Elan Starwind, born in a secluded village deep within an ancient forest, leads a life far removed from the world of technology he once knew. In his previous life, Elan was Ethan, a brilliant scientist who, along with his wife Riyan, created a groundbreaking AI. Their triumph turned tragic when a catastrophic explosion ended their lives, only for Ethan to awaken as an infant in this new, cultivation world. From an early age, Elan realizes he is different. Embedded within his consciousness is Arion, the sentient AI he and wife created from his past life. Despite the village's isolation and its people's ignorance of cultivation and technology, Elan begins to harness his unique abilities. Using the Arion's vast knowledge, he identifies natural resources, creates smelting furnaces, and crafts advance tools. With patience and ingenuity, Elan forges metal, makes glass, and even generates electricity, gradually constructing sophisticated devices that blend the primitive and the futuristic. Elan's innovations transform his village, bringing new prosperity and security. ----- Hey everyone, just a quick update! I'll be posting one chapter from Monday to Friday. I'm still new to writing cultivation stories, so please go easy on me. I really appreciate all the support and feedback you've given me so far. It means a lot and helps me improve. Let's continue this journey together!
In the heart of Lumina Falls, where the Lord Mayor resided, the grand municipal building stood as a symbol of authority and governance. The building was an architectural marvel, with its towering spires and intricate carvings depicting the history of the town. Inside, the main hall was a bustling hub of activity, filled with advisors, guards, and clerks going about their duties. The Lord Mayor's residence within this complex was equally impressive, a testament to the town's prosperity and importance.
In the opulent living quarters of the Lord Mayor, a heated discussion could be heard echoing through the marble corridors. The room itself was adorned with rich tapestries and elegant furniture, reflecting the town's wealth. The atmosphere was tense, and the air was thick with the weight of recent events.
Councilor Cedric Stormrider stood with a fiery demeanor, his voice rising above the others. "Lord Mayor! What are we waiting for? Now is our chance to attack the Shadowfang Clan while they are down!" he shouted, slamming his fist on the table. "The Shadowfang Clan's aggression is a clear indication of their intent to dominate Lumina Falls. We must act now before it's too late."
The Lord Mayor, a stout and pragmatic woman named Ilani Nightingale, remained calm despite the intensity of the discussion. She was known for her wisdom and steady leadership. "Councilor Stormrider, we must approach this situation with caution. Have you forgotten that the Bloodmoon Sect is under their influence, and Lucian is a disciple of a Major Sect in the city? I have also heard some news regarding Lucian from my trusted source."
The councilors were confused. What could the Lord Mayor mean by this news? They hadn't heard anything about Lucian. They thought it might not be important since they had heard nothing themselves. If it were important, surely they would have known about it by now.
"News? What do you mean, Lord Mayor? Is it good news for us or bad news?" Councilor Lyra Fairwind asked.
"I heard from my trusted source that Lucian is on the verge of becoming a personal disciple of an Elder," Lord Mayor Ilani Nightingale explained.
Upon hearing what the Lord Mayor said, the councilors fell silent, contemplating the implications. They trusted the Lord Mayor's source, which meant there was a high chance this news was true. If it was, it would be bad news for them.
"Lord Mayor, what should we do about this? If Lucian indeed becomes a personal disciple, the Shadowfang Clan will become even more powerful in our town. There will be no one to stop them," Councilor Eldric Ravenshade said in a worried tone.
"It's not that bad. Lucian won't be able to ask his master for help if he becomes a personal disciple, because their sect has rules against intervening unless someone provokes the Shadowfang Clan first. As long as we don't do anything to antagonize the Shadowfang Clan, we should be fine. The only downside is that the Shadowfang Clan will gradually grow more powerful because Lucian will be able to provide them with more resources from his sect," the Lord Mayor explained.
The room fell into a contemplative silence once again as the councilors absorbed this information. They realized that while Lucian's potential rise could pose a significant threat, it also came with limitations that could be managed with careful diplomacy.
The Lord Mayor continued, "For now, we need to reassure the townspeople that there is no need to worry. Let them know that we are taking every measure to ensure their safety and that we will maintain peace and stability in Lumina Falls. We must prevent panic and keep everyone calm."
Councilor Lyra Fairwind nodded, adding, "We need to convey that we are aware of the situation and have plans in place. It's important for the people to feel secure and trust in our leadership during these uncertain times."
The other councilors sighed and nodded in agreement with Lord Mayor Ilani's words. They knew there was little they could do but pray for a miracle to occur before the Shadowfang Clan grew too powerful. If that happened, they were certain that they would all become subordinates to the Shadowfang Clan, losing their autonomy and freedom.

In one of the most popular taverns at Lumina Falls, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and apprehension. The Wooden Chalice, known for its hearty ale and lively conversations, had become the epicenter of gossip. The tavern was filled with townsfolk, all eager to discuss the recent events that had shaken their town to its core.
At a corner table, a group of men and women huddled together, their voices low but intense. "Did you hear about the near destruction of the Silverleaf Consortium?" one man said, shaking his head in disbelief. The others nodded solemnly, the weight of the news pressing down on them.
"It's a tragedy," an elderly woman murmured. "So many lives lost, and for what? The Shadowfang Clan's lust for power?"
A burly man, his face lined with concern, added, "The Shadowfang Clan went too far this time. They have no regard for anyone but themselves."
"Yeah, they did it because they wanted to take an artifact that the Faction Leader had," another man said. "But in the end, they didn't get the artifact. Instead, they lost many of their clansmen. It's like they were cursed."
"They're paying the price for their greed. The Shadowfang Clan thought they could just take what they wanted without consequences, but they were wrong."
Another patron, trying to calm the tension, whispered urgently, "Keep your voice down! If a Shadowfang member hears you, you might get cut down and ground to powder."
