I Return To Ash

The boy was not sure where to look in this surreal void. He was confused, he was lost but his eyes, his eyes were filled with an undying conviction that spoke words even his mouth could not utter. "Because your story, was what convinced me, it was what resonated with mine so long ago..." the ghastly voice replied. "Will you take it? Will you forgo your past life? Will you forget it all just to live again? Or will you choose to rest with your regrets, just like I once did?" the voice continued whispering into his head. He smiled. It was foolish, this decision, but what of foolishness? What of everything? If he could live again just to catch a glimpse of her, even without his memories, it was all worth it in the end. He reached out his hand towards the unending darkness. "You have made your choice," it whispered softly into his head this time. A burst of light blinded him, forming into a door, as if beckoning him forward. Was it fate that made brought him here? Showed him all those visions? He smiled like the foolish young man he was, as he took a step into the light, never looking back even once.
