2 Beginning(2)

He stomped on the ground.

At the same time, I felt someone jump from above the balcony.

He landed on the ground and kneeled with one knee. He was covered in black clothing, with a slight slit opening around his eyes.

I could see his body trembling uncontrollably.

"Transport Ashencroft to his room." The huge man said.

Wait, Ashencroft? That name sounds familiar, but where did it come from?

"Yes sir!"

The man in black answered with a respectful tone, and as he stood up, he made some hand gestures.

Immediately, a dark-looking portal appeared next to him, and he bowed respectfully, indicating that I should enter.

I was shocked, but I tried my best to hide it because it looked like it was a normal thing for them.

Now I was 100 percent sure that this was not my world. What he just did would be impossible to do back on earth.

It was magic.

This portal probably led to my room, but I was still a little scared.

However, I couldn't cause suspicion, and therefore I approached the portal.

But before I entered it, the man in the military uniform stopped me.

"Remember that tomorrow, the king wants to meet you." He said while taking a puff of his cigarrette.

I nodded.

Closing my eyes, I entered the portal, and I could feel a slight pull.

Immediately, the cold, fresh air was replaced with a warm one.

As I slowly opened my eyes, I saw a big suite that looked like it was made for presidents.

There were paintings of nature and a huge king-sized bed, with luxurious white sofas and a huge chandelier in the middle of the room.

It looked like a room that would be the most expensive in a hotel.

The portal disappeared from behind me, and finally I could relax.

This was the best choice, especially since I was in an unfamiliar world.

The previous owner must have had high status if he had a room like this.

His name was Ashencroft, but why does it sound so familiar to me?

I tried to explore the room to see if I could find any hints about his identity.

And that's when I saw myself in the mirror.

Black hoodie, black pants, and some sneakers.

That was the only normal part.

It was his face and hair that completely shocked me.

I already had a suspicion that I had possessed another person, but seeing a different face was still shocking.

A handsome face with middle-length messy black hair and tan skin.

But it was the eyes that truly surprised me. They looked fierce and were stunningly red at the same time.

They were unique, and that's how I remembered why Ashencroft sounded so familiar to me.

Rylan Ashencroft.

That was the full name of the person that I possessed.

He was a famous side character from a novel that I had wanted to read.

"F*ck, this is bad."

It was a novel that I wanted to read, but there was one reason why I didn't.

A comment spoiled that this character would die, and the novel would become sh*t afterwards.

I only skimmed the first chapter, and after reading the comment, I dropped the novel, thinking it would be a waste of time.

If the novel became sh*t, then there would be no reason for me to continue it. That was my thought process.

Sigh.

I sat down on the luxurious sofa.

"But I really should have read that novel."

The feeling of regret was very intense, since I had now possessed this character.

The worst part is that this character would die. But I didn't know when and where.

Sigh.

"I need to make a plan."

The novel's name was "Resurrection of the Demon God.".

From the synopsis, it was just a normal fantasy novel where the main character, the hero, was the one destined to kill the demon god.

At least, I think that was the plot. It has been so long since I read the first chapter that I only remember the main character's name and his general backstory.

Kieran.

That was the name of the main character; he was an orphan born in the slums, which is why he didn't have a last name.

He had white hair and green eyes, so at least those features would be recognizable.

So finding the character should be easy enough, because how many people could have white hair and green eyes?

But what do I even do when I find him?

It's not like he can do anything about my situation.

I have no idea how the story was supposed to unfold.

And there was still a problem with the character that I possessed. It was that I knew nothing about him.

The only thing I remember from a discussion about the novel was that Rylan Ashencroft was strong.

And he was not just strong but so overpowered that the author had to kill him.

I was happy that the character I possessed was strong, but knowing that the author would kill him was not a pleasant thing at all.

But how strong is Rylan Ashencroft?

I know that he is overpowered, but it was Rylan Ashencroft that was strong, not me.

I had no idea how the power system worked in this world. The only thing I could guess was that this was probably a typical fantasy novel with nobles and kingdoms.

But that information was useless.

I was starting to get a little annoyed by the situation I was in, and the headache that I had was not helping at all.

I took a deep breath.

"Relax; the situation is not that bad; it could've been a lot worse."

Since my character was supposed to be overpowered, maybe I have the same strength.

But how strong was this character?

I stood up from the luxurious sofa, and I tried to look for something heavy.

I turned my direction toward the sofa that I had just sat on.

"That should be heavy enough."

The sofa that was white and gold was a lot bigger than a normal sofa. It would probably be around 100 kg or more.

I crouched down and tried to make my back as straight as possible to not get an injury.

It would be very bad if I already had a back injury on the first day.

I slowly reached my hand under the sofa, and I quickly tried to lift it.

The sofa jumped from my hands and hit the chandelier on the ceiling.

The chandelier broke and glass shattered on the ground, and the sofa also fell to the ground, making a loud bang.

"What the f*ck?"