The man who had been speaking quickly looked around, his face going pale with fear at the thought of a Shadowfang clan member overhearing him. Fortunately, there was no one from the Shadowfang Clan in sight, but the fear of their presence lingered.
The whispering patron continued, "The Shadowfang Clan is ruthless. You never know who might be listening. It's better to keep these conversations quiet."
The man nodded, his heart pounding as he took a deep breath to calm himself. The danger of openly criticizing the Shadowfang Clan was very real, and the last thing he wanted was to draw their ire.

Inside The Veil
The group had been traveling for hours, the oppressive mist of The Veil pressing in on them from all sides. Since entering The Veil, they had done nothing but run. They hadn't seen any light, not even the faintest glimmer. Everywhere they looked, there was only a dark mist. Sometimes, they heard voices laughing, felt eyes watching them, and sensed something following them closely.
After hours of running, Elysia and Ryn finally complained that they needed to rest. "We can't go on any longer," Elysia said, her voice weary. "Our feet are killing us."
Aeliana looked at her companions and saw the exhaustion etched on their faces. Even Thorne, who hadn't complained, was clearly struggling. His legs were shaking from fatigue, just like the others.
Aeliana nodded in agreement. "Let's rest here for a while," she said. They sat in silence, staying vigilant despite their need to rest, knowing that an attack could come at any moment.
As they tried to catch their breath, a dark spirit appeared out of nowhere, startling the group. Thorne, despite being startled, was quick to recover and slashed at the dark spirit. Elysia and Ryn followed his lead, attacking with their weapons. But their strikes passed through the spirit without any effect. They quickly retreated to put some distance between themselves and the spirit.
"Oh no! The rumors are actually true. There are restless spirits here in The Veil," Elysia exclaimed, fear evident in her voice.
"Big sister, what should we do?" Ryn asked, her voice trembling.
Aeliana's mind raced as she tried to think of a solution. She remembered the Darkheart and its power to absorb dark energy. Maybe it could absorb the dark spirit as well. Quickly, she pulled the Darkheart from her storage ring and stretched out her hand towards the dark spirit, channeling the artifact's power.
The group watched in awe as the Darkheart began to slowly absorb the dark spirit. The spirit howled and twisted, its form gradually being drawn into the artifact. Relief washed over them as they saw the spirit being fully absorbed by the Darkheart until nothing was left.
"It worked," Aeliana said, her voice filled with relief. "The Darkheart absorbed the spirit."
The group let out a collective sigh of relief, grateful that Aeliana's plan had worked. Now that they knew the Darkheart could absorb dark spirits, maybe they could more easily navigate the treacherous landscape of The Veil. The possibility gave them a renewed sense of hope and determination. They hoped that the dark spirits would be the only creatures they would encounter and that they wouldn't have to face any other unknown horrors lurking in the mist.
------
Meanwhile, another group was not as fortunate as Aeliana's group. Deep within The Veil, Darius and his companions faced relentless attacks from dark spirits. As soon as they entered The Veil, they were immediately plagued by a fierce, dark spirit. Terrified by the malevolent force, they scattered in all directions, and in the chaos, five of their members were separated from the group.
The group, now smaller and more vulnerable, heard the chilling screams of the five who had been separated. One by one, the screams echoed through the mist, each cry cutting through the darkness and sending shivers down their spines. Even Darius, usually so confident and cruel, looked pale with fear. The terror of the situation drove them to run even faster, desperate to escape the dark spirit.
Finally, Darius shouted, "Stop! Maybe we've lost it!" The eight remaining members of his group halted, panting heavily and looking around frantically for any sign of the dark spirit. Seeing nothing, they collectively heaved a sigh of relief, grateful for a moment of respite. They took deep breaths, trying to recover from their frantic escape.
Just as they began to relax, the dark spirit suddenly appeared in front of Darius. Startled and panicked, he grabbed the nearest disciple and threw him towards the spirit, using him as a human shield. Without a second thought, Darius turned and ran, abandoning the disciple to his fate.
The disciple, now face-to-face with the dark spirit, was filled with rage. "Fuck you, Darius!" he shouted, cursing Darius with every foul word he knew. His curses were so intense and creative that they would have made even a ghost blush. The overwhelming fury in his voice echoed through the mist, a testament to his betrayal and the hopelessness of their situation.
The rest of the group watched in horror as the disciple was left to fend for himself. Their fear and anger towards Darius grew, realizing that they were merely tools to be sacrificed for his survival. The reality of their situation set in deeply, and they knew they were at the mercy of both the dark spirits and Darius's ruthless self-preservation.
In a silent agreement, the group exchanged determined looks. They quickly made a decisive decision and scattered in different directions, leaving Darius alone to fend off the dark spirits by himself. They would rather face the spirits alone and die trying than be used as shields for Darius.
Seeing the others abandon him, Darius's face contorted with rage. "Cowards!" he bellowed, his voice echoing through the mist. His anger burned brightly, and for a moment, he considered chasing them down and killing them one by one for their betrayal. However, the sudden reappearance of the dark spirits made him think twice. Realizing the immediate threat, he chose self-preservation over revenge and sprinted in a different direction from the others.
As he ran, Darius cursed the other disciples with every foul word he knew, his voice filled with venom. "Traitors! I'll see you all dead!" he screamed, his curses echoing through the darkness. Instead of making the spirits blush, his furious outbursts seemed to anger them further. The dark spirits, drawn by his rage and the malevolent energy he exuded, chose to follow Darius instead of the other disciples.
Seeing that all the dark spirits that had been chasing the other disciples were now converging on him, Darius cursed again, his voice a mix of rage and desperation. "Damn you all to the darkest pits of hell! Assholes!" he yelled as he ran desperately.
