12 Class Representative

Arata landed with a thud on the ground. He had a red mark on his cheek where Akari had hit him. He sat up slowly, hand on his cheek and then saw the panicked Akari staring back at him.

After a second of silence, Akari started laughing. She clutched her stomach as she laughed out loud. Arata couldn't help but find her laugh pleasant. And soon he was laughing too. Just two kids laughing hysterically on the ground.

Akari got up, feeling much better; she walked over to Arata and pulled him up. As she saw the red mark on his face, she blushed and looked down.

"Sorry about that, I was processing when all of a sudden you were so close. My body just reacted. Even after you healed me and...."

Arata turned serious and emanated a vicious aura which cut off Akari. She stared, slightly scared, at the angry and murderous eyes staring back at her. Arata then smiled and the aura was gone. Arata laughed it off.

"No worries, I was also the one that injured you, so I kind of deserved that if you think about it."

Akari took a second to process before giggling again.

"That is really too much of a change."

Arata chuckled and scratched his head.

"Well, my Father has a bit of a reputation of being a badass. I can't exactly come along and destroy his image, ya know?"

Akari sighed.

"Yeah I get that. I guess we're both in the same boat in that area."

Akari looked a little lost for a second as she thought about something. Arata sensed the change in Akari and felt an urge to change the mood.

"So, from that statement, I guess you believe I am who I say I am now?"

Akari looked at Arata. She smirked.

"There are similarities between you and Lord Azrail, you do look a lot a like. And your moves are reminiscent of his. But I still can't say for sure yet."

Arata frowned.

"Seriously? But you should know my Father's techniques to a degree. I mean, I used your own Clan's techniques to defeat you, ya know? How would I do that if I wasn't who I said I was?"

Akari seemed to be thinking things over. Suddenly an idea hit her. Akari looked up with a shine in her eyes. Arata didn't like that look. A shiver went down his spine as she locked eyes with him. He felt something that would involve effort was coming. Ugh. Effort.

"You're right. You beat me. And how could you be so cruel to a girl? Regardless, you beat me. So time to get your reward."

Reward? Arata was confused. What kind of reward? For some reason his eye line fell to her lips. He didn't know why, as he was just a kid, but her lips seemed really pretty for some reason.

"It's not worth it."

Arata spun around and was on edge instantly. It was that voice again. He looked around but couldn't see anyone or anything out of place. Would you just butt out? Mind your own business disembodied, shadowy voice guy!

"Come on, let's go back to class."

Not noticing what Arata was thinking, Akari grabbed his arm and pulled him with her. She ran back to class with him in tow. Arata was still weakened so he just let her pull him along as he thought about that weird voice again.

As the classroom door came into view, he snapped out of his thoughts and stopped her.

"Wait."

Akari turned around to face him. Arata spoke quietly to her.

"Since you are the daughter of Uncle Aki, I'm sure you know and understand my Father's code of conduct. As his son, there is a certain level of nobility I must project and an image I must uphold."

Akari smiled.

"I do. My Father makes me do the same. They have a legacy that as the heirs we can not tarnish. After seeing you laugh and smile, I had guessed that the arrogant stunt you pulled before was just an act and this is the real you. I prefer this you but I understand the necessity of it all. But could you maybe tone the arrogance down a little? It's a bit much, don't you think?""

Arata chuckled. She wasn't called a genius for nothing. She had broken him down easily. He shook his head thinking how easily he revealed his true self to her and her quick analysis of his personality and persona.

"Tone it down? A bit much? You're just too in awe of my outstanding acting skills."

They both laughed quietly. Akari turned to the classrom door and her smile vanished. Her face now the cold beauty Arata had seen before. Elegance now radiated off of her. Arata took the cue and he donned the arrogant demeanour once again.

Akari opened the door and walked in, the class all saw that she wasn't injured anymore. Her admirers sighed in relief. However their eyes threw knives at Arata, who walked in casually behind her. As Akari bowed to the class and the teacher, Arata ignored everyone and made his way back to his seat.

Akari rose from her bow and spoke to Teacher Takuma.

"Sorry for worrying you Teacher Takuma. I am no longer injured."

Teacher Takuma nodded. Although she looked irritated, she was internally relieved to see that one of her top students was alright.

"I hope you learned something from your little exchange Miss Class Rep."

"I did indeed gain a great deal from the battle. However, it is true that I lost the battle between myself and Arata. He bested me and there is no getting around that."

Teacher Takuma raised her eyebrows. She had not expected the proud daughter of the Angel of Light to speak in this way.

