Further training

It had to be said that Ren didn't enjoy training every single day but he did understand that the outside world was incredibly dangerous. He understood that in order to have an easy life where he could enjoy himself he would have to put in a bit of hard work.

That being said the other children observed how Ren put some half-assed effort into his training sometimes. This culminated in most of the other children treating Ren with disdain. The adults allowed it to happen as they hoped it would give Ren some motivation to train harder.

4 years later

SMACK

A well placed strike on Ren's temple knocked him to the ground.Ren was covered in bruises and lacerations and was breathing heavily. The one who did it was none other than Raphael.Raphael had distinguished himself from the other children for his strengh and speed that he had dedicatedly built up over the years. He had earned much praise over the years from his parents, instructors and fellow children.

"Come on Archie you should've easily been able to block that. You can't even get me serious or get my blood boiling. How do you expect to survive outside the village when you can't even handle this." Raphael expressed his disappointment.

He was one of the few people who were nice to Ren and was all the things Ren wasn't.He was a man who had passion and did things he didn't enjoy despite not being forced too.One of the things he didn't enjoy was beating up Ren but he viewed it as being good for his friend.

Ren was one of the weakest members of his group.Despite that though Ren was still stronger then any human back on Earth and had an amazing physique for his age.Despite being a nine year old he had the physical strengh to knock down double layered brick walls with a singular punch. As well as the speed to appear almost invisible to the normal human eye.It was just that the other members of his group were simply better then he was.

Ren probably would've enjoyed his new strengh more if he was at least obove average in the group but maybe that was just him.

Anyways the group had only recently begun to train in combat after the instructors had felt that they had improved their basic fitness enough.Ren decided to learn how to use staffs and daggers as his choice of weapon as he wanted to be a mage and learn how to cast magic.

Raphael on the other hand decided to master every weapon possible and he was having far more success then Ren was having whilst learning the combat arts of only two types of weapons.Ren had to admit that Raphael was the pinnacle of talent.

Ren actually admired Raphael for being everything he wanted to be.Hard-working,talented and a battle maniac.Ren felt lucky to have such a friend but despite that he slowly began to hate himself.Ren was lazy which was probably because he wasn't used to training and came from a world where people didn't need to train physically. He knew he was squandering his potential but he knew he needed more motivation.

"Come on Raphael just give up on him his just a runt.Just let him stay behind with the other weaklings." said Kasper.Kasper wasn't friends with Ren.

He had also distinguished himself for his strengh and speed but unlike Raphael he mainly beat up Ren because he hated him and saw him as an eyesore.Ren knew about this as Kasper said it straight to his face.

For everybody else 70% were hateful of Ren and 30% were neutral and just didn't care.Even the weaker members of the group who were around Rens level were hateful. They weren't talented and some even had conditions that were detrimental to their training such as breathing complications but they still worked their hardest and saw Ren as a waste of space.

"Shut up Kasper whether you like it or not Archies a member of our group and its our priority to make sure everyone becomes the best they can be within the village."

"Oh please that loser will only hold you back and believe me he will do it whether you like it or not."

A shout resounded towards the courtyard from one of their instructors alerting everyone that training was over.

"That's enough let's go Archie." Raphael said as the group dispersed back to their homes when the training was over.

When they were out of hearing range of the other children Raphael suddenly faced Ren.

"Hey Archie I've been told that the instructors will test us in 4 years to see if we have magical affinity or not." Raphael excitedly exclaimed with glee.

"Really I can't wait for that." Ren was truly exhilarated by this reveal.Perhaps this would be the turning point in his life.Mana was seen as a powerful force perhaps he would be able to catch up to Raphael and be able to enjoy his new life a bit more.It was then that Ren decided to put some hard work in from now on.

Hello how well do you think Ren will be with magic?.
