7 The Lotus Seal

"Mr. Han, is this a marriage proposal?"

"Wei Ru don't think too much."Wei looked at the domineering man puzzled, why was he asking her about her qualifications as a wife if they weren't to be wedded.

"My grandfather has instructed me to marry you, a woman who I met only once who threw herself at me. So, I ask again, what qualifies you to be my wife." Wei stared at the angry man before and sighed grabbing her bag she stood up to leave.

"The first time I met you was an accident, the second time was a coincidence, Mr Han, I have no interest in you. If there is nothing else, I'll take my leave now." before she could finish, he sprung to his feet, his dominating figure standing before her.

"Wei Ru, don't test my patience, this marriage is not a choice, your father presented grandfather with the lotus seal."

"What?!" Wei asked, surprised, she had been told about the lotus seal by her mother before she died. Wei's grandparents had prevented Han Corporation from bankruptcy in a very turbulent time in the company's history. After which the company became very successful and powerful as it is today. Len Han tried to pay back the Jiang's but they refused to accept his money, thus the lotus seal was created as a symbol of friendship. It was said that if any member of the Jiang family had a need they would only need to present this and their wish would be granted. The seal was passed down to Lin Jiang (Wei's mother) after her parents died and to Wei after her mother died.

"The lotus seal? Mr. Han I never…"

"You ran into me twice, a week later your father presents the lotus seal. Are these mere coincidences."

"I knew nothing of this, I promise I will speak to my father."

"Ms. Ru please don't pretend, this marriage has been decided. You will have yourself a husband, but I warn you, nothing forcibly done will ever be agreeable."

"Mr. Han…"

"You may leave. "He sat at his desk fixed his eyes on his computer. Wei had no choice but to leave his office, she quickly made her way out of the building, her eyes burning from the tears she was holding back. How could her father sell her so easily, she had never been his favorite daughter that position was long held by Hoo, but she was still his daughter. How could he use her and the lotus seal for this purpose, a marriage to save the company, was the Ru corporation in such need. Once she stepped out of the suffocating building which seemed to be filled with the essence of that man Wei finally stopped took a deep breath and relaxed. She would talk to her father. They would find another way to save the Ru Corporation. Yes, she would get her father to rescind the lotus seal request, everything would be fine, she wouldn't have to marry that arrogant man. Her anger boiled again when she remembered the look of disgust in his eyes. No, she could never marry that man, she had to see her father and make sure of it.
