Happy Ending

(A/N: This novel is meant to be fun and stupid. I hope you enjoy it, as I am enjoying writing this absurdity. Please leave a review and drop a power stone if you enjoy!)

---------------------------

So.. where the hell am I? I've been stuck in this white walled room for what felt like months. There's nothing in here. No furniture or even doors. I tried knocking on the walls, but they seemed impossibly tough, like the hardest material I could have ever encountered would pale in comparison.

This place should be impossible for me to be in. One minute I was walking home from work, and the next I was here. See, before I arrived here, I had just finished my shift as a bartender. The pay wasn't the best, but it was enough of a pay for the room I had rented while I was studying at university. I was not smart enough to get a scholarship, even though I always tried my best in high school. My parents couldn't afford to send me to school, so I had to take out a loan to even start classes. I had a couple of friends, my parents cared about me, I played sports regularly and I was a social person, but I digress. That has nothing to do with my current situation.

I was lost in thought, still after months of being stuck here, I kept trying to find my way out, but nothing ever worked. I even tried punching the walls, but that got me nowhere. I think I'm giving up.

"Hello?! Is anyone out there? Please let me out," I yelled out, my voice echoing inside the room. I was hoping to hear a voice, but there was nothing. "If this is some kind of weird science experiment to find out if someone can survive in solitary, you've finished it! I can't handle it anymore!" I kept yelling out.

Nothing, no one. That last yelling episode felt like it was weeks ago. See, the weird thing about this place is that I can't sleep. Maybe they pumped me with some new type of drug that makes it able for someone to survive for a long time? I'm reaching at straws here at this point.

"Oh.. how did you get here?" A voice echoed from behind me. I quickly turned to the source, my body spinning like a ballerina at sonic speed. "Who?!" I yelled.

As my eyes came to focus, I saw possibly the most beautiful woman I had seen in my whole life. You think supermodels and Instagram influencers were hot? This lady beat them down with just her pinky toe. She had pink hair that cascaded down to her lower back, her eyes were golden with what seemed to be stars inside them. Maybe some cool new contacts? Her nose was buttoned, a shapely jawline and rose red plump lips. Her body? Don't even get me started. I might actually lose my virginity from just looking at it.

"Who are you?" I enquired, trying to maintain eye contact with her.

She had a small smirk on her face, her eyes creasing ever so slightly as her head titled. "You're a funny one. Those thoughts of yours are so impure, but pure at the same time. Hehe," she giggled, before slowly walking towards me. Then the wildest thing happened, a table and two chairs materialised in-front of me.. how the hell was that possible? Maybe I'm in some VR torture chamber. Wait! Did she say thoughts?!

"What do you mean, thoughts? You aren't seriously telling me you can read my mind, are you?" This is insane.

She gracefully made her way to the table before seating her, good lord, glorious ass on the chair. "Please sit. We need to have a chat." She said before gesturing to the other chair. I slowly made my way and took the seat before sitting down, slowly but surely I was sitting directly in-front of this goddess like woman. "So..?" I enquired.

"Let me be the bearer of bad news; you died." She said, her facial expressions still holding a small smile. "And you have been within the bound of reincarnation and oblivion for a long time. Somehow your soul arrived within my domain, but as I was busy, I did not realise. Sorry about that." She said.

"Dead? Nah, you're joking. Seriously, can this two-bit science experiment end now? I've missed too much work.. I'll probably be fired." Shock was echoed across my face. This is ridiculous.

"If only that was the case, dear. You remember walking home from work and then arriving here, correct?" I nodded my head in agreement. She continued, "Unfortunately, there was a mishap on the higher plane and one of my subordinates ended your life, instead of the designated person. A simple, but stupid mishap. You see, both of you shared the same name, but were vastly different. My subordinate did not do the thorough check work and ended your life." She said, a sigh escaping her lips.

"So if it was a mistake.. my death.. can't you just send me back?" Cmon, this had to be the stupidest reasoning ever.

"Unfortunately, the time you spent here was too long. The exact calculations would be that the months spent here were over 100,000 years in your world. I'm sorry, but turning back time would cause more harm than good for one soul." Her face looked truly sad. It seemed like she wanted to return me too, but my insignificant soul wouldn't be worth the trouble.

"So.. I'm dead now, off to heaven or something? That's.. a massive let down.." My nonexistent hear clenched, my future, my parents, my friends, all are dead and had already moved on from my untimely killing. "This is what I wanted to talk to you about. As this was a mistake on our part, I'd like to offer you a chance to be reborn. Your memories will be intact, and the location of your rebirth would be your own choice."

