First clash

Despite being beaten, the woman's stare was still unrelenting. There was no fear, nor regret in her eyes. Even if she was slapped all day, the fire in her was not going to die out. Instead, it was going to burn even brighter.

The brighter the flame in the commoners' hearts was, the longer it was going to take before they relented.

Murkato looked around. Methodically, two young nobles were rooting out the vegetables planted in the ground and smashing them. Two commoners were watching from the side, not screaming for help, not begging the nobles to stop, not even complaining to each other. Even when they saw the woman being slapped and bullied, they did not speak up.

At first they tried to, but a fierce glare from the woman herself stopped them from doing anything.

That really ticked the young nobles' prides. They were both ready to lash out at the commoners.

'They're way too hotheaded.'
