15 Spatial Magic

Elliot hurried downstairs to chase after Francoise. All this time, men as strong as Francoise and Midnight was near him.

Adventurers' levels would stop and Level 90. Without a what's called as 'Breakthrough', an Adventurer could not reach Level 91. That was why Level 100 Adventurers were sought after by major guilds.

In fact, a level 91 Adventurer can start his own guild, and many would come and join.

A breakthrough can only be achieved through training and a promotion. Only a few knows how to do it and those who had reached it were unable to say how they got it.

But one thing was for sure.

An Adventurer who had reached Breakthrough is powerful.

"Gramps!" Elliot yelled. "Why didn't you mention that you're a Level 100?"

Francoise's forehead wrinkled, "Ah. Well, I don't see the need to tell you."

"And why not?" Elliot was in front of the old man, his lips pursing as he waited for an answer.

Francoise sighed and rolled his eyes, "Because this would happen."

Elliot looked at the front door, "And Midnight?"

"The strongest shapeshifter I know."

"Frederick?"

"The strongest fire caster I know."

"And Sun?!"

Francoise smacked Elliot's head. "He hasn't even gone through the Breakthrough. What are you talking about?"

"Oh." Elliot lifted his head and grinned at Francoise. "Teach me!"

"No," Francoise coldly said. He went inside his studio where Elliot was following him. "Here's the body of the Crimson Phantom. He's a little charred but– what are you doing?"

Elliot lifted the corpse and placed it over his shoulder. "I'm gonna bring it home."

There were nerves pulsating on Francoise's forehead and temple. Being with Elliot was like taking care of 10 pairs of 7-year old Midnight and Sun.

"Oh wait," Elliot said and remembered he had the Inventory feature unlocked.

He opened the Inventory and placed the corpse inside. The corpse lit up with a yellow-orange color and got inside Elliot's Weapon Gem.

'Corpse of << Crimson Phantom >> in inventory."

Francoise's eyes widened. "Y-You can use Spatial Magic?!"

Elliot's world stopped. He forgot that the old man was watching him. He smiled awkwardly and pursed his lips.

"E-Eh, yeah?" Elliot said and gave Francoise and awkward smile. "B-But that's the only thing I can–"

"Do you know how rare Spatial Magicians are?!"

Elliot nodded. He knew a lot about Adventurers since he studied them for as long as he can remember. Form the first Parade his mother brought him to, up to now.

It was only then that it dawned him how lucky he was.

"Holy cow," he said as Francoise laughed. "I-I'm awesome!"

Spatial Magic users were sought after guilds who frequently go on what's called 'Campaigns'. Campaigns are long term raids, usually going after another dungeon of another country.

Since Campaigns takes a lot of time, usually months, Spatial Magic would be a great addition to the campaigners. The magic would lessen their baggage, therefore conserving more of their energy in battling monsters.

"I'll go home now, Gramps," Elliot said before Francoise could say anything.

That boy, seriously. The old man could only shake his head and grin.

After leveling up a couple of times, Elliot's body felt light as a feather. He could dash and come home in a quarter of time it would take him before he leveled up.

He grabbed the book from under his bed and searched for the recipe of the Crimson Phantom Essence. He already brought a farmer's robe from a farmer before he got home.

Now for the recipe. He thought and scanned the pages.

<< Crimson Phantom Essence >>

Recipe:

Crimson Phantom Eyes X2

Flask of Water X1

"That's it?"

Elliot hurried and prepared the needed recipe. He summoned the corpse in his backyard to not stain his hardwood floors. The Crimson Phantom had an unpleasant smell on it and it would reek his house.

The Crimson Phantom was burned to crisp. It would only make sense since Francoise was at the peak of the Adventurers. An attack from him would obliterate a beast half his level. Just like what happened to this guy.

"Poor thing," Elliot said and started his move.

He removed the eyeball with his sword. There was a sticky sound that made him thought of a heavily viscous porridge. The sight was gore. The charred body was getting into Elliot's nerves.

Maybe because the Crimson Phantom had similar features to humans. The monsters he dissected before were animal-type, therefore it wasn't too disgusting. But now that the beast had a face that resembles a human, it was repulsive.

After removing the eyeballs, Elliot used Scan for any valuables left.

<< Crimson Phantom Pendant >>

// A charm used by Crimson Phantoms. When worn, the user shall gain 150% boost in stats if the pendant detects fear from its victims.

Just as he thought. The phantom's weapons had a Potential of 6. A Potential of 1 would only give a 50% boost, Potential of 2-3 would give 100%, and the increments would add 50% up to the Potential of 10. That is how strong Adventurers only gets stronger.

Elliot snatched the pendant from the carcass and buried the rest in the fields nearby, making sure to pray for its safe journey in the afterlife. He put the pendant in his inventory where a two words made him grin.

<< Crimson Phantom Pendant >> (Enhancement Possible)

Based on his experience, 'Possible' meant that he can tweak the item but lacks level or materials. Meanwhile, 'Available' meant that he met the level requirements and has all the necessary materials to craft.

He shook his head as to stop him from getting carried away. He still had to Forge the Crimson Phantom Cloak.

Crafting the Essence, he went inside his home and forged the last set piece he needed. Set equipment, when completed, brings Christmas early to Adventurers. Bonuses and boosts would rain on them if they were lucky.

As the crimson colored robe sat on his table, Elliot could smell victory.

His hand was about to touch the cloak when a jolt of electricity fired from the item. He quickly retracted his hand, remembering how painful it was to touch a weapon above your Level Tier.

'Level requirements do not meet.'
