Chapter 25 - The Mysterious Exercise of The Hale Family (3)

When arriving at the artificial realm, Nathan felt slight weightlessness. It was a regular occurrence after passing through the space gate, so he did not think much.

He turned to look at Theodore and the two floating armaments.

The two weapons, the Impending Doom and the Misty Blade, were fine and were flying vigorously. However, Theodore's body trembled a lot, as if he felt uncomfortable and was about to fall.

Nathan hurriedly went to help by holding his disciple to stand steadily and circulate his mana into Theodore's body to make him feel better.

It took a short while before Theodore's condition improved.

When Nathan sensed Theodore was alright and could stand alone, he stopped injecting mana and slowly freed his hand from his disciple. He kindly asked, "Are you alright? How do you feel?"

Theodore slowly adjusted his breath after he felt better.

He recalled his feeling when he just went through the space gate. It was as if someone had thrown him into the air and spun him around several times before leaving him on unfamiliar ground.

'It was one uncomfortable feeling,' Theodore thought.

He remembered not feeling this much discomfort in his previous life. He considered and signed shortly afterward, 'It must be because I am still too weak.'

Theodore shook his head to recollect himself from his daze before responding to Nathan with a forced smile, "Teacher, I'm fine."

The Impending Doom Scythe and The Misty Blade also flew to Theodore's side. They nudged him lightly with their snatch and grip to cheer him up.

"I'm really alright. Don't worry." Theodore helplessly smiled as he softly consoled the two spiritual weapons.

Seeing that Theodore was fine as he reassured the two armaments, Nathan shifted his gaze to analyze the current's environment in the artificial realm.

Nathan circulated his mana to his eyes as he looked around.

He saw a long narrow hallway wide enough for a few people to walk together. On the two sides of the wall, there were ancient but unbroken sconce liting fire along the way. The atmosphere gave off a solemn and sacred feeling.

Nathan then glanced at the smooth, clean floor of rare stone conducive to mana. What made him cautious was beneath it, there was a powerful formation.

The function of the formation was simple; it would explode and destroy everything once specific conditions triggered it. Nathan estimated that it could injure or even kill a high-ranking mana user when unprepared.

He then closed his eyes to analyze the prerequisite for activating the formation.

He soon found the answer. 'It seems the purpose of the formation was to restrict certain areas at the end of this hallway.'

With this analysis, he concluded that walking along this hallway was safe as long as the explorer did not seek dead and demolish this place.

"The hallway is safe; Shall we continue?" Nathan gently questioned Theodore and the two armaments.

The two weapons immediately buzzed exaggeratedly and swung themselves to show they were more than ready.

Theodore also nodded heavily to show his agreement. He then walked along the gloomy path with his teacher and the two armaments.

...

'The hallway was indeed safe as expected.' Nathan thought as he reached its end. The path they walked led them to a large, lofty chamber shaped like a hemisphere; the room also connected to seven other areas aside from the way they took.

The link path spread around the circular room according to the eight cardinal directions, but Nathan could not see further what existed beyond these paths.

Nathan then glanced around.

The room was bright as if it was the most radiant daytime, contrasting the dimming route. Surrounding the area was a large mana shield that could block the attack and restrict access from the outside.

There were tiles made of a similar material to the hallway, but the stone's quality here was much more excellent and immaculate. The overall layout of the floor resembled a complicated circular chess with a towering platform in the middle.

There was a circular staircase encircled the platform leading to the top. Located at its center was a giant altar that held a monument.

'It does look grand,' Nathan secretly commented before analyzing the place. 'This place seemed like an inheritance place; however, getting the heritage will not be easy...'

He then used his mana to increase his sense to investigate the surroundings further before he paused, staring at the protective shield.

After some consideration, Nathan lightly raised his hand to touch the shield gently. Immediately afterward, a spark flashed at the place of contact before a force pushed his hand out.

Although the touching time was short, he got the information he wanted.

The mana flowing in the protective shield contained the law of blood; only the descendant containing the Hale family's blood could pass through it. If other people intended to force their way in, the formation would explode, killing everyone.

When Nathan analyzed the formation, Theodore and the two spiritual weapons were waiting quietly, afraid of disturbing him.

Theodore also came and stopped at this step in his previous life. He could pass through the shield but could not continue because he did not know about formation.

There was a specific path for walking from the outermost part to the center platform in the middle. Theodore tried to walk in randomly, and the result was that he almost died from significant injuries.

'I was really too reckless at that time.' Theodore once again lamented at his luck.

...

Nathan soon finished with his analysis. He turned to look at Theodore and explained his finding.

When Nathan finished, he summarized, "Only the descendant of the Hale family can enter the formation; however, there might be dangers along the way. Do you want to continue?"

"Teacher, I still want to try." Theodore firmly replied. However, in his heart, he mourned again as he told himself not to act recklessly, but in minutes he decided to risk himself again.

Still, he did not intend to give up. Although he did not know how much this mysterious exercise could boost him, he was unwilling to give up a chance to improve himself that was right in front of him.

More than anything else, he was willing to try in the past when there was no one to rely on; how could he hesitate when now he had his teacher with him?

Even if he failed, he believed he could leave alive.

Nathan was not surprised by his disciple's answer; Theodore had always been decisive. He led Theodore to a place near the formation.

He glanced at the firmness in Theodore's eye before he expressed, "In that case, let's get started."

I really did not intent on dragging the story, but there was really a lot to be described. Still I felt like my writing improved? In the past I struggled writting 800 words, now it was 1000+ for all chapters. I still struggle to get pass 1500 through. In any case, thank you very much for reading.
