Murders investigated

The City of Erst looked like a completely different person compared to the last time Savine came here. A giant pillar of smoke rose up from the middle of the city, while flocks of birds circled above the city skies.

The biggest change was that most of the citizens were living outside the city. A giant camp of people flocked around just outside the city walls, their former life hounding them from the back. On the streets, people were sewing clothes, cutting wood, selling things, taking care of their children, taking care of their animals, their whole lives were occurring out in the open.

Maybe they would've preferred to have camped peacefully outside the city, taking a break from everything for a few days, but such things were a luxury few could afford. At some point, you'll have to start working again.
