Who Is Taking Revenge?

"What happened, why are you here?" Ana asked in a serious voice as she looked at the unkempt face of her brother.

"You need to go home!" He reminded her in a cold voice as he personally opened the door for the carriage instead of waiting for the footmen.

His eyes were swollen and her face looked grim. She did not ask further as she opened the door and entered in.

"Will you say something?" she pressed when his eyes turned red.

"I heard that the princes and princess come to meet you in the palace?" she nodded, not even surprised that he knew about it.

"Do you know that the princess wanted to marry the duke but your majesty did not allow it?" her hands went cold instantly but she nodded her head.

"You still want to marry him? Is he even worth your sacrifice and love?" he shook his head, "you should have thought about yourself first. What if the princess harms you?" The words stunned her for a second.

If he was talking this way..

"What happened to our parents?" if he was here and her sister was not in the palace then it only meant.

He sighed, not at all surprised that she got the hint.

"Father met with an accident when he was returning from the palace. I could have taken it as an incident too if the princess had not warned him to take care of himself and told him that the carriage accidents are common these days.

The wheel was detached suddenly making the carriage fall. He got a minor injury in his head but his leg is badly injured. The physician was still checking the wounds when he asked me to bring as soon as possible. The princess had told him that she was going to meet you." His voice was full of suppressed anger and irritation as he punched the walls of the carriage while trying to calm himself when she remembered the smile of the women.

"You will not marry him. I will personally go and talk to his majesty." he warned but she did not respond. As if his voice could not be heard anymore.

They had married before, but the princess never targeted her family in the past. Till the end, their family was never harmed. What changed this time? What made the princess panic that she dared to threaten her family blatantly.

"Can we do nothing about it?" he frowned at her choice of words.

"Watch your mouth!" he warned, "she is royalty and we are their loyal subjects. And what proof do we hold except that the princess had told father to beware of the carriage accidents and that she was relieved that you are getting married to Garrison? We can be charged for treason." she bit her lips as she looked out.

"And you think if I refuse to marry Garrison, his majesty would not target our family?" She asked, "Why do you think that he gave the royal seal to our marriage in half a day when the usual procedure takes a week." He wanted to secure the marriage before his daughter went rampant.

His eyes sank but he did not want to give up hope. "There must be some way!"

"The marriage is in five days." she reminded him as she took a deep breath. She was not even sure if she had the right to refuse after the dream.

The carriage was soon stopped as they had taken the teleportation door and the footman opened the door.

She ran to the room of her father where her mother was standing with the physician on the door.

She gave one worried look to Ana but did not stop her from entering.

"Father!" tears, she was still holding fell the moment she saw the haggard look of her father who tried to smile at her. "I am sorry! I have never thought my foolish steps would harm you." she shook her head as she saw the bandage wrapped around his leg and his head.

"It is not your mistake. Come here and sit beside me." he patted the bed and she dragged her body there. "Ana! I want you to stay alert, if possible… I do not know. Do you really want to marry him?" his eyes looked sunken. As if his age had increased in just a night.

"I am fine! Nothing would happen to me, father. And I promise that nothing will happen to the family." she hugged her father when he sighed but nodded,

"As long as you are happy. I will assign more knights around you." he did not stop her. She wondered if she should be thankful about it or hurt but she nodded her head.

"Father! Assign more knights to others rather than me. I am going to marry Garrison, his knights would protect me." he looked worried and hesitated before he added,

"Precious! What if he knew what princess had done? What if.. He wanted the same too?" her heart dropped but she still mustered a smile on his face.

"No! I am sure that he wanted to get rid of the obsession of the princess or else he would not have accepted me as his wife. Even today, he protected me from the princess and asked me to rest in the chamber of Rowan.'' She lied but his father looked relieved instantly.

"If that is the case, then it is fine. I am sure that he had the power to protect you. Much better than I could do. As long as you are happy, I am not worried about anything else."

"Father!" she hugged him again, 'but i will only be happy when i take my revenge against all of them.'
