10 So Troublesome

Now that she was close to fifty years old, she probably wasn't going to get married again. It's not suitable for her to bear a child at this age as well. Not to mention the fact that she was used to living alone, so she simply continued to be Lu Junhan's dad and mum. She did what any concerned parent would do–urge him to get married every once in a while.

Lu Junhan's expression didn't change at all. He threw the topic back at her, telling her, "Then go and adopt one from the orphanage. You can have any type of grandson you want. You can switch to another one when you're bored with the old one. Isn't that better?"

"…"

"Anything else you'd like to tell me?" Lu Junhan looked at the time and said, "If there's nothing else, I have to go."

Song Qingwan felt that one of these days, she's going to die because of how sharp his tongue was. Her voice grew audibly furious, "Do you think I really wouldn't dare to adopt a child for you from the orphanage?!"

Song Qingwan naturally knew how much he hated children. So, when she said that she was going to adopt a child, it was just to annoy him more than anything else.

Lu Junhan raised his eyebrow and said, "Do as you like, as long as you're happy, and IF you don't mind that he's not from the Lu Family."

"…"

The ideal grandchild for Song Qingwan was the one with the Lu Family's bloodline. Unfortunately, this was impossible with a grandchild from the orphanage.

If she really did adopt one.

She'd be plagued with worries that the kid would be scheming against her in an attempt to obtain the Lu Family's wealth. Also, IF Lu Junhan did get a grandson later on, how should both of them interact with each other?

She felt troubled just by thinking about it.

In the end, she was so furious that she hung up a call.

While Lu Li's figure had disappeared, she didn't really leave the mansion per se.

She secretly hid behind the stone lion at the mansion's entrance. The stone lion was huge, meaning no one could find her as long as she hid behind it.

Lu Li rubbed her chin as she assessed what had just happened just now. She was incredibly positive in spite of how cold her daddy's reaction was.

What if his daddy regretted his decision and wanted her back?

So, she felt it would be wise to linger around the mansion's vicinity.

Of course, Lu Li didn't expect that her assessment would be spot-on. Lu Junhan really did somewhat regret his actions.

She had been rather busy the entire day. Swimming in the water for too long took its toll on her body. Lu Li was exhausted. She remained hidden behind the stone lion, where she fell asleep.

After a while, Song Qingwan stepped down from her car.

She was wearing a long black dress that reached the floor. Her hair was neatly tied up. There was not a single wrinkle on her face that showed her age. Instead, she looked elegant and dignified.

She radiated the aura of a strong, independent woman. Her black high heels clicked loudly as she walked.

The bodyguard next to her was quite perceptive. He turned to her and said, "Ms. Song, there seems to be a child over there."

"A child?" She frowned and asked, "Where?"

This was where the Lu Family was going to hold their banquet. She wasn't going to let it be ruined by some unruly outsider.

"Behind the stone lion."

Song Qingwan marched over with a frown on her face.

Oh my, there really was a child.

And it was a very beautiful little girl.

She wore a light green dress. Song Qingwan could tell how delicate and well-made it was by a mere glance.

Her body was huddled inwards as if she was trying to keep herself warm from the cold breeze. Her little mouth was opened slightly as she breathed. Her dark eyelashes trembled slightly as she dreamed away.

And the parts of her skin which were not covered by her dress was as white as snow.

She was like a little angel that accidentally fell into the mortal world.

And that face… it looked quite familiar.

Song Qingwan squinted her eyes.

Where had she seen this girl before…

"So cute…"

Her personal assistant said, unable to hold back anymore. "Whose child is this? Why would she be all the way out here?"

"Maybe she's the playful type of kid. Perhaps she ran out here without paying much attention," said the bodyguard.

Song Qingwan couldn't remember where she had seen that face before. When she saw that it was a finicky and delicate little girl, there was not a single hint of warmth on her face.

She disliked children that cry the most.

When she was young, she liked Lu Junhan the most. Being a boy, he wouldn't cry no matter how much he was punished. He was smart and imposing and for the most part, resembled her, personality-wise.

Unlike Lu Anran. That girl. She would cry for an entire day even if she simply frowned her way.

How troublesome.

A look of disgust made it clear how she felt towards little girls. She issued an order coldly, "Go and ask whose child it is, and quickly take her away!"

Her personal assistant knew that she hated little girls like this one. His answer came quickly. "Right, understood!"

Maybe it was because of the commotion they had stirred up, the little girl's eyelashes fluttered as she slowly woke up.

Song Qingwan was a strong independent woman when she was younger. Her imposing demeanor only seemed to grow stronger the older she got. The air around her was made colder by the black dress she was wearing.

With the two bodyguards wearing black following behind her, her presence was quite daunting.
