34 As promised...

I ignored that experience gained out of nowhere for the moment and turned my attention to rabbits again. The guild had missions of all kinds, that one, in particular, was of collection. Despite being monsters, those rabbits seemed to be edible and taste better than a normal one. Therefore, the more rabbits hunted the more money we get. The problem was that Aeldrya didn't expect to hunt that many.

"We can't carry that many with us."

“I can…”

—No, don't talk about inner space. Is better to hide that skill.

In the end, they were only able to carry a total of nineteen rabbits with difficulty. They could have made an effort to carry one more... Still, after turning around and heading back, Limy reached out a tentacle and stored the remaining rabbits... They would probably end up being her dinner.

'At least this girl can't be blamed for leaving food on her dish...'

‘Again… Should I be happy or worried? Well, nothing will happen... I hope...'

As soon as we entered the city we began to hear laughter in the background. People seemed to find it funny to see that pair carrying so many rabbit carcasses, and it goes without saying how much the adventurers laughed when we got into the guild. However, I did not pay much attention, by that time I had already risen to level 4. I was starting to have a bad omen...

"Aeldrya… you're supposed to teach your apprentice, not do everything for her," Clotpole laughed wryly.

"I know it's hard to believe, but she hunted them alone," Aeldrya replied.

"This girl? Alone? How?"

"I prefer not to tell…”

"Ok…. we all have our secrets. Still, there are so many. Let me see if there are more of the same requests."

It was then that I first discovered the world's monetary system. I thought they would use gold silver and copper coins... but no, they used coins of different values that were probably made of some copper alloy with some other metal. They called that money Talucos. They seemed to be the proper coins of the county we were in, and they had the face of a very ugly old man printed on them...

Clotpole only kept fifteen of those rabbit monsters. The mission asked for five, but Aeldrya wanted to bring them all saying that this was a fairly common mission and there could be demand. She was completely right, there were three more orders... and for one rabbit she couldn't complete them all... I already knew that she must have carried twenty... The other four she had to keep for dinner…

After finishing our business in the guild, we left immediately the building. As soon as we take a few steps, we find impressive chaos on the streets. Lots of people in blue robes and spectacular staves were heading to the north gate along with guards and other people carrying buckets of water.

"What's going on?" Aeldrya asked one of those running to the door.

"There's a big fire in the north and it's spreading more and more. I don't think it will cross the wall, but it is dangerous. We have to control it as soon as possible."

"Fire in the north? We have just come from there and everything was fine."

When we looked closely, we could see the smoke rising above the walls... The fire had already come close enough.

"Looks like there are two independent fires spreading separately. It was probably provoked by some fool that has been playing with fire carelessly."

"Really? Is there an idiot who would light a fire this time of year? The grass is quite dry and burns easily. He would have to be very stupid to not realize that. It must have been on purpose."

‘Wow... there seems to be a pyromaniac on the loose, huh? ... I wonder who could be... I don't know…’

‘What the fuck is that supposed to mean?!’

[Calling you an idiot is an insult to idiots.]

‘Why do I ask…’

[To understand what an idiot you are.]

‘That was a rhetorical question!’

"As we find out who it was, he will end up burned."

'Come on, good luck with the search… and burning him… That will be more difficult than finding him… Damn it! I will end up burning them all!'

‘What I needed to brighten my day... Fuck you!’

Since we had nothing to do with the fire problem, we headed south of the city. Aeldrya didn't say where she was taking us, but it wasn't his house. After walking for ten minutes and entering some alleys, we ended up in front of a fairly normal house.

"Here we are…" Aeldrya said as she gazed at the entrance with drooping ears and a disgusted face.

We could hear the sound of a hammer hitting metal from inside the house. Next to the door was a small drawing of an anvil, implying that this was a smithy.

"I promised to give you a reward and I'm going to do it. Every adventurer needs good equipment to succeed. No matter how strong you are, without a good weapon or armor, you won't get far. And after seeing your fighting style… I think you need something special to suit you. The typical swords or spears won't suit you... This is the only place that can make a specialized weapon for you."

She looked back at that house and laughed wryly. She seemed to be somewhat concerned about entering that place.

"Time to go in!”

She took a deep breath and then entered the house kicking open the door.

"Damn! Who… ?!" Came a hoarse voice from the back of the house.

"I'm back! Shake your fat ass and come meet me properly if you don't want to piss me off!"

Before long, a stocky man appeared running, with a thick reddish beard that reached to his feet. Although there was a small detail with that man, he was not much more than a hundred and forty centimeters tall. He looked at him however he looked at him, he was a genuine dwarf.

"Damn! Aeldrya, is that you ?!"

He came so hastily and nervous that he tripped over his own beard and fell on his face, letting a hammer fly over his head.

"Ouch, that hurts!"

"With such a small body you should be able to balance better. I can't believe you are so useless even to walk. It would also help if you got that nasty thing off your face, it's disgusting."

"You, damn shameless elf, It's your fault! Are you trying to scare me to death one day ?! Come in like a normal person!"

"Yes Yes. By the way, I'm thirsty. I'm going to get a beer."

She entered the house without even asking for permission. That dwarf got up and sat in a chair that he had around while he waited for Aeldrya to return as if not caring so much. Limy and I hadn't moved from the entrance a single millimeter, trying to understand what was happening.

—Master…

—Don't ask… I don't understand absolutely anything…. Although I have heard that dwarves and elves can't stand each other… Could be that?
