Departure

It was a cool and crisp morning.

Lai Yiteng found that Waddles was sluggish when it was cold. He also felt sluggish, as though something was tugging at his mind, dragging his awareness down and making him sleepy. It was a very reptilian trait, he knew that much. 

Today was when they left for the bi-annual Martial Arts Conference.

Somehow Xian Wu managed to wake him up in the morning, and Lai Yiteng stared out at an outfit that had been brought in without his notice.

A long dress with layers of white and jade green was hung over a wooden stand, in full display. It had an outer layer of translucent fabric with the sheen of a dragonfly's wings, and the collar was tall, enough to cover all the scales that had appeared on his lower neck. In short, it was a beautiful piece of clothing.
