Chapter 7

[A/N:I write this to pass time and have fun so just read is to pass time.]

Thor POV

My mother soon took the role a reagent in Asgard which I am very thankful for and I was called to meet the Jarl well this was kinda expected since I am sure he will want me to join the Raid to Hexham.I was now in front of Haraldson who was now having a meeting with Ragnar about giving authorization for another raid to the west.

Haraldson then turned to Ragnar and said "I will sanction this raid on one condition a warrior I trust goes with you, Knut will go with him for my sake."Knut who was next to the Jarl where glaring at us like we stole something from him.

Haraldson who now turned to me and spoke "Thor I want you to go with Ragnar, Take your Warband with you to make sure you have enough people so this raid is successful."I just nodded as I could see his thoughts he had asked Knut to assassinate if possible.I smirked and thought "If you had just kept your ploy to just finding out how we get to the west I would have brought Knut back alive from the raid but now he will die like the show."

Ragnar didn't seem to have a problem with me coming but Knut was someone he didn't trust. Both of us were walking out as Ragnar said"You know when I first saw you in the west my anger got the best of me but now when I think about it. It doesn't matter if you came first or last."I smiled hearing that and replied, "So did you catch on to Haraldson's ploy."

Ragnar smirked and said, "He really thinks an idiot like knut can find how we get to the west."I laughed at that as we both went home as both Val, Lagertha, and Sig were there waiting for me as Sig questioned "So I heard we are going to have to raid the west soon."

I nodded and replied, "Yes this time Haraldson has given permission for the raid so we won't have a problem."Lagertha in confusion asked "We?"

I sighed "He wants us to accompany Ragnar."Val and Sig were indifferent while Lagertha was slightly irritated and questioned:"Why can't we just raid another town instead of the one Ragnar wants to go to."Lagertha was irritated not because of Ragnar since they came to an understanding but the problem was Rollo who was pinning for her which she found irritating.

I smiled and replied, "We can but our beloved Jarl has appointed Knut to follow us on this raid also the fact that the previous raid Ragnar did would already have gotten the attention of the leader so it will interesting to go with them."Lagertha's eyes twitched hearing my answer.

The next day we were about to go as my mother came to see me off she has been busy being the regent of Asgard,I smiled seeing her and asked "How are you, mother."Frigga replied, "It is a bit hectic in Asgard but all is well."I nodded hearing that as she came to me kissed me on the forehead and whispered: "May you return victorious my son."Ragnar had also left Athelstan to look after the children just to make sure.

Frigga then turned to Lagertha and spoke "You don't have to worry about the children they will be safe with me."Lagertha gave smiled hearing that it was very interesting that both Bjorn and Gyda seemed to love my mother.

We went to our ship where Sig, Val, and Lagertha all looked ready for the raid really tempted to use Mjolnir but soon decided not to since this was a very small raid so I decided to go with the sword.

Both ships soon set sail I made sure to keep pace with Ragnar's ship we soon reached our destination.

Each group took were making their way as Sigurd pointed in a direction and said "Looks like we have company."Everyone who heard this slowly started to go for their weapons as we saw a group of soldiers coming in our direction.

Ragnar looked at me as I gave him a nod.We slowly made our way to the group as the leader of the group greeted "Good people welcome. Who are you? What do you speak ?"Ragnar who by now learned their language from Athelstan replied "We Northmen."

The leader questioned "Traders."Ragnar smiled and replied "Yes traders."I was having a hard time keeping a straight face as Rollo who was obviously getting irritated asked "What is he saying? Who is he?"

The leader smiled and said, "I am the sheriff here."Lagertha who came next to asked "What are they saying."I looked at her and replied, "He is a person who makes sure people follow the law and he is welcoming us Ragnar managed to fool them into thinking we are traders also he wants us to meet their king if we want to do trade."

Val who was able to understand all this said "I feel sorry for these people."

Sigurd who was next to Val shrugged and said "I do not."Well, things went smoothly until Floki decided to steal a cross from one of the Soldiers then things went south as it was a complete bloodbath as Sig and I had slightly similar fighting styles we either deflected or defended incoming attacks and when the enemy is open with go for the kill.

While the same can be said for Val dual-wielded swords was easily dodging incoming sword strikes and was going on a killing spree.

While Lagertha was dual Weider herself she used a shield and sword She used the shield to defend or attack by bashing them into the enemy's head leaving them stunned the delivering a killing blow to them either that or she would dodge and deliver a blow to vital's with her sword.

I saw Sig who had taken a spear was readying to throw but stopped midway as I questioned in confusion "What happened I know for a fact you could have killed him easily."

Sig smirked and replied, "If he escapes he will bring reinforcements that mean's more people for us to fight."As I along with Val and Lagertha facepalmed Sig then continued "oh come on you guys also want a decent fight."

Val was next to me sighed "I have to agree with him we only get a challenge when we seal our abilities strength to the level of Midgardians."I couldn't help nod at that as Lagertha who was making sure all the soldiers were really dead came towards us and asked "Well they were not really much of a challenge. The ones we faced in that town were better."

I only gave a nod as I was thinking "So many way's to kill Knut what to do should I just use lightning and leave the charred body behind decisions....decisions."
