Prologue

A teenager kept busy as he watched the nobles show off their extravagant magic tricks like peacocks opening their tails to impress their mates.

Different students wearing different star badges which depicts their strength and magic prowess. The black haired teen was joyfully swinging his legs as he sat at the edge of the rooftop whilst looking down on the boisterous happenings from below.

Water, wind, fire, earth, lightning, plants, light and many more magic was being projected and fired that it created a beautiful image once looked up from above.

He squinted his slanted eyes and grinned as he looked at the sweating youths who were filled with energy.

"You seem to be having fun."

A voice that seemed to come from nowhere sounded.

"Well it does look festive from up here."

"Magic ain't anything special."

The young mans shadow that was refracted by the strong sun wavered before wiggling to form into an odd shaped being that looked like a bear with fangs.

"I know." The young man said as he flashed his oddly shaped shadow a small smile.

The shadow seemed to have been pleased at the young mans agreement as it wavered again in happiness before finally returning to a normal humanly shape.

Kawlan returned back his sight on to the youths below.

Mahika, huh?

The mahikaless him could never phantom the thought of magic. However, he wasn't bitter about his unfortunate magic capabilities.

This was because he had companions with him.

This reminds him of a perfectly relatable line from a cartoon film he used to watch back in his original world .

"Because I got friends from the other side."

The young man lightly hopped down from the scary edge and his shadow danced and seemed to have grown seven pairs of frightening eyes. He gave his shadow a smile and the pairs of eyes squinted in glee before vanishing back into his shadow. The young man, Kawlan, as if nothing unusual was done calmly walked out of the rooftop with a sleepy yawn.

"I'm definitely a night person."
