"Why would I do that? I am not in love with any woman. I only need one to fulfill the position of duchess. And I already have you for that." he frowned, his expression telling her that he did not like the question.

She scoffed and looked towards the window. He did not have someone he loved? Could he choose another day to spout such nonsense. He had met with his lover and kissed her hands in front of everyone. 

"Do you now!" she spat with sarcasm and looked out of the window when he frowned again.

"Why? Do you doubt me? Or are you jealous?" she blinked. Her face hardened.

Jealous! Ha! How better if she would have been jealous only. But she had crossed that line. Now she could only feel hatred for him from every nerve. 

He kept staring at her but she did not reply. Ben who was feeling second hand embarrassment coughed and passed another document to get his attention.

Rest of the journey passed that way.
