CHAPTER 18

"No!" said Prince Aerus refusing. "Are you deaf? Or, are you stupid? I will not marry anyone, including you. I don't care if you will badmouth my wife or not. For me, marriage is only once in a lifetime, which I will never repeat with anyone. I only have one wife, and always will be."

Lia clenched her fists, her eyes filled with tears. Her heart screamed, 'Aerus, it's me! It's me, my husband! I wish I dared to admit it. I will do it. But I'm not ready to accept the consequences. What if you're disappointed in me? How if you hate me? I don't mean to leave you, or to abandon your love. I was just trapped by the situation.'

But Lia's lips were silent, unable to say anything.

"So you better get out," said Prince Aerus shooing away, pointing at the exit. "Your business is done."

"Why don't you think about my offer first? I can give you strength. I can take care of you." After looking deeply at Prince Aerus, Lia removed her veil, revealing her very beautiful and stunning face, which was always able to captivate Prince Aerus because it reminded him of his wife.

He trembled, clenching his fists. His heart was beating fast because suddenly all his nervous system was working, bringing him to the memories of their togetherness.

He remembered the first time he touch her, kissed her, hugged her, and laughed with her. He remembered the first time he felt nervous, the first time he blushed, and the first time he felt longing. Then he remembered how he could be grateful for the little things.

"I heard you're sick," whispered Lia, combing her husband's appearance. "That's one of the reasons why I came," she continued, walking closer, closing the distance between them. Her hair was shiny, her eyes were clear, her red lips looked supple and moist, and her hill looked puffed up, making Prince Aerus clench his fists. "I want to heal you, Aerus. I want you to forget the wounds in your heart and memories so that you can stay on your feet strong."

Prince Aerus was unmoved, unable to say or do anything, except just look at Lia, looking at her enchanting eyes, as she continued to approach.

"I will fill the void in your heart, Ae. I will make you happy. I will be a beacon when you are trapped in darkness, and I will be the mother of your children. I will keep you from getting sick forever. And we will live together and strengthen each other."

Lia began to look wistfully at Prince Aerus. Everything seemed to slow down, time and space, air and breath. Her lips trembled and now began to slightly part. Combing the entire face of Prince Aerus, she brought her lips closer, wanting to stick them with his.
