23 Chapter 23: Seatmates and Partners

Mr. Chacon: Okay next, Angie you will sit here and next to you will be....

As Mr. Chacon calls out Angie's name, Angie puts her head back up to see where her teacher was. Angie didn't mind where she would be sitting as she could see the board better, especially during the times Mr. Chacon decides to teach class using power points. Once Angie makes eye contact with Mr. Chacon signaled that she understands and knows where her new seat will be.Mr. Chacon then moves to the next seat. Not really caring about who her partner will be, Angie begins to put her head back down to her desk until she heard the words that came out of Mr. Chacon mouth...

Now on with the story...

As Angie was about to put her head back down to her desk,Mr. Chacon decides to call the name of the next person. The person who will also be Angie's seat mate. Nobody was expecting what was going to happen next. Well Angie surely was not expecting it.

Mr. Chacon: "Okay next person is Alec."

With her head looking down on her desk, Angie did not know what to do next. She couldn't bring herself to bring her head up as she was worried that her eyes would be in contact with someone she did not want to be in contact with. Along with Angie trying to ignore everyone's stares that she knew she was receiving. Angie finally decided to put her head up and made sure to ignore any stares that she received and continue to listen to her teacher talk. After about 5 minutes. Mr. Chacon finishes with the new seating arrangement and informs his class that they can all start to move to their new seats. Angie and the rest of her classmates gather their things and move to their seat. Once everyone was settled Mr. Chacon begins his lesson.

As the class follows along in their textbooks, Angie puts her head down and closes her eyes as she continues to listen to her teacher ramble on about history. Not long after did he finished, and the class was informed to work with their seatmates on certain pages of their book. As everyone began to converse with their seatmate Angie kept her head down as she continued to write the answer on a piece of paper. Not saying a single word to her partner, she continues to work alone. She knew full well that even if she were to try and start a conversation with Alec she would be completely ignored and humiliated as she knew that a certain fan girl of Alec was watching them both like a hawk as always. Angie was also worried that the big, huge bump on her forehead would be seen by everyone, and she surely did not want that. Angie continues to work on her own and once she finally finished, she puts her head down and rests as her headache continues.

Alec POV

Once I got to Mr. Chacon and sat at my seat the bell rings signaling the start of fifth period with that I was only one class period away from being able to go home. As I look at the board and write, Mr. Chacon calls the class to get our attention as he had some announcement to make. I continue to write as he talks about what will happen this period—which is getting our new seats which will be our seats for the rest of the school year. I honestly hoped that he would hurry up but of course knowing my history teacher, he continues to talk about other things. Once he is ready, he goes to the seats and announces who will be sitting there. I of course continue to just write in my history notebook.

As Mr. Chacon continues to assign students to their new seats he then moves to the other half of the class right around my current seat and he then goes to the very corner seat close to the PowerPoint projector screen and says the new girl's name—Angie. Mr. Chacon moves to the next seat....

Mr. Chacon: "Okay next, Angie you will sit here and next to you will be... "

"Okay, the next person is Alec."

Once I heard what Mr. Chacon said I stopped what I was doing and stared down at my desk. "Why of all people have to be her. I swear this is going to be a long rest of the year. Ever since I met Angie, she has been nothing but trouble. "I honestly feel like Chacon is just here to ruin the rest of the school year" I thought.

Once Mr. Chacon finished with his seat arrangements, we all got up and sat at our new seats. I was the first one to arrive at my desk and after a few minutes I saw that my new seatmate was making her way to her seat. As soon as she got to her seat, I saw her put her head down on her desk and saw that she sat on the very corner of her seat. Trying my best to ignore her, I tried to listen to Mr. Chacon lessons, but as always, his lessons are super boring and so I lose interest. Once he finished teaching the lesson, he informs the class that he wants us to work with our seatmates. Completely just ignoring Mr. Chacon's instructions I turned around and faced my friend Carlo.

After about 20 minutes I heard Mr. Chacon says that everyone should be finishing and getting ready to submit their assignments and if we are not done it, it is homework. For me I didn't really care and as I was not going to submit anything anyway. I turned back to my desk so that I could get my things ready so that I could leave class. The bell rings and I get up to see that Angie has fallen asleep, I was going to wake her up but decided not to and just leave her there since I know her friends will take care of her. Honestly, this girl is something else, falling asleep during class and still having the top grades. "What a total nerd " I thought and left with Carlo out the door.
