26 Start to the first test.
I followed behind mother as she dragged me through the streets filled with people coming and going from shops.
"Let's go and grab some text books." Mother said entering a shop.
"Welcome." Said a voice from behind the counter. "There are books for school on the left side along with books about the worlds history and geography and on the right is books about magic and weapon manuals along with story books."
It was an old man who had nearly cut short silver hair and had brown eyes. He wore a white shirt and a black tie. You couldn't see how he dressed his lower half as the counter covered it.
"Thank you." Mother said pulling me off to the left side and searching through the bookcase.
"I've read most of these books, they were in my study and some were in yours as well." I said looking at the bookshelf with a blank expression.
"Thought so. Hey owner do you know which books we should take for Kerose Academy?" Mother said calling out the the owner at the front counter.
"Let me take some out for you." The owner said as he came over to the bookshelf the mother and I were at. He took out 6 books. The books were thick and each was for a different class. History, Geography, Math, Literature, Science and Magic. "You'll need these. That will be exactly 18 silver."
"Hm alright." Mother said taking the books from him and passing them to me and taking the money needed from the bag in her Storage ring.
After we paid we exited the store and walked further down the street and entered a clothing store. It was filled with various pieces of clothing. Hoodies, dresses, trousers, shorts, shirts, T-shirts, leggings, and many other things.
"Let's try some on you." Mother said looking at me and dragging me off while gathering a ton of clothes and got me to change into each of them.
"There is no need for this." I said as I picked up one of the dresses mother bought me.
"Well you could use this to pass time and I wanted you to try on some clothes so here we are. Now hurry up!" Mother said shoving me into a changing room.
"Whatever." I said as I got changed.
We proceeded to try on the majority of clothing in the shop and mother bought me most of them because she said they suited me and I told her it was a waste but she didn't care.
We exited the shop and it was already night time so we just headed back to the inn with a load of clothes and some books in mother's ring.
'I've probably read all of those books but that doesn't really matter.' I thought to myself as I entered our room in the inn.
"I'm going to go to sleep." I said
"What? No food?" Mother gasped.
"I'm not hungry, I'll just wash and go to bed."
"Alright then we'll I'm heading downstairs to get something to eat. Goodnight sweetie."
"Uh huh."
I went to the bathroom and washed myself before heading towards my bed and covering myself.
'I should feel hungry but I don't. How odd.' I thought to myself while staring at the ceiling before closing my eyes and going to sleep.

It was now the day of the exams and I was heading towards the gate where I saw a swarm of people that were waiting to head in so I joined them. Mother went out early in the morning to do whatever she wanted wherever she wanted to and left me to go by myself.
'Seeing as the books that I was told to buy were ones I've read I'm decently sure I've studied enough.' I thought as I stood there waiting for the person showing us to the hall.
The gate opened and a single person came out. She was three inches taller than me making her 5'5 and she had long red hair and frosty light blue eyes with pale white skin.
'So this is when we meet again, Tess.'
Tess looked around the group and her eyes eventually landed on me, looking me up and down before she turned away smiling.

(Tess POV)
'Ugh why do I have to show the examinees to the hall, I was about to go train with Catherine. They are probably all just going masters and young ladies from Noble houses that think they know everything.'
I walked down the path and opened the gate and walked out standing in front of the group of people looking at them all.
'Just as I thought. Look at all their smug looks and the way they stand. They think they are so amazing but this exam will show them otherwise. I hope they take their bad scores to heart so they can learn and improve themselves and lose their attitudes.' I thought as I scanned every person and eventually my eye caught one person with an emotionless expression.
She stood at the height of 5'2 and had black hair that resembled the night sky. Her eyes resembled deep purple gems that would be on the most expensive jewellery. She wore casual clothing which was a white shirt and black trousers.
'No way. Kiera is here?! She remembered! She looks so pretty now, not saying that she didn't before but now she is gorgeous! I wonder if she recognises me.'
I turned my face back to the rest of the group with a smile.
"Welcome everyone to Kerose Academy, I'm Tess and I'll be showing you to the hall while giving you a brief summary about what the tests will consist of. Please follow me." I said as I turned and walked through the gate with everyone following behind me.
'I wonder how well Kiera will do. I bet she will pass though so it doesn't matter.'
"There will be a total of three tests. A written one which consists of maths, science and history another test will be testing your physical capabilities and the last one has two parts. Using magic and knowledge of magic. Any questions?"
Nobody had any questions so I continued,
"The first test you will go through is your physical capabilities then you will take a break for about ten minutes before doing you first part of your magic test, your knowledge of magic and then your second half which is your use of magic both offensive and defensive use as well as using it for everyday things. How much mana you have and your elemental affinities will also be tested. Lastly you will go to the testing hall for your written test. I cannot say anything about how they will test you or what to expect in any of the tests. Any questions?"
Nobody said anything and stayed silent.
"Alright. We are almost at the training area for your physical test so get prepared. Once you are finished you can take a break. I will be waiting on the sidelines so pay me no mind." I finished as we got to the training grounds which was a dirt ground and had four stone squares which were to be used for when friendly test sparring took place. There was lots of equipment that was kept out for the testing procedure.
'I'd like to see how much you've grown, Kiera.'

(Kiera POV)
We arrived at the physical testing area and there was a tall muscular man standing at the centre who started to approach us.
"Welcome to your first test. We will do some sparring to start off with. We aren't going to waste time so just paid up with someone." The man said.
Everyone started to pair up and three boys approached me. I could basically tell what they were thinking. They clearly thought I was weak, what idiots.
"Hey join up with me, don't worry I won't hurt you." One boy said with an arrogant look.
"Hey you shut your mouth! Come on you can pair up with me."
"Ha! Like she'll want to pair up with you idiots. Would you care to be my partner."
'They are all idiots it seems.'
"Rock paper scissors and whoever wins can pair up with me." I said as that seemed like an easy way to decide. They were all weak so it didn't matter.
"Easy!" One shouted as he turned to the others.
"Rock. paper. scissors!" They said in unison.
"Haha you both went for rock. I knew I would win!" The boy who spoke to me first said.
"Alright then. Good luck to you all." I said as I walked off with the first boy.
"My name is Zack. What's yours?" He asked.
"Kiera." I replied not bothering to look at him.
"Alright then Kiera, what weapon do you use?"
"I can use a bow and a sword." I said.
"Okay then that makes things easier if we both use swords."
'Then I can show her how much better at using a sword I am then her! Haha easy marks!' The boy thought.
"Now that you've all paired up I'll chose groups to come up and spar. Pay attention to the people fighting as it could be used as reference for when you fight and you can use their tactics. I want all pairs to line up all facing the sparring zone and you will come up from left to right." The man called out and everyone did exactly that.
"Let's go last." The boy said.
"Sure I don't mind." I replied.
'Then everyone will remember my spar the most as I went last! Stupid girl! You should have never come here.' The boy thought to himself.
