A/N:

Bad news. Next week won't have any new chapters, cuz of an upcoming school project. Besides that, we've been sent home AGAIN due to COVID-19. So this basically makes the whole project a heck of a lot harder to complete! Also, I didn't have enough time to proofread this chapter a lot, so you may find some more grammar mistakes.

'I slowly drag myself out of the cushions and walk over to the ultra highly developed faulty technology piece of sh*t equipment I used most of my fortune to buy...and what can I say, except;

「Huh?!」'

T-the scene in front of my eyes must be fake!

There's no way that this excuse of malfunctioning equipment can find the UCE after it's turned out so many faulty results...but if the readings in front of me are not due to a malfunction, then I might've found me and my fathers life-long goal!

I need to double-check this, since I'd rather not have increasing hope, just for it to plummet down again due to the readings being because of another cursed malfunction.

The readings...seems to be t-true!

Which means I've finally found the UCE!...or at least something with similar energy readings as the one our ancestors had found!

If this news is released, then maybe my fame could explode once again...but that would be far too short-sighted on my part.

Especially since the majority of people don't even know about UCE's as they're only taught about when taking specific educations.

Enough about that!

I need to travel to the coordinates of the readings immediately, or else I won't find out what could cause such dangerous readings...besides I'm not even sure, that I'm the only on that has found these readings...which in turn means, I really need to hurry up, or someone else might arrive before me!

20 minutes to fetch an intergalactic ride is too much precious time wasted!

And what audacity does this crazy driver have to force me to pay more because they see I'm in a hurry?!

Do they think they can just squeeze my wallet empty because of that, huh?!

One day, I'll show people like this, that you don't mess with someone like me!

I'm a petty person, and that especially means you don't go against me!

A lot of other scientists and physics have made fun of me and my research, the same they did to my father.

But now that I've found this, I'll be able to give them the middle finger and tell them they can go f*ck themselves since they're so stuck up.

And yes, even in this era, we use the middle-finger...which is very childish, but I like it.

Anyway, we're getting a bit sidetracked here.

Since our civilization has developed lightspeed technology, we quickly arrived from where the source of the UCE was last seen according to my equipment.

And what can I say except...what I saw was pretty unexpected.

To be honest, It just looked like a very ancient portal, with vines growing all over it, pretty harmless looking.

But, I know this is just a facade, for the naked eye can't see the huge amounts of radiation and cosmic energies this thing is releasing.

「Hello?? Are you going to pay or what? You've been staring at that piece of brick and weird jelly for 5 minutes now! I don't have time to wait for you, you know?」

Coming out of my stupor because of this idiotic and greedy intergalactic taxi driver, I give him a glare that was icy cold.

「Don't you know what this is?! It's revolutionary! It could potentially help us further development of space travel technology! This is beyond anything money can buy! But of course, what could I expect from a sorry being like you?」

「Hey man, I'm sorry for sounding rude before, but I really need you to pay for the ride.」

「I'm sorry, but that won't be happening anytime soon. Thanks for the ride.」

With that, I take a syringe filled with translucent liquid and jam it into the taxi drivers neck, and within seconds his body has gone limp.

I know it may be brutal, but I won't tolerate a mere taxi driver knowing this...though it probably was my fault for telling him some sensitive information...

A couple of minutes later, and I'm in a spacesuit, floating towards the strange portal.

I know It's pretty dumb to get so close to an unidentified object with such strong radiation and cosmic energy readings...but it's all for science!

As I am in front of the portal, I feel this urging in the back of my mind, telling me to touch the portal.

At first, I easily resist it, but it simply gets stronger and stronger and trying to resist soon proved to be futile...

My finger touches the swirling mass of cosmic energies and I feel like the world turned inside out...
