17 Chapter 17

The badminton season is already over, the final exam is around the corner many students are hurrying to their own teachers' tutorial time. Even Caius is bothered by it, he didn't try out for field hockey this year which could be seen as weird to others, while Adelaide is just relaxing here and there doesn't seem to care about the final exam.

Caius's schedules are mess up because of all the training he had to receive from the `devils`, this past few months are hellish enough to actually made him felt like dying all over again and again. He has to keep balance with all the study, sports, and their training at the same time. The only person who kept him going is Adelaide when he felt like giving up Adelaide smiling figure always showed up in his mind, reminding him that his reason for doing all this is to keep her safe and to be beside her all the time.

The end of this school year is near. Their departure to another country and transferring into a prestigious private academy in the UK is also arriving early than anticipated. Even though Caius and Adelaide are getting ready for their final exams and some preparations need to be taken care of before their departure.

At this moment Caius is training with one of Adelaide's cousins, one word can Caius describe it; HELL.

"Is that the best you can do?! You are not even worth standing beside my lil' one." – mocked JR while giving Caius one of his fists hitting him right in the center of his stomach, which Caius crouched down groaning in pain. After a fist, a roundhouse kick splats his head knocking Caius out. Total knock-out.

"Give him some slack, it's not like he was trained since his younger age. Give Caius some credit here, he just started a month ago." – said Bryan. Which JR scoffed loudly.

"Pfft, please. I would do a better a job at guarding our princess." – Jonathan

"Oh, c'mon guys. Caius is learning diligently while studying for the final exams. His body is just getting used to these tiresome and torturing training all of you giving him." – argued Adelaide once she entered the training room at the villa's basement.

Months passed, graduation and farewells happened, in the graduation ceremony it was revealed that Adelaide came from a noble military and wealthy family. Her friends felt hurt for a moment and a lot of graduated students were overwhelmed with confusion and bafflement, others whispered some nasty words about Adelaide but with her family and Caius' deathly glare they stopped. Adelaide confessed and explained everything to her best friends until it was time to say their farewells to each other.

After graduation, Adelaide decided to celebrate her birthday with the rest of her friends before leaving for the UK. The party was full of energetic bodies dancing or swimming in other words it's full of laughter and excitement without a hint of sadness at missing Adelaide and Caius. In the mind of her friends, it's not a farewell party but a birthday party that must be celebrated to the fullest because it will take long until the next time, they could get a party again.

The day has finally come when it's time for Adelaide and Caius to leave, Caius's whole family and friends send him off with tears and wishes for the better while Adelaide said her goodbyes to her friends that she made while staying in the Cerulean high school. Her cousins and grandfather were called because an important emergency meeting has been abruptly scheduled at noon sharp.

"Caius, be careful in the UK and don't believe anything you hear or see it could be a scam, also, lay low in the academy so you won't be offending anyone with that attitude of yours. Remember that I and your mother fully understand the reason you accepted the scholarship. We thought you've forgotten those memories, but it seems we were wrong you just buried them until you saw her again. Caius, no matter what happened out there, you must survive for you to continue to serve and protect Adelaide and survive and lived for us your parents. We loved you so much, son. Call us when the two of you arrived and had been settled in your dormitory. We want to see the academy and the uniform." – Caius's father looks at his precious son all grown up that it feels like it's only yesterday Caius was clinging to his feet begging to go out play with the other children outside. And now, when he looks at his son taller than him, he knows that it's time for the little hatchling to fly out of the nest he and his wife built.

"I will be careful with my attitude, and I will survive, do not worry for me too much and rest as much as the two of you can because I'll be sending money monthly. So, mom… dad… the two of you don't have to work anymore, you could travel around Canada relaxing or enjoying life without any worry. I'll call every other night if I can't then I must've been busy to call, so instead of a call, I'll text saying I'll be busy for now. You guys don't have to worry about anything, I won't get bully easily or scam." – Caius hugs both of his parents gently squeezing them as he inhales their scent marking it, so he can reminisce this moment in his memories every time he misses his family.

"I'll miss and love you both, mom and dad." – Caius murmured to their ears making his mother sobbed saddened that her only son is leaving so soon that she can't let him go because, in her eyes, Caius will always be the clingy son who wants to hug her mother every night before sleeping.

"Always follow your heart as it won't let you lose sight of the path you choose; I know that your heart is Adelaide, and I hope and wished that one day I'll see my son as a groom and Adelaide will become my daughter-in-law. I'll be waiting for the good news, my dear little bird. Protect each other and survive for Adelaide and us."

"I promised, mom. Just wait for the good news."

"I love you… now go or you two will be late for your flight. Adelaide, I entrust my son to you."
