It had been a week since Team 7 arrived in the Land of Waves, and things had been great.
Naruto had his clones scout the bases of Gato, marking them on his map, while a few clones guarded and helped out on the bridge, something which Tazuna appreciated tremendously. After all, many workers were quitting because of fear of Gato and his men.
Yakumo had been learning diligently with Kakashi, slowly developing her genjutsu skill. So far, she was able to use her clan's bloodline limit on opponents with double her chakra for only a minute and 30 seconds.
The higher the difference between her and her opponent, the shorter the time they could be held in her genjutsu. However, her normal genjutsus were still powerful, enough to trap someone a few levels higher than her for a few minutes.
Kakashi was impressed with her work, as well as Naruto's recon. Being a good sensor with multiple variations of the shadow clone jutsu was the perfect tool for scouting and assassination.
The biggest change that happened was with Sasuke.
Every day, he would train his body to the limit, exhausting himself, before meditating and entering his mindscape, only to see a still broken man being consoled by his brother, but slowly, like a 1000000-piece puzzle being put together, the man was getting better.
Ever since Sasuke ingested Naruto's chakra, he felt a change in his body. His reserves were slowly growing the more they were exhausted. His body was getting stronger, and healing a bit quicker than before, and his training with his Sharingan had been showing vast improvements. Previously, he had been able to train till the second tomoe only after a month, but he was able to awaken his third tomoe in just two weeks.
When Sasuke asked Naruto why this was, he was surprised to learn that Naruto's abilities were similar. Naruto was able to grow his reserves tremendously, heal from almost any injury a thousand times faster than a normal shinobi, and his body hid more strength than visible.
"Bloody cheat," Sasuke grumbled when he learned of this matter.
"Hey, you are one to talk. You literally have the Sharingan. You can memorize anything instantly, copy any jutsu you see, and zoom and enhance things to see microscopic details." Naruto retorted swiftly.
The only reason he knew all this way was because he too had felt some changes.
He felt his brain become sharper and clearer. He felt his eyesight improve slightly, and overwhelmingly fine control of his body. Their bodies were slowly adapting to the new chakra, as some unique abilities of the two different clans, The Uzumaki and The Uchiha were transferred between each other.
While this might have been impossible for others to emulate, it was easier for Naruto and Sasuke since their chakras were originally from the same source. Indra and Ashura's chakras were ever present in their bodies, and since they both were brothers and one of the first people in the world to wield chakra, it was much purer and less tainted.
These changes may be small now, but as time went by and their bodies grew, the changes would develop further, before long, completely evolving the two to a higher level.

"Damn, this is so hard." Hiroki thought as he spent every moment of his existence for the past week helping Naruto's body assimilate Sasuke's chakra into naruto's body.
A week ago, when Ashura met with Sasuke, Hiroki had hidden so as to not reveal his existence to Sasuke. When the two mindscapes were connected, Ashura had left a part of himself inside Naruto's mindscape before entering Sasuke's to deal with his brother.
Honestly, seeing Indra in such a state pained Hiroki. This was not because he was related to his in any way or anything, but it was the primal humanity and morality inside Hiroki that felt bad for the guy.
The constant hate for more than a millennium must have corrupted the poor guy. And his Library of Heaven's Path further confirmed it.
There was a reason why the souls of this world entered the Impure World after their deaths. This was to clean the souls of their worldly emotions, lest they damage the soul too much.
Due to the many incarnations, the two brothers had undergone, their souls were weak, weaker than a lot of average souls.
However, Indra was a special case. The constant onslaught of intense emotions wore down the soul, causing the man to lose his sanity significantly.
With Hiroki's guidance (basically pointing out what was wrong with Indra), Ashura undertook the heavy responsibility of bringing his brother back to sanity.
It would take a long time, but it would be possible. It was like trying to join together puzzle pieces, except the pieces numbered almost a million, and the puzzle was a human soul.
But Ashura's love for his brother and the desire to help and rescue him drove the man to do everything to help his brother.
Hiroki estimated that it would take almost a year or two for the ancient ninja to come back to sanity, and another to completely recall the events of his life.
Meanwhile, Hiroki, on Naruto's insistence, had passed Sasuke some books from Madara's memories, on ways to develop his Sharingan and use it in battle.
Naruto found some excuse for how he got his hands on such material, but Shisui's Kotoamatsukami helped Sasuke trust the boy almost unconditionally.
Coming back to the present, Hiroki was doing his best to help Naruto's body to refine the external chakra and help integrate it faster into Naruto's body. Taking some pointers from Kurama's ability to flood Naruto's system with his chakra, Hiroki employed a similar strategy and pushed the single tail's worth of chakra he received as payment for a bet, through Naruto's body every single moment, every single day.
This was all so that the day that Hiroki would get a body would come closer.

