21 Planning for a Kill

Kaian's face was still uncertain. He did not know how to react as he looked at Eman, who was still arguing with Mikael.

'Wait a minute... he doesn't know that a normal physical attack doesn't work on slimes? I thought that something was special with that arrow he launched!'

Kaian let out a sigh as he took the initiative to settle the two party members arguing with each other.

"Eman, should you know that a normal physical attack doesn't work on slime?"

Hearing that, Eman suddenly stopped and faced Kaian with a confused expression.

"What do you mean it doesn't work? Of course, it works. They are just weaklings."

At this time, Kaian had no other choice but to sigh again. He looked at Eman sincerely and said what he wanted him to learn.

"Normal arrows don't work on slimes."

"They don't?"

"Yeah, they don't work."

"Everyone, be prepared! The slimes are coming now in our direction!" Everyone's attention was dragged back to the battlefield and to Bruno as well, as he started preparing to aggro and take the slimes' attention.

Mikael's corner lips twitched as he slapped Eman's head.

"That's what you get for showing off, you bastard! Prepare for the fight! This will take us a moment since they have already scattered." Mikael announced to the party.

"Fuah... That was tough. I thought I would get drowned by that overwhelming number."

"That is because of this stupid Eman, Mikael. If not for him, we could easily control their groups and kill them easily with our auras. But, as it was already alright, our good-looking member Kaian knows magic as well."

"Oh! That is right! You know about basic swordsmanship and you know about basic magic. It was a good thing that I asked you to join our party."

Mikael and Allyssa were extremely joyful about Kaian's reaction to the tides of slime that went to them as soon as Bruno failed to make an aggro. It was bad at first, as it is important to have an aggro to control the wave of monsters, but with Kaian's quick reaction and judgment, he was able to guide everyone to use the scattering to their advantage.

They were so amazed by it that they couldn't help but praise Kaian. And as they had rested for a while, the silent Bruno, the timidest of them all, sat beside Kaian.

"Where did you come from?"

Kaian was immediately caught in his question. His eyebrows raised for a moment, and he smiled with a breath let out.

"I am just from the countryside. Nothing special about me."

"You were able to make a good judgment. That one thing is already special about you. And looking at your sword, it is quite special."

"You are praising me too much."

'They are kind. Maybe this will be the start of my journey with friends at my side... I can feel it. They were kind towards me since earlier which could be a result of me being respectful towards others. Now I see why it is really important to measure your behavior.'

"Kaian~ Here you are~ We are having a snack. Come here!"

Kaian's delighted face abruptly changed into something negative, as if he had just faced something awful. Allyssa was approaching him again, and just when she arrived beside him, she immediately wrapped her arms around his.

His eyes moved to where Allyssa's wrapped arms were. He could feel the softness of the ample breast. Didn't know what to act, he simply released a sigh and walked with her to the huge boulder that they were using as an alternative table.

He sat beside Mikael, with Allyssa still sticking onto him.

"Ah...! Kaian, let's talk about the next quest," he said with a beaming face. He then reached for some bread and offered it to Kaian. "Eat some first."

"Thank you."

Allyssa's head rested on his shoulder. Kaian's eyes instinctively rolled as he could see that she was pressing her breast more. And as she did it, Kaian had another thought.

'Is she a whore? Why is she sticking to me that much? I didn't have any money in the first place, which is why I became an adventurer. What is her intention?'

Despite having the urge to ask his companions, Kaian couldn't take the risk of offending them. They were together with her more often, and talking about any ill words about her would offend them.

'Just why are they letting her do this? I kind of feel that this is awful and disgusting. But, I can't think of pushing her away. I am afraid of offending her and the party. They were good with me, and only Allyssa was doing things that I didn't really like.'

Deciding to just ignore it, Kaian put all of his attention on wanting to talk about their next quest.

"The next quest is a bit more complex. Look, this is the map... A group of rotting wolves is camping in this place, and they have already marked their territory."

Kaian studied the sketch on a piece of paper that Mikael showed. He keenly studied the path to the camp and also devised a plan that would be able to utilize all of its potentials.

Looking at the sketch map, there were two different entrances to the camp of rotting wolves. One was in the direction where the camp was nearest to their resting point, and the other one was at the back of the camp.

"It would take longer if we take a detour to reach the back for entrance. And since we are going to divide our force, I think that the tank should be the one that has the most energy."

"So... let's talk about what the plan will be."

They spent a couple of minutes devising the plan that they would need to use in this quest. And as they started to get close to their goal, they all stood up from their seats with resolved expressions. They are all ready.

Kaian and Eman started moving to the west as they were about to make a long detour to reach the opposite entrance of the rotting wolves' territory.