Hold up.. did she just give me the ultimate cliched novel choice? "You're right, I've seen your memories, and I thought this would be an appropriate compensation. So, what do you say?" She held a smirk on her face. Damn, she's got me there. Before I could even plan a question, she interrupted, "Yes, those fantasy worlds you've read or watched are also included."

Damn mind reading, can't even ask a question or have a solitary thought. "Okay.. this is wild. If what you said is true, then if I chose a world of imagination, from those novels and books, would I be able to gain some type of power to help myself? I really can't imagine having a safe life without some type of reassurance." I truly had to be cautious here. I couldn't go to a world of anime and manga and let myself become some insignificant ant that can't defend himself.

"Hmm, you're right. Allow me a moment to go through your memories and once again come up with the skill." She said before closing her eyes, deep contemplation could be seen. Seconds later her eyes flashed with a curious light, "I will allow you take a certain.. in human terms.. broken ability. Fate will take control of the option, but you will gain the ability to survive." She said.

"We will use a roulette to allow you to procure a template of a character from the fantasy worlds you humans crafted. No matter the results, you will be stuck with the what you win." She said, as a screen materialised between both of us. An animated roulette wheel appeared on screen, with multiple characters I had read and watched before. Saitama of One Punch Man, Kaido of One Piece, Goji of Jujutsu Kaisen and many more that I did not have knowledge of.

"If you're ready, first we will choose the world into which you will be reborn into. Then we will allow the roulette to decide your fate within this world. I will mention that the world you are reborn into will be the only world you may stay in. There is no multiverse traveling to other anime worlds, as this could would cause more harm than good. Each universe is locked and secured. As we had a higher entity allow travel eons past and it caused more paperwork for us." I could understand her justification. From what I understood, even with immortality, more work would be annoying.

Pausing for a moment, I thought about my choices. I could go OPM, but let's be very honest, I don't want to be sleeping my in home and the next minute there's a galactic monster that wipes out the whole city, One Piece the same, I really don't want to deal with Marines and Pirates all day, plus.. it's so technologically behind. I don't think I could go a day without a phone or internet.

"I think I'd like to go to Highschool DxD." I said slowly. 'No way I can tell her I really want to meet some of the hottest anime women that I've ever seen.. shit.. she can read my mind.." Amidst my thoughts I heard the goddess breakout in laughter before coughing, "I heard nothing, don't worry."

Fuck, she caught me.

"Done, you will be reborn in Highschool DxD. Now, onto the second point, press the button on the screen and allow your fate to be chosen." She said, before gesturing at the screen with a large button that said 'SPIN.'

Slowly edging my finger toward the screen, I closed my eyes before pushing my finger. An audible 'DING' resounded before I could hear the fain spinning of the wheel. God.. this was nerve-wracking. It kept spinning, my eyes tightly shut, as I couldn't bear the thought of seeing the templates I missed out on. After what seemed like minutes, I heard the wheel slowly down. Moment after moment, the wheel slowed down before the final 'DING' was sounded out.

"What the fuck?!" I heard the Goddess exclaim. What's going on? Did I land on something so stupid that I was pretty much toast when I was reborn? I slowly opened my eyes, the light entering as I looked towards the brightly illuminated words etched on the screen.

'Congratulations, you have obtained the Template: Featherine Augustus Aurora!'

H-H-HOOOOOOOOOLLLLYYYYYY SHIT!

I knew about this character. She was essentially a hyperversal existence, so strong that she couldn't be killed unless she wanted to die!

"This.. I didn't account for this.." The Goddess stammered, before a sigh of finality came out of her mouth. "There's nothing I can do. Fate allowed it and therefore I must abide by the rules I placed. You shall be reborn in Highschool DxD with the Featherine Augustus Aurora Template. Your life shall be up to your own devices. You have free reign to do as you choose, as this verse is one of infinite realities. Your decisions and actions will dictate the continuation of that world."

I was shocked, elated, and honestly still couldn't comprehend the absurdity of the results, but I knew I would have a lot fun in this world. No, this playground for me.

"I shall send you off now. Fate shall dictate again the time and place you are reborn. Please be prepared. Your rebirth will begin momentarily." She said, her voice sounded bleaker than before. I guess my powers are concerning to her, but who cares?

As I was still in deep thought, my body turned into nodes of light and I felt my consciousness fade and the surrounding warp. "Thank you." I said, unsure if she heard, but I swear I could see a faint smile on her face as I disappeared.
