an object in the process.

'An intelligent Majin really is a problem'

The key weaknesses Majins possessed in order to offset their potent physical and magical abilities was that their cognitive capacity was far below the universal average.

Although Majins possessed basically the most potential out of any race, their impulsivity and lack of mental fortitude prevented them from acting on it, this being why the Universe wasn't run by Majins.

'That's why I had to act quickly'

My Lord really was a unique catch, something I couldn't let fall into the hands of someone else.

'Although he does have some worrying tendencies'

The last thing on my mind was to enter a physical or emotional relationship with him. I honestly didn't even think Majins had the capacity to understand what a relationship was.

'Although he does look quite good'

His muscles were a little over the top but it suited his frame well and given that he carried himself like an intelligent person, it worked in his favor, allowing me to imagine myself with him.

'What kind of thought is that?'

I caught myself, shaking my head slightly.

It wasn't so much so that I was opposed to a relationship but more so that it had never actually happened before, not in the entire history of the Universe.

'Although a specimen like him has never existed, even in the whole history of the Universe'

I stared at his form a second time, the crevices and contours of his muscles spurring a strange emotion from the depths of my chest.

'What am I doing?'

I shook my head a second time, banishing all kinds of terrible thoughts.

'As special as he is, if he can't defeat the Grand Priest, we have no chance together'

The lack of precedent also implied that it was forbidden, if the Grand Priest decided to intervene against our wishes, what could we do about it?

'It's better to avoid such a bad ending'

"You sure like spacing out a lot, I hope you're not fantasizing about me"

My eyes snapped open, rebuttal around in my mouth but my jaw dropped, my eyes unable to believe what I saw.

The bed that the prisoner Moro had slept on was gone and an Angel attendant's staff was in my Lord's right hand.

I narrowed my eyes, unable to tell the difference between it and my own, my mind spinning.

My Lord then proceeded to absorb it, the staff completely disappearing into his body, his face unchanged, as though he had created a bottle of water.

"You can take us back to the Time Chamber now," he said gently.

I was honestly speechless, my mind blanking as I complied with his wishes, double-tapping my staff on the ground.

In a matter of seconds we appeared back inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, my Lord immediately leaping back.

'How is this possible!?'

I mean, theoretically speaking, it wasn't impossible but such a thing-

"Hmph!"

My eyes widened once more as I watched a clear blue Angel ring appear around the neck of my Lord, it's appearance exactly like that of an Angel.

"Whaaa?"

My mouth fell open, my confusion so palpable that it could no longer be kept down.

"How did you-"

My Lord didn't spare a second, his form separating into five physical pieces, a dark pink Ki aura surround each piece, five separate versions of my Lord appearing in space.

Contrary to the Ki techniques of the Yardratians, my Lord had separated into five full fledged entities, almost like he give birth to himself four times.

"FUU-SHUN! HAAA!"

"WHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!?"

My eyes widened as I watched the five of them perform a strange dance, each of them moving weirdly until the tips of the fingers touched, a pillar of light eating them until they merged into one form, a single being standing in their place.

The fusion that emerged was ridiculously powerful, my mind spinning as I tried to comprehend the depth of his energy, barely able to conceive it.

"Hmph! Hmph!"

He then used the Time Skip technique twice in rapid succession, his hair turning pink the first time and then turning an excellent silver.

He rubbed his temples, his form mysteriously turning invisible.

"Wha! What! How-"

"Got you!"

My heart sank as my Lord then re-appeared, his middle and index fingers pressing against my stomach.

"GWAAAAH!"
