[Bonus chapter]

The room was dimly lit, giving it a sensuous ambiance. The banisters of the stairs were adorned with fresh lilies. A thick red velvet carpet stretched from the stairs all the way across the hall. 

The sconces held fragrant candles made from real beeswax. The tables in the corners were draped in soft white satin, complementing the lilies. Each table was set with silverware, with only goldware on the royal family's table.

Everyone was in the hall except for Richard. When Ana entered the ballroom, her eyes immediately found Elowen. She was sitting beside Lucas, and this time, her counselor had joined them.

They were engrossed in discussion, with Lucas wearing a cold and irked expression. Ana smiled until her eyes met Meredith's. Lucas stood behind her seat, and she gazed at the whole scene with bored eyes.

Many noble ladies were staring at her, waiting for Meredith to acknowledge them so they could approach her.