"You seem to want to say something. Say it."

Akari nodded gently in response.

"I wish to resign as the Class Representative and give the title to Arata Sato."

The class froze for a second. The shock of Akari wanting to give the title of Class Representative over to the new kid was too much for them to handle.

"Class Rep! No!"

"You should be the Class Rep!"

"We don't want that arrogant idiot as our Class Rep!"

"You can't be replaced; you are Class 7's Representative, right Teacher Takuma?"

While the class voiced their complaints, Arata gave Akari a glare that basically said "what the hell was that?"

She had completely thrown him in the lions den. More than the Class Rep thing, she had said more than he wanted her to say. Something that the class had thankfully missed in their outrage. But as he looked over at Teacher Takuma, he knew that it wouldn't stay missed for long.

Reiko Takuma was silently processing. Her giving up the Class Representative postion was one thing, but she was more shocked at what she called him. Did she say Sato? Arata Sato? As in the Sato Clan?

As the class continued to complain and plead with Akari, Teacher Takuma turned around and shouted to the class.

"Silence!"

The room went still. Teacher Takuma turned back to Akari.

"Did you say Arata Sato? As in the Sato Clan?"

The Angel of Light was a top figure in the Kingdom of Kakuso. The Ise Clan had so much power and influence throughout the Kingdom that they were seen to be on the same level of importance as the Royal Family themselves. So having the Heir to the Ise Clan in her class, Teacher Takuma treated her well, as did the entire class.

She had a regal nature that charmed them all and her beauty was unmatched. Add the fact that she was undoubtedly strong, it was an obvious choice for her to be the Class Representative.

But the Sato Clan was on the same footing.

The Angel of Death was an equally respected figure, although more elusive than the Angel of Light, when he did appear in public, he was exalted highly by everyone.

Could this young boy be from the very same Sato Clan?

The students, having heard what Teacher Takuma said, all stared in shock at Arata. Outwardly, Arata hadn't budged; he was staring at the ceiling completely unfazed by everything. Inwardly, he was silently cursing Akari.

'This is a reward? How? I want to just sleep in the back of the class, can I not do that?'

He glanced at Akari and she had a satisfied smirk on her face. Arata sighed. She's truly a tricky one, he inwardly laughed to himself. Teacher Takuma looked over at Arata.

"State your name and title."

Arata sighed. No point in hiding it now. Why did she have to open her big mouth? He looked over to Teacher Takuma casually, as if this whole exchange meant nothing to him.

"Arata Sato. 11 years old. Son of Azrail Sato, the Angel of Death. Heir to the Sato Clan."

Teacher Takuma's eyes widened. Not only was he in the Sato Clan, he was the heir? This was too much for her to handle. The class erupted in discussion.

"No way!"

"Lies! He has to be lying!"

"He can't be the son of my idol! He's too full of himself!"

"Don't tarnish the name of the Angel of Death with your lies!"

"I don't sense any Dark Elements on him, he's obviously lying!"

As the class continued to shout and harass Arata, he just glared at Akari who hadn't seen this coming. She didn't think that the class would react in this way. They truly adored her and wouldn't believe that this cocky kid who defeated her could be the heir to the Sato Clan, someone of equal footing to her.

Arata was getting annoyed now. He didn't really care about comments usually, he only cared because his persona is supposed to care, but this was different. By looking down on him, they were spitting on his Father's name. They didn't think he was his Father's son? He's your idol yet you have the nerve to insult his son?

'You don't believe me? Let's see who can prove I'm not.'

He walked down to the stage. As he did, the class went silent. He walked to the centre of the stage and crouched down. Everyone was wondering what he was doing. Some of them laughed and ridiculed him. Then he stabbed his hand into the stage. The class was shocked. The stage was made out of a special metal so that it wouldn't be destroyed easily, thus people could have battles on it, but he pierced it like it was jelly.

Then, to even more of a shock to the class, he scraped around him, his hand tearing through the metal, until he had made a circle around him. He stood up and looked at the stunned class. His eyes burned with a cold fury that sent a chill down everyone's spine, even Teacher Takuma was effected by it. Akari stared curiously as she could tell that he wasn't acting right now.

Arata eyed out the class with a calm yet murderous gaze, killing intent seemed to radiate off of him. He spoke in a calm and even tone.

"If you think I'm not the son of Azrail Sato, push me out of the circle. If you can, I'll leave the school. If you can't, then you will retract all your comments. But this will be the last time that I will prove who I am."
