11 Skipping town

'What on earth?'

'This is the most confusing thing that's happened to me in a while.'

'Apparently, it seems like these syringes are just copies of other god's abilities.'

'Wait, then does that mean people found a way to get abilities other than praying?'

'What the fuck?! All this time I had been praying and begging to get blessed yet people found a way to copy another god's power.'

'However, it seems that if someone does inject themselves with these types of syringes the god that they copy the ability from becomes angry with them. So maybe it's a good thing I got my power from a prayer.'

Looking at the panel screen in front of me I read over the new changes.

It seems like the god whose power was in the syringe is a warrior god.

Also, it looks like he wants to put us to the challenge to fight till the last one stands.

'That sounds like so much fun!'

Looking at the challenger bar I smile.

'So many more abilities and stats to steal.'

Finished in the bunker I exit back out the trapdoor.

But this time I leave it open to flood.

Entering a random house I search for and find a leather sack.

Picking it up I take it to the shed where I then fill it full of cans.

Only thirty fit in the sack so with the remainder I activated Frost and then smashed them on the ground destroying all the contents.

With the base completely ransacked and my stash full I left it in ruins.

As I left the gate that once trapped me outside I activate my new ability.

Flight.

As soon as I spent mana to activate at it, it was as if I had always known how to fly.

I did not need to practice or have any difficulty rising up into the sky.

'This is fucking awesome!' I say as I look at the ground below me.

Then activating Thermal Sight I start flying in a random direction.

The speed at which I flew was insane and incomparable to the speed at which I could run.

Within next to no time passing I left the town and was flying through a forest.

Soaring over the tops of the trees looking down was a nice feeling. It gave me a sense that felt good when looking down on things.

I continued my travels for a couple more hours before my mana was depleted and I had to land.

Deep in the forest I sat under a tree and grabbed my sack.

I pulled out a random can and it turned out to be beans.

Opening the can I finished them quickly before tossing it and preparing for a night's rest.

When I woke up in the morning it was sort of eerie. Because all the animals had died or left the forest, it was absolutely silent.

But it was something I was used to.

After everyone left and I was all alone it just was me and my thoughts.

Which meant that it was always quiet.

As I stood up as brushed some leaves off my clothes I once again activated my Flight ability.

Rising up above the treetops I continued my journey to the next city over.

Hours later I arrive at the outskirts only to discover that I was out of mana.

Not wanting to enter a new zone without any means to protect myself. I figured I would spend one last night in the woods.

So I set up camp under another tree, ate some food, and went to sleep.

Early in the morning before the sun had yet to rise I woke up.

I flew back up into the sky and activated my Thermal Sight.

My plan was just to dive-bomb anyone I could find.

And that's what I did for months without end.

City after city, town after town, I infiltrated and killed all the inhabitants.

Arriving in front of a rundown house in the center of the city a dark and terrifying smile crept its way onto my face.

'This is it. The last person.'

Landing in front of the house I open the door and walk inside.

Even before the world went up in flames I could tell that the house wasn't in good shape.

Passing through the entrance hall and into the living room of the building. I come face to face with a young boy that is only slightly younger than me.

The kid looked up at me with blank eyes.

I knew those eyes, they were the same I had when everyone abandoned me.

Pissed, I flicked my hand as if I was swatting a bug.

Implode: For the cost of fifty mana a bubble will form around someone and crush them.

Blood sprayed out everywhere and bones went flying.

"Fucking trash," I mutter.

*Ding*

Although my mood was ruined due to being reminded of how I once was. When I heard the sound of the mission being completed my heart rate increased dramatically.

The planet Earth is now barren of life.

Humanity on this planet ceases to exist.

"We're the same, forgotten."

Saying a final goodbye to the planet that I spent my whole life on I activate Flight and slowly ascent into the sky.

Rising higher and higher I break through the atmosphere into space.

Then with one final glimpse back, I shoot off into the depths of the unknown.
