35 Where The Ocean Glitters Under The Moon

[Nagi's POV]

We had our barbeque and Yasu and Kenji did something back in the market that is why they're hauled up on the couch.

I looked to the others enjoying the food, "Hey, don't forget to save some for the boys okay?"

"Yes, I'll save some for them, could you please pass me a plate and a plastic wrap."

"Here you go."

"Thank you!" Fumi grabs a piece of each meat and placed it on a plate covered in a wrap.

"Aaaw" Nami's voice sounded like she hurt herself.

"Hey, Sis, what's wrong, you cut yourself?" I grabbed my sister's hand.

"It's just a small cut, I'll be fine."

"Whatever, you are so girly, you are going to hate having to leave a scar on it."

"I always wonder why, he is so nice to us."

"Who, Kenji? Well because we all share one common goal."

"I told him my feelings, yet he didn't hate me, despised me, even knowing that it might break our friendship."

"I knew it, you really are somehow selfish, are you? Well, it's fine to be selfish sometimes. I'm just glad that he hear you out. No one is going to defeat the girl he loves the most as they share a dream together from the start. You idiot" I stood up and smiled.

"HAHAHA, yeah I know right, I'm stupid."

I know about my sisters' feelings for Kenji, I tried to keep it to myself, because I don't want to hurt her by stopping her.

At nighttime, we all are gathered in the cottage but Kenji is nowhere to be found.

"Fumi, where is Kenji?"

"Oh, he went out for a walk along the beach."

"Okay, I'm going out as well."

"Take care and be careful not to get lost."

I saw him sitting by the sea wall,

"Hey, Kenji?"

"Oh, Nagi, what is it?"

"Can I sit beside you?"

"Sure, did something wrong happened with Fumi?"

"Eh, nothing they're all in the cottage. I just went out for a walk then I saw you."

"Oh, what's up"

"The moon is beautiful tonight, isn't it?" I used a metaphor

"Why are you talking in metaphor."

As expected he'll catch it.

"I've heard from Nami, that she told you everything."

"Oh, are you mad because I did not accept it?"

"Stupid, I am not going to be mad, why would I...I'm just glad that you hear her out even it would hurt her you know."

"I was just joking, is that why you are here?"

"It's kind of strange, ever since we got all together, we would all reach this certain level of friendship. And even that you are all over Fumi we get into this type of situation where we get involved with such dangerous feelings."

"I really don't understand what you guys find in me...but whatever I'm glad we all met and I will never forget about that."

As usual, Kenji is so dense, honest, and approachable that is why we all are over him. Although he doesn't know about it.

"Let's change the topic, hehe!"

"Haha, yeah..so I've heard you can't swim?"

"Eh, I'm fine, this is the fun part of the beach, building a sandcastle and going with friends right."

Why does he have to start off about me not knowing how to swim.

"Oh, I'm sorry! Yeah"

"So did you have fun, Kenji?"

"Yeah, I did and I got a lot of ideas stored and noted."

"That's good to know, me too, I did enjoy, however, I want to play more though…."

"We can tomorrow!"

We are talking as if naturally, I want to ask him more about today or himself but nothing is coming through my mind.

This is fun it's like I'm fine just being able to talk to Kenji, I also like him, honestly, I want to tell him that but I have already given up since the day I found that Nami also liked him.

[Fumi's POV]

I wonder what's taking them so long, maybe something happened.

"I'm going out to look for them."

"Yeah, it is taking so long already, we need help with this stuff," Kozue replied.

"And we have to go bathe together, right?" Hanako implored.

"Yeah, I'll get them back on time."

I ran outside with haste looking for them.

I found them sitting by the seawall,

"Hey, Nagi, Kenji-"

Then as I come close I saw Nagi kissed him or I might just have misunderstood it because of my angle, then I heard.

"You don't have to be worried about it, I have given up on you, Nami as well, you already know it right?"

"Yeah."

Then they looked at me in surprise…

Nagi stared at me, then said

"I-I'm sorry…"

Before I could say anything Nagi ran past me.

Kenji is just staring at me like he has seen a ghost.

[Nagi's POV]

"I'm sorry Kenji I can't hold it anymore!" I kissed Kenji

He was surprised and was left speechless then I said,

"You don't have to be worried about it, I have given up on you, Nami as well, you already know it right?"

"Yeah." He replied still in shock.

I heard Fumi's voice and I turn back,

Fumi was just standing there, did she saw what I did? I didn't mean to, she may be freaking out right now, she might break up with Kenji and blame me for it...

I approached her, "I-I'm sorry…"

She opened her mouth but I can't face it so I just ran away.

[Fumi's POV]

Did I misunderstand that, but I can't believe Nagi would do something like that, I have to calm down, but it was really a serious talk and it took for a while already, don't tell me Kenji and Nagi has been cheating on me? No that's impossible Kenji wouldn't do that and Nagi wouldn't fall in love with Kenji….

I took a deep breath and approached Kenji, "Kenji, please be honest with me?"

"Fu-Fumi it is not what it is like, please let us explain."

"Don't worry, I am not mad, I just want you to be honest with me." Slowly tears flow down my eyes.

"Fumi, if you want to know everything, I'll tell you, I won't lie, I'll be honest with you word for word."

Kenji grabbed my shoulders and hugged me tightly.

"Let's sleep on this, for now, let's talk when we are both calm and focused."

I skipped going to the bath together, I directly head straight to my bed and sleep, I can't still believe what happened on the sea wall, was it intentional, I hope it is not what I think it is...I don't know if I could handle it.