"Alright Naruto, Sasuke, Yakumo, it's time to clean up this town. Are you ready?" Kakashi spoke with his team as they stood on top of a small hill, overlooking a vast base filled with bandits and bodyguards all serving a single man. Gato.
"Since we have evidence of his illegal dealing, thanks to Naruto, we have the right to deal with him according to the Law of the Lands.
Sasuke, you will deal with the bandits from the east. Naruto, you go from the west. Both of you, draw the bandits to you.
Yakumo, you will go and capture Gato for his criminal activity. But down kill him." Kakashi ordered, getting a determined nod from all Team 7, who quickly jumped into the base camp.
"Hey, Dipshits. Over here." Naruto announced his presence loudly, rushing into the base as he attacked the closest bandit chilling in the sun.
"What?" Before the bandit could even register what was going on, his vision turned dark, before a flash of yellow hair roamed around the battlefield.
"Enemy Attack!!! Raise the Alarm!!!!!!!" A few sensible bandits understood the situation and rose the alarm, but just as they did, a streak of blond rushed past, knocking them down instantly.
A complex pattern of footwork and martial movements was released from Naruto, making him look like a dancer on ice, gliding along the battlefield.
Some bandits tried to attack with weapons, but the boy's gloved hands blocked and disarmed the attackers, before swiftly dealing with them.
On the other side, Sasuke was having a lot of fun beating up the bandits. The Uchiha Clan's Inceptor Style Fist was proudly displayed as Sasuke's eyes blazed red.
The notes from Hiroki allowed Sasuke to learn how to better integrate his Sharingan into battle, something that was previously too advanced for him.
Unlike Naruto's graceful but deadly movements through the battlefield, Sasuke was bulldozing through the enemy lines. Leaving behind a trail of broken bones and knocked-out teeth, Sasuke smirked as the last of the opponents arrived.
"You guys are so weak I don't even need to use any ninjutsu," Sasuke smirked as he knocked out the last of the bandits.
Meanwhile, Yakumo used her genjutsus to clear a path between the bandits, as she calmly walked into the main building.
Splitting apart the crowd like Moses parting the sea, Yakumo quickly reached the main building, only to see a short man scrambling to stuff notes and papers in a bag, trying to escape.
"Damn it. Why did the ninjas come here all of a sudden? I thought that the Land of Waves was off Konoha's radar." Gato muttered, before, suddenly, he felt a paralyzing fear across his spine, when his vision went dark.
"Mission Complete" Yakumo chuckled as she dragged the unconscious man outside.
"69""69" Naruto and Sasuke yelled out, as the last bandit pair they dealt with fell to the ground unmoving.
""Mission Complete"" Naruto and Sasuke smirked, apparently tying with each other on the number of bandits dealt with.

Land of Waves arc is coming to a close.
Slowly, the abilities of the two clans will be transferred to each other. But it will be more inclined towards the passive abilities of the clans instead of the core kekkei genkai. Naruto won't have the Sharingan and Sasuke will not have the Adamantium Chains.
