Soul weapon

Ren gathered the dryads loot and brought it to the area where the magical trees loot was.The others were discussing how to divide the loot amongst themselves.

"Archie shouldn't get any loot because he put our lives in danger." Sophia said as Ren arrived to which Ren immediately refuted.

"Whoa...hold on,I deserve to recieve a majority of the loot as I was the one who contributed the most to the lesser dryads defeat." Just because Ren didn't want to negatively affect his friendships didn't mean he was just going to roll over and allow them to take the loot for themselves.

"Only by setting off a massive explosion which put our lives in danger." Edward retorted.

"The only reason I did that was because I was trying to test something." Ren responded with a half truth.He did kind of want to see how much mana he could discharge at once.

"Couldn't you test it outside of battle?" Sophia questioned him softly.

"Of course not I don't want to damage anything."

"What about...I don't know...outside the village or away from camp."

"I don't want to damage anything outside the village or camp either."

"That's enough out of the three of you.Archie will take whatever loot he pleases and leave the rest to you.We will have to test the loot first however" Raphael angrily admonished the three of them before giving Ren a wink that nobody else noticed.

Ren immediately picked up the plant like dagger in his right hand.To Rens surprise and detriment however the dagger grew long and thick thorns out of its handle which stabbed into Rens hand.

"Aaaaaaahhhhh"

Out of reflex Ren immediately tried to let go of the dagger but it was stuck to his hand.Immense pain assaulted Rens mind as he felt what appeared to be small,thin roots growing into his hand and wrist.Once this stopped the pain also subsided.

The dagger then disappeared and Ren felt as if his soul had gained an additional part and extension.Only one thought entered Rens mind.

A soul weapon!

There were multiple kinds of loot and this was a special and rare variety.The explanation for why he even got one was probably due to the fact that the first entity he killed was powerful and rare.

Anyways the way a soul weapon worked was that it had to bind to the users soul first.In this case the dagger had to stab his hand with thorns and grow roots into it.

The benefits of a soul weapon was that the user would recieve knowledge on how to use it and its abilities.Another benefit was that the user could summon and unsummon it at will.The other benefit was that unlike regular weapons or armour a soul weapon had potential.This meant that it could grow alongside the wielder under multiple factors.

Even now Rens mind was being flooded with information.He learned that the weapon was called the thorn dagger.It would grow stronger and more powerful by absorbing Rens nutrients and mana as well as the nutrients and mana of the organisms that the dagger would be killing.

The dagger also buffed his strengh and speed by a somewhat okay amount whenever he would wield it but he would still be far weaker then Raphael.

The other problem was that the dagger required a massive amount of nutrients and mana to develop.It would also require unique nutrients in order to develop special abilities and strenghen them and Ren didn't know how to obtain this kind of unique nutrients.

"Are you okay Archie? I heard your cry of pain? What's with those holes in your hand?" Raphael bombarded Ren with questions and this alerted Ren to another problem.He now had see through holes in his hand.

Ren resummoned his thorn dagger and grinned to his friend.

"I've gained a soul weapon."

"Really that's wonderful Archie.I can't wait till I get my own.Tell me what is it capable of."Raphael grinned in relief and excitement for his friend.

Ren proceeded to explain the capabilities of his new soul weapon to Raphael who seemed a bit surprised.

"Hmmm it requires a large amount of effort to develop it.You should also be careful not to tell people outside the village about it as they may want to loot it as a drop from your dead,dissipating body." Raphael and Ren chatted for a bit about inconsequential stuff before heading over to test the remaining loot.

The armour and shield was regular loot that greatly increased in durability whenever the user remained still.Edward recieved them as Ren didn't want the armour and wasn't interested in the shield.

The plant like sword could extend and contort when mana was poured into it.Raphael decided to claim this loot as despite being well versed in all kinds of weapons he was most talented with the blade.No one prevented him from claiming it.

The plant like wand and staff went to Sophia as they provided a great amount of mana and could aid in spell casting.

There was also the spell tomes and books that Ren decided to claim along with 75% of the green crystals.Ren wanted all of them but he had to give 25% over to Sophia and Edward for their 'help'.

There was also the magical seed which none of them knew was capable of as they would have to plant it.They would do it back at the village.

The magical wood was mainly building materials that they would bring back to the village for their use.
