The butler asked him, "Should I send her to the gate?"

"Up to you," Lu Junhan didn't want to waste any more time. "The banquet's about to begin. Don't let me see her one more time."

With that, he mercilessly yanked Lu Li's hand off his sleeve and walked away without looking back.

The small hand was very tender. It felt like a delicate piece of tofu as if he could break them apart if he applied enough force. He didn't notice that he acted much more gently with her, perhaps in an attempt to prevent hurting her. 

When Lu Li saw what her daddy did to her, her eyes instantly became wet as tears poured out from her eyes. Her already dirty face became more like that of a poor little kitten's.

Lu Junhan stopped in his tracks, but he still didn't turn around. A moment later, he continued walking, leaving behind Lu Li who was looking at him eagerly.

Suddenly, a small hand tugged at his sleeves. He wasn't sure when the little girl had walked over to him. She said to the butler softly, "I climbed over the wall myself. The big brothers and big sisters didn't have anything to do with this. Please don't blame them, okay? If you're angry, hit me, I can take the pain."

The little girl's eyes were red, and they were still wet with tears. She sniffed, and her big eyes became watery again. Her eyelashes were wet from all the crying. They fluttered as she blinked. The girl was so cute that it almost made them melt away.
