1 Fragments

A man looked in disbelief at the tip of the sword which had pierced his chest, dripping with blood.

With much difficulty he looked behind and saw a man holding the sword hilt with tears in his eyes.

The man began to feel dizzy, strength began to leave his body. He saw darkness around him coming from everywhere which soon enveloped his entire vision.

His breathing stopped and his eyes lost their luster. His body fell to the ground followed by someone's crying.

A man was anxiously pacing back and forth outside a room. Inside the room a pained voice of a woman sounded. After some time the cry of a baby was heard.

An eldely woman came out congratulating the man and informing him that both the mother and child are safe.

Soon the man walked into the room. He saw a woman lying on a bed. She smiled looking at him and said something weakly.

Even though the man couldn't hear her properly, he knew what she said.

"You are a father now."

The man picked up the baby. He found that his son's eyes were golden in colour, just like his mom. His hair were white just like him. They decided to name the boy- Nicholas.

Ethan and Hannah found that their son Nicholas is a bit different from others. He was able to both walk and speak early. He dosen't cry much and is very mischievous.

Nicholas' father is a farmer and his mother is housewife and she takes care of the animals they are raising while Ethan works in the fields. Ethan leaves early and comes back in the evening. As the fields are near their house he often comes home noon to eat lunch.

They live in Silverfield village. Most of the people here are farmers who sell their crops to the nearest town to make their living. The enviroment in the village mostly remains peaceful.

Time continued to pass. Nicholas was now six years old. He spends most of his with his friends and in sword training with his father.

His father would sometimes take him to take a look at the fields but he never allows him to work there. He is the only child of his parents and they dote on him very much, especially his mother. Whenever he gets yelled at by his father she would always come out to his rescue. Her glare turns the fierce Ethan into a little kitten everytime, which amuses Nicholas a lot.

Hannah is gentle in nature but whenever something involves Nicholas she becomes serious.

She actually lived in Whitebell town with her family. One day Ethan, who was an adventurer at that time and was looking for the adventurers' association saw Hannah in the town. It was love at first sight.

He asked for the directions and when Hannah saw him, she also fell for him. As time passed their relationship progressed.

Hannah wanted to live a normal life in a village. She didn't liked the town. But Ethan was an adventurer. He won't be able to stay with her for long because he had to do quests.

Some time passed and their relationship progressed. One day Ethan, who was living in Hannah's house with her family got ready.

Today he was going to Hannah to propose her and ask for marriage.

He had also decided to quit being an adventurer after much thought, to live a happy life with her.

But the moment he opened the door he saw Hannah. She got on one knee and took out a box which had a ring inside.

"Will you marry me?"

Ethan cherished that moment very much. After their marriage, with the money he got from adventuring and the money Hannah collected, they settled in the nearest village of the town.

There aren't any monsters in this region and people here are kind. He bought a field near the house and some animals and beacame a farmer. As Ethan was of Warrior class, he didn't find much difficulty in farming.

One day Nicholas was going to the fields to call Ethan for lunch. He was currently seven years old. On the way he greeted every person he knew happily. Soon he reached the fields and saw his father. He called to him and waved his hands.

Upon seeing Nicholas, Ethan got up and with a smile he also waved at him. While Nicholas was waiting for his father, he suddenly felt dizzy. He clutched his head, feeling immense pain and fell unconscious. The last thing he saw was his father running towards while shouting something but he wasen't able to understand it.

Nicholas found himself in a large palace. Bodies of different shapes were everywhere. But Nicholas didn't seem to notice them.

He was looking at a man with white hair who got his chest pierced by someone from behind. The man looked behind with much difficulty.

Nicholas got shocked seeing the man. The man had golden eyes and white hair. His facial expressions were exactly the same as him except that the man seemed to be much older.

Seeing the man getting pierced, Nicholas was somehow able to feel his pain. At that moment when the man fell down everything around him turned dark.

Nicholas woke up, his heart beating madly. He looked around and found that he is currently in his room. He saw his mother sleeping near him. It was currently night outside.

Soon his heart beat turned to normal. The door opened and his father walked in. Seeing Nicholas awake, he became happy and hugged him tightly. His woke Hannah up. Seeing Nicholas she burst into tears and hugged him.

Nicholas wanted to explain the thing he saw but when he tried to, he forget what he wanted to say.

The next day Nicolas experienced one of the most horrible moments in his life.

This is due to the dish and salad in front of him.

There were a lot vegetables that he dosen't like. The first time he tried to eat them he felt nauseous. From that moment on he never eat those. His doting mother also not forced him to eat them saying that there are many vegetables.

So what if he don't eat some? This was her reply to Ethan who was furious at Nicholas for eating properly.

But even though Ethan opposed to this, he never forced Nicholas, in fear of Hannah.

But today everything changed. His mother was looking at him and giving him the same glare which only his father have been receiving all this time. Nicholas felt a lot of pressure under that glare.

Thinking that him falling unconscious was due to not eating food properly, she want him to eat them so nothing like that happens to him again.

Nicholas made a pitiful look to escape the situation. But the glare remianed unchanging. Seeing that his attack had failed, he changed the target.

Ethan who was looking at his son, was trying hard to contain his laughter. At that time seeing Nicholas' pitiful face he immediately raised his defenses but they proved to be futile.

Falling under the attack, Ethan tried to help his son. With a serious face he tried to tell Hannah to be easy on their son but the moment she glared at him his serious face was blown away replaced with a silly smile.

In the end Nicholas' ally couldn't help him. He could only admit a crushing defeat.
